Quote:No problem. For further clarification, binds that don't involve time-sensitive command chains like targeting, powers, and using inspirations do.. wouldn't require any kind of pause.I don't think I've ever seen someone explain why the pause is necessary. Thanks for the clarification.
For example, (not that you'd actually do this):
/bind KEY "+$$L Line1$$L Line2"
Result (no matter how fast you push and release KEY):
[Local] PlayerName: Line1
[Local] PlayerName: Line2
[Local] PlayerName: Line1
[Local] PlayerName: Line2
The reason it displays both lines twice is because the + mechanic simply runs the entire command line twice.
The reason it works differently for powers is because when the command is run the first time, each power is immediately interrupted by the next, so the last one activates first. Then because the last one is already active, the second to last one activates the next time it is run. This leads to the misconception that commands are read from right to left, when they are actually read left to right the same way we write them. You just need to know how it's actually processed in order to make it function exactly the way you intend.
If you wanted to, you could chain together a handful of toggles and just spam the button until they all activate. -
Why would somebody take #68? Why not just go for 69?
Then again, if the first one is #0, that would make #68 the 69th one.
Anyway.. -
Quote:I am going out on a limb and saying that they meant the date varies depending on your server. Last year it was in all 3 of those zones. It doesn't make sense for them pick different zones for different servers. I know that's not what the post actually says, but I think that's what they meant. The way the first line is worded, it seems to say that each server should have a specific zone to report to... 'Depending on your server, go to these zones'...
Okay.... so we have a list of servers and times... but which zones for which servers?
Worse comes to worse, show up in Atlas at 4pm, and if nothing is happening in a few mins, just go to Talos. If you are a Villain, simply go to Cap. I'm sure it wont be hard to find the action, especially if you belong to global channels. -
Quote:How to play? Just have fun.actually can you just tell us how to play? itll help with the whole nerf nerf nerf syndrome
To avoid the "nerf nerf nerf syndrome", spend less time trying to exploit every point out of AE.
*I'm neither for nor against farming in general. I believe players should be able to play however they want to without having other players telling them what they should do... but if the activity you do is constantly getting nerfed, then you are obviously doing something the Devs don't intend, so try something else. -
A bad guy might be inclined to sell some dope to a cop who he knows is more on the bad side, but I wouldn't expect to see them robbing banks together.. at least not unless it was another bad guy that happens to bring the cop along until he gained enough reputation to lead his own.

Quote:And for all we know, the Radio/Newspaper could be an exemption to the rule and/or your "side-switching" arc contacts would have missions on either side (possibly even repeatable). One or more of the contacts themselves could be stationed on the other side as well, making getting your own missions there still a possibility.I still don't think it makes sense if the only way for a vigilante to say, rob a bank is to be on a team with someone able to pick up that mission.
So many ways this could play out. -
Quote:A Vigilante is just a Hero with access to the other side. There is no reason for him/her to have access to the contacts on the other side either.I really hope it doesn't work like this and if it does, I'll be highly disappointed. Personally, I don't think it would make sense if we could access both sides, but can only get contacts from one side.
If you could do whatever you wanted on both sides as a "grey", there would be no reason to have 2 different names for them. They will have different functionality too. -
Quote:To add to this, such a mechanic should be fine for most missions/arcs that aren't labeled as Hero/Villain Only, but it could cause a problem when trying to acquire badges and take part in TFs on the other side. It depends on how the contact permissions are set up.The subtle phrasing seemed to indicate at the time that a vigilante would not have villain contacts in the Rogue Isles and a rogue would not have hero contacts in Paragon City though you would be able to team with them to do their content.

THIS, and/or did you try turning things down using Tweak_CoH first?
You could also give us some insight as to what system you are trying to run this on. A CoH_Helper report would help. -
Quote:Yes, just long enough for the first power's activation to start going off.It also requires the key to be held for a fraction of a second, not just a quick tap, correct?
You'd run into the same interruption issue if you tried to doubletap the original bind too quickly as well. -

