Day Job Location Badge Bug

Does anybody remember the list of Day Job locations that give you two badges even though you are only in one of the locations.

My friend thinks he found a new one and wants to verify if he has found a new one for the Bug Hunter Badge. I've told him that there were a few and that they were already known.

Thanks

Advise him not to bother. Since the existence of a double day job location is not game breaking in any way, he would not have a chance at all of getting Bug Hunter for it. Instead, his best bet would be to simply keep quiet about it. If the devs want to fix any double job locations, they can hunt them down themselves.

Those have, as far as I'm aware, been found and fixed. Some times you still get more than one icon to appear at a spot, but I believe you'll only receive credit towards one of them.

That's how they've been working in my experience. Take Bloody Bay for example. When you come out of the Black Helicopter you will see two Day Job dots (one for Predator, one for Pilot), yet you will only get progress on one of them at a time. How the game decides which to count any given time that you log off though I don't know.

It multiplies the square root of the distance between the centerpoints of each DayJob area, then adds the number of hours that toon has ever been online, then subtracts how long you've been offline at that location and divides by your distance from each one, then picks whichever one it wants. lol

Well that clears things up, lol. I figured it was random but wasn't sure if there was actually some more convoluted mechanic at work.

Lol, there might actually be, but I certainly don't know what it would be. For all we know, it could be a simple priority identifier for each location in a zone that makes one of them always override the other.

If I was the designer, that's probably what I would have done to fix it. now the only thing let to do is to find those areas and test it repeatedly to see if you get credit for the same one each time.

If your friend has found a location where he believes there are multiple Day Jobs awarding, he should file a /bug report and then keep quiet if he's looking to get Bug Hunter. You're unlikely to get Bug Hunter by telling everyone about the bug, and asking the devs to give it to you will make them not want to

Generally on areas were 2 could potentially be available the zone one is overridden by the local one. So the hospital beds in Pocket D give caregiver over clubber. I would imagine the broken ones should work the same

Multiple Day Jobs in one spot isn't game breaking though, so it wouldn't meet the criteria for Bug Hunter. At most you might get a thank you for reporting it. Even some easily abused ones like the [formerly] farmable Safeguard exploit I found ages ago on Live didn't qualify, so its got to be pretty big to have a shot at getting that Holy Grail of badges, heh.

You are right though that the general consensus with getting the badge is to report it and not say a word about Bug Hunter and don't spread word of what you've found around prior to it being fixed, if at all.

EDIT: Yay 500, hehe
