Need stats for Dr Aeon on the States TF

Hi all! I've been mulling over in my head exactly how to go about running an all-melee STF - that is, all tanks or scrappers, and nothing else. I've got plans for what to do about Ghost Widow, Recluse, even the towers and repairmen - but what I don't know for certain is exactly how Dr Aeon and that magical forcefield of his works.

To that end - can anyone point me to the numbers? What it does, how often it's up, what buffs it gives him, and so on. I've done the STF many times on normal teams, so I know we need to use the temp from the Thorn Tree - any advice on how to do so without dying messily would be welcome, but if possible I'd like to figure out some kind of tactic myself.

Cheers in advance!

I wish I could help you as for how often it's up and whatnot. I don't think I've ever seen it come back up myself, but I have seen what it does when you don't use the power correctly.

Mostly he's invulnerable. Also, he one shotted my tank. Well, technically not because of the one shot code, but the other EBs made short work of my 1 remaining hitpoint.

Apparently, you need to fire it just after he does this arm raise-y thing and monologue. I'd imagine that's your key to watch for.

THIS.

Reason being, I believe his shield power is a click, not a toggle, and it's recharge is roughly the same rate as our Temp power. If you use it right after he uses his (animation of his arm going up), and he's still alive long enough to refresh it, you can simply use the power on him again within a few seconds.

If you use it too early, it does nothing, and he casts his shield and you have to wait for the power to recharge again. If you time it wrong, he'll recast his shield almost immediately after you use the power on him again.

If you wait too long, not only are you not damaging him for that amount of time, but his power will recharge soon and every time he puts it back up, you'll be stuck having to wait for your power to recharge again, giving yourselves a smaller window to damage him.

*going to try to get some in-game numbers and get back to you.

Edit:
[Power of the Thorn]
Activation 1.17s
Recharge 60.00s

[Aeon Special]
Activation 1.03s
Recharge 52.00s
grants [Temporal Displacer]
500 magnitude Untouchable
(Among other things like high Stun, Hold, KB prot and buffs to Recovery, ToHit and Damage)

There doesn't seem to be any way to counter-act his shield without the power. If that is accurate, then it's really important to get the timing of the temp power correct and take him down swiftly. Otherwise you'll just be hitting air.

Aeon and his clones deal Energy/Smashing damage with some disorient and KB. If you can resist that, a melee team should have no problem with him. If surviving the High/Extreme Damage of [Power Burst] and [Total Focus] is a concern, just pop a purple (or two) before you run in.

You'll be fine.

Thanks guys. I knew about the invulnerability and the damage boost, but not that it can be recast - I figured it was a toggle that the temp suppresses - so that's handy.

Thing is, I'm already a softcapped SR scrapper and on one run I had to act as tank as we didn't have one - and it seems there's some sort of to-hit buff he gets from it too, as I was hit 3 times in a row on subsequent attempts (yes, we wiped twice...!!) If I could get the numbers for how much of a buff, then I know how many purples to take.

...incidentally - that's a big part of the plan for taking on Recluse. ;D

Type [Temporal Displacer] in-game and you'll see some numbers. Unfortunately, many of them are variable depending on what AT/level you are viewing, so I suspect Aeon uses his own numbers anyway, which are probably extremely high if not capped.

It's at least 50% Tohit and 160% damage. The good news is that buff should go away when you disable his shield anyway.

Thanks again... I've just realised, I can give this a shot if I pop Aeon into an AE mission. I'll see if I can get a Power Analyzer on him and post up anything I find.

...50%, huh? That's worse than Recluse - and a LOT of insps...

Champs has done an all Scrapper STF. Aeon is really not an issue if done right and I havnt seen tomany misses with it.

your team might want to have a few of the members do Nuke runs for Chem and Bio nukes. If you have a well built /SD scrapper he can deal with LR with a Bio nuke and some OJ or Lucks.

The plan for Recluse is actually just lil' ol' me - popping purples to put me above his 30% tohit buff, and I have a sprint+ninja run speed of about 70mph, so I'll just be running him a merry dance round the pillars. Carrying extra blues for if the end drain hits me, of course.

So, I tried out the Power Analyzer... "unaffected". Though, I tried standing by him with just a couple of purples popped and lasted a good 30 seconds - more than enough to get the temp off. So we're good to go! Cheers for all the advice.

Oh yeah, you can almost always get that temp power off before he hits you. The key is "arms up" then "temp power." He has to put his arms up before he gets the buffs, so if you hit him correctly he doesn't actually have time to land a deathblow.

Thanks ZM, exactly what I was looking for - why didn't I think of RedTomax? - and Dechs for the advice.

Unless I'm reading it wrong though, there's no way those numbers could be right. 5% tohit, and 16% damage...? Well, at least I know it can be done pretty easily, that's the main thing.
