Picking one mission, yet getting another?

as a Mind/Psi Dominator....DO NOT WANT, perfect time for me to get a bugged mish selection when I'm about to level...

Unfortunatly, with Radio/Paper Missions, at least half the damned time, you have no idea what group of foes you'll be facing until you load into the mission. VERY freakin' annoying.

And, as you can see, the random text doesn't always fit the random group. In this case, you'd probably expect Council due to the Archon in the text, but instead it gave Carnies. AFAIK, it's been this way since the beginning.

Fortunatly, come I17, this won't be a problem. When you bring up your list of 3 Radio/Paper Missions, if you don't see anything that looks good, you can just grab a random one, and then use Abandon Mission to drop it. Then, you'll get a fresh set of 3 Missions to choose from. Currently, on Live, if you don't like the 3 choices, you have to close the Radio/Paper window, and zone to get a new set of 3.

If you can't handle the Carnies, I'd say your options are to reset the mission at -1/x0, see if you can get a team, or use Drop Mission if it's available.

I agree with you, but I think you are misinterpreting the picture...

The Mission is listed as a "Defeat Boss", but once loaded it is a "Kidnap Hostage".

Yes, the Archon text is VERY misleading in this case. Not only is it the wrong faction, but the wrong objective as well. lol

Personally, I have not had this happen. I agree with using the Drop Mission option.

Yeah, I had already used my mish drop feature already before I got that mish, but I exited the mission and tested something real quick. I selected the Defeat Archon mish again and it gave me the "Abandon Mission in progress?" box, I hit yes, then the Rescue mission disappeared and I was given my mission with the Council

I probably would of done what you suggested Khel, cause I've fought Carnies on my Psi defender...yeah, not fun when they have pretty good defense and I think resists to psi damage.

thats good that it fixed itself, its possible a slight bug when picking it the first time was pointing to a different map meant for a different paper mish

very odd indeed, i had something wierd happen to my sg base once when me or any of friends tried zoning to it, it froze on load screen, suprisingly the problem went away the next day (support was no help for the issue saying the problem was on my end when i specified that other poeple were having the same issue lol)