If it's anything like last year, it'll simply be AVs and GMs spawning over and over again.
For those of you who don't like PvP and are looking for the badge for the AVs in RV.. or you can never seem to get a team together to take down Jurassik, or you missed taking down a Winter Lord this year... just show up to this event. -
OMG, how did this thread get 12 replies in 20 minutes with nobody here?
-
Quote:You and I don't count, apparently. lolPardon me, but something is diconnect with your brain. Define "no one," please?
OP:
I can only assume you are referring to the AE changes.
Not for nothing, but the regular arcs and missions still work just fine for leveling. I've been doing it for years. I find that leveling in general has become EASIER over time, not harder.. with the release of Patrol XP and the XP smoothing curve.. etc. -
Quote:In my opinion, it's already "abused". There shouldn't be so many exit choices. If they didn't want it being used as a travel power, they should have made it bring you back to the same zone you came from.Maybe... more zones to exit to when leaving Ouroboros? (Though I'm not fully for that idea since it promotes abusing time travel to replace Paragon's public transit system.)
Don't get me wrong, I abuse it every day. lol -
Quote:Since Praetorian characters will have to select a side at lvl 20, I can't see them letting actual Heroes or Villains switch any earlier than that either.Hey All,
So for me one of the more important things about GR is getting Vills to go blueside, as I am not a fan of redside at all.
So does anyone know the mechanic that will allow this to happen? will I have to run a mish at a certain level or something?
I heard its not for atleast 20 levels? is this true? Also, if I start on that new Pred. world (or whatever it is) can I make any type of toon there (hero or vill AT's) and go blueside at some point?
Sorry my SearchFU sucks.
Thanks!
And a side note, the Epic Archetypes will not be allowed to start in Praetoria, but will be allowed to switch sides.
I am going to assume that if you wanted to create a new Mastermind (for example) for the purposes of bringing it to Heroside, the actual switching process might be shorter if you start in Praetoria and select Heroside at 20 than it would for you to start as Villain, level to 20 and start the changeover arcs. -
Quote:BTW, that link works now. The post is in the Announcement forum.Same here.... Although... I believe it's on purpose with me. I pissed the Devs off, so it's only natural they don't want me to see the dates and times for that stuff.... XD

Quote:A minor change to add "+$$" at the beginning:Not sure if this would work as a macro, but this would let you hit a bind twice to turn on both :
/bind R "powexec_toggleon Ninja Run$$powexec_toggleon Sprint"
/bind R "+$$powexec_toggleon Ninja Run$$powexec_toggleon Sprint"
That will activate Sprint when the key is pressed, then activate Ninja Run when the key is released... only requires ONE press of the key.
This would not work for a macro though. -
Quote:Since it was brought up, Irish has to agree with making the Anniversary badges global.
Preferably retroactively awarding ones that we have on one toon, to all of them.Quote:This.
For some weird reason, my badger does not have the first aniversary badge. I know he was around for the anniversary, but I guess I forgot to log in with him. I was probably a bit overwhelmed with everything since I was a fairly new player (I'd only been playing a month before the first anniversary). And believe it or not, I only have one character with the first anniversary badge that's still around.
Instead of a different badge for each anniversary, there would simply be 1 badge re-awarded each year simply for celebrating any CoH anniversary.
Instead of awarding for the whole month, it would award during a 1 or 2 week period.
That would eliminate the need for the badges to be awarded globally and give everybody an eventual chance to get it on any character. -
For windowed mode:
"C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CohUpdater.exe" -fullscreen 0
As for changing other settings before loading the client, you can use a program called Tweak_CoH to change the options in the registry. -
Aye
"Master Dwadler"
An unlocked macro command that activates a minigame interface that includes games like Solitaire and Sudoku. lol.
(I'm kidding btw) -
The "new" forums don't have that option anymore, but you can send a request for a name change...
Discussion: It's "Change your Forum handle" time!
While the program was designed to get rid of the "_NA/EU" extensions, it's not limited to only those affected. -
Quote:Not the first 5 powers, but anything you had up to lvl 6, plus access to your vet and temp powers. That makes wiping the map for the badge that much easier. And, I can't remember at this early time of the morning, but I think you have access to your first five powers....I think....probably wrong.
If you get the badge and you are having trouble finding the 7 hostages to rescue, just think about the layout of the actual Outbreak Zone. Each contact you had on training day are the hostage and they are all in the same spots they were in. The last one is in a building marked with the red Waypoint. -
Quote:You are correct. I should have been clearer about that. I was indeed referring to the set as it works on a single player.Master-Blade's criticism, I believe, refers to the contribution of a lone electric blaster versus the contribution of a lone _____ blaster. Indeed, Electric is pretty much the bottom of the barrel for pure dps concerns, and alone, their sapping potential isn't that impressive outside very specific powerset pairings. It's when you get a couple of them together that their endurance drain goes from an interesting gimmick to borderline-overpowered; if three or four electric blasters stealth up to a group of enemies and hit Short Circuit in sync, nothing in that group will ever get more than an opening shot off before their end hits 0, and thanks to the guaranteed -recovery in Short Circuit, they'll never be able to even brawl you as long as someone uses it again every 10 seconds. Archvillains take a bit longer to drain, but an 8-man electric blast team can still floor them in short order.
I have not really seen them in groups, so couldn't comment on them in that regard. It does sound interesting though, and your description of your experiences makes it even more interesting to want to try. Makes me almost want to sign up. lol -
Quote:I agree with you, but I think you are misinterpreting the picture...Unfortunatly, with Radio/Paper Missions, at least half the damned time, you have no idea what group of foes you'll be facing until you load into the mission. VERY freakin' annoying.
The Mission is listed as a "Defeat Boss", but once loaded it is a "Kidnap Hostage".
Yes, the Archon text is VERY misleading in this case. Not only is it the wrong faction, but the wrong objective as well. lol
Personally, I have not had this happen. I agree with using the Drop Mission option.
