Lol, there might actually be, but I certainly don't know what it would be. For all we know, it could be a simple priority identifier for each location in a zone that makes one of them always override the other.

If I was the designer, that's probably what I would have done to fix it. now the only thing let to do is to find those areas and test it repeatedly to see if you get credit for the same one each time.

It multiplies the square root of the distance between the centerpoints of each DayJob area, then adds the number of hours that toon has ever been online, then subtracts how long you've been offline at that location and divides by your distance from each one, then picks whichever one it wants. lol

In my opinion, you shouldn't see much difference. The reason is this...

675Mhz Core Clock
2.2 Ghz Memory Clock

EVGA Nvidia 260 GTX:
626Mhz Core Clock
2.1 Ghz Memory Clock

Of course, there are other specs and factors that will make the card slightly better, but I don't think it'd be very significant... as you have found out.

Personally, I'm still trying to rationalize upgrading from my 9600GT to the 260GTX. Like you said, it still doesn't get you full performance. I'd be paying $200 for what... 10fps? I'd rather keep a couple options turned down for now and wait for the 400 series to come down in price so I can at least get DDR5.

The other option was to get the ATI 5770 or higher.. but I can't rationalize that either. I don't want to pay $200 for a card just to turn features off because they don't work well together. The point in upgrading is to be able to turn everything on! lol

Maybe the surge protector is damaged? Make sure it's an actual Surge Protector, and not just a power strip. There is a BIG difference.

Personally, I'd go with a UPS instead. That's an Uninterruptible Power Supply that protects you from surges as well as runs on a battery backup when the power goes out. It's a great investment.

Solo, I'd like to see you take them down in the state they are in. Their regen/heal is incredibly high, so the only hope of killing any Green Mito is to take it down with multiple simultaneous hits inside of a second. It can be done with a full team and perfect timing, but it's too much of a hassle to deal with. I'll just wait 'til they are fixed.

I just found it it was supposedly fixed this morning. There was reports of people still having issues with it though. Apparently there were some changes to the Mitos as well (which might be reversed in the future), but it's worth a shot anyway.

What follows is numerous people saying GET_WINGS in the Arena Chat because they think it really activates wings.

I didn't mean just the Server/Channel word mishap. I meant the GET_WINGS part. It seems with the lazy generation of today, people get that far not knowing what that means and stops reading the rest of the line, completely missing the point of the thread.

It's mildly funny, don't get me wrong, but not everybody gets it... especially new players who haven't been around long enough to use /AC or find Global Channels yet.

My experience is not the same. I've sent out a few of those invites in the past and have received free time on each of them. Keep in mind that you don't get a free month just for referring them. The person you referred has to actually buy the game and subscribe for at least one month before you get the free time.

Anyway, as for which channels to join.. I belong to a very good channel where we run several weekly multi-team TFs. Sometimes we playfully compete for times, but for the most part we're there to enjoy the time together and level up and have fun. You're certainly welcome to join any of our events (listed in the forums).

RF2009 and Freedom Events are usually hot with the speed run advertisements. For a time there were nightly Hami raids as well, but with the current Green Mito bug, things have been put on hold until it's fixed.

I'm not sure what to tell you about the PVP-IO farming though. As much as everybody says we are the PvP server, most everybody I know says "lolPvP", so I haven't much advice about where to begin other than showing up in RV and calling out.

I agree as well. It might not always be a patrol or ambush, but even just a future boss spawnpoint.

The reason I say this is because it happened to me during the new Heroside arcs last night... the mission where you go into the dam and there are a bunch of non-combative freakshow. As soon as we killed the mob at the end of the map, all the Freakshow turned Red, and there was a ??? arrow on the Eastern side. Once we planted/diffused the bombs, the ??? arrow turned into a red objective marker, and the Boss and his mob were in that location.

Mind you, it was just a theory. The site doesn't say it wont run. It just says it's not supported. That's all I meant by a disclaimer. They just want to make it clear that if you are having problems with it, that they told you so and you are on your own finding a way to make it work (if possible).

I'm still on WinXP 32-bit here and have no way to test it one way or the other. I don't know if Turg's is really working or not. I decided to take his word for it for the sake of throwing a theory out there and to let Turg know that just because IF it turns out that it does work for him, it does not necessarily mean it should be working for everybody else too, especially since the company claims it does not.

I was on a run a couple mornings ago where we were able to kill ONE of the greens. It seems they not indestructible, just have ridiculously high regen/heal... so as long as you can defeat them in 1 second with perfectly timed simultaneous hits, it can still be done.

After killing one of them, we lost a couple team members. They didn't want to keep trying for the perfect hit. Frankly, neither did I. As long as we got one of them down, that was enough for me to say it was possible. haha

The funny thing is you can change everything all the information in the NCSoft account management EXCEPT the owner's name. It's always going to belong to the same person. I don't understand why the OP's friend is having difficulty proving who he/she is. Usually, providing a credit card issued in the same name is usually enough to get the password reset, at which time you can go in and change your security questions and other info.

If that doesn't work, then try support by phone instead of e-mail.

Nah, Patrol hours is calculated as being online.

The only thing I can think of in the OP's case is that sometimes when you log off, your character is "stuck" online. People can see it on their Global Friend lists, but lists no shard because you aren't actually there. The amount of time the character is there might also count.

Either that or you spend a hell of a lot of time in Atlas park. haha

On a side note, I have a couple characters well into the 3000 range, but those are my badge hunters that AFK'd the damage and healing badges before they were lowered to the current value. haha

I don't know what you are talking about here. You get the accolade badge the same moment you claim the Respec as your Trial reward. You don't have to ever even use the actual respec to get the badge.

You might be thinking about when you actually use the respec, the badge text changes, but it's not a new badge.

You are right though, the reward at the end of the Trial lists the Respec but not the badge, but either way, the respec is tied to that accolade just like I said. You can't have the respec without having that badge, and you can't have that badge and not have the respec (unless you already claimed it).

This is how people can tell if they can still earn another Trial Respec.. by looking to see if they have the badges. You can further tell if you'd already used the respec by looking at the badge text. If it is any different now, then it has certainly changed, and the Wiki would need an update as well.

You can certainly run as many game clients as you like, but you can only run one copy of the updater at a time.

On a side note, you can open simultaneous windows and bypass the updater by making a new shortcut like the following:
"C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CityOfHeroes.exe" -project coh
(*You must still run the updater when there is an update. lol*)


Also, to answer the OP's other question about Windowed mode, you can incorporate that into the shortcut as well:
"C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CityOfHeroes.exe" -project coh -fullscreen 0

For a standard shortcut that uses the updater, but uses windowed mode, modify it as follows:
"C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CohUpdater.exe" -fullscreen 0
