Oversight? I'll hold on to my Halloween salvage for now.

Quote:I've never known him to use that end drain attack in melee... he sure will use it from range though. Stick close to him and you shouldn't have to worry about that at least.Quote:he's used it in melee range before...but I haven't tanked him with my Invul since the early STF days
In this case, I'm thinking it's likely the tank was using attacks on LR, causing him to get attacked back more often, and probably drained of his Endurance and getting toasted rather quickly. -
-
In other news, I've seen some stone tanks that suck completely, so sometimes there is more than one factor at work than what set you have. haha
-
Not for nothing, but my Inv Tanker does just fine on the STF and has lead many successful "Master of" runs without even using a secondary agro-magnet. I don't know why people think Stone is required. We've even done it with a WS as the head tank.

Quote:You are right, being blinded isn't something you can "break free" from, but it CAN be countered by popping Yellow Inspirations or using any power that has +Perception. It's pretty bad when there is lag. It's worse when blinded and there is nothing to do (because a Break Free doesn't undo the status effect) but watch others play and/or lag to the login screen.
On a side note, I just got home and completely missed this whole event. lol -

Quote:It's on the roof of the University above the front door. The marker for the plaque at the front door is slightly blocking it on the "Interactive" view. If you look closely at it, you will see it. It's clearly visible on the "Viewable (Print Out)" version though.I couldn't find Egghead marked on the Vidiot map for Cap au Diable. Do you happen to know where it is located?

Quote:I use the Unstable series as well, but for some reason it didn't let me know automatically about the new one (even though I have it checked), but when I went to Help> Check for updates, it was a simple fix. There's a new unstable version out now, I got the "updated version is available" when I started the program this evening. I haven't used the "stable" version in years, the unstable is always pretty on the spot on game updates and I've yet to find it buggy in any major way.

Quote:Thanks for confirming. I'll make sure it's fixed. Hopefully nobody will come in behind me and change it again. lolHi,
well just took my alt to Steel and defeated 10 Hellion arsonists and never went near a fire (never even picked up the extinguisher) and was awarded the first badge "Volunteer Firefighter".
The badge definately needs only 10 Hellions OR 10 Fires.
Cheers
Edit:
It's been confirmed that defeating fires has no effect on the first badge. I personally defeated upward of 30 fires without touching any hellions and still didn't have it. It requires only 10 Arsonists. The wiki is now correct on the defeat badges page, and I sent Beefcake a message about it as well so he can verify his site shows the correct information. -
Quote:Actually, if you look at the history for that page, you will see that it said 10 for a long time (2½ years). As far as Volunteer Firefighter, I think we need to go back and actually read the requirements on this one. Someone recently changed it to 10 fires and arsonists on the wiki, but that doesn't seem right at all.
But the Defeat badge page said it required 25 of both, so I certainly changed it there.
The second badge in the series was also wrong, saying it was 50 of both, so I fixed that to say 25 as well.
(Thanks for catching them in the "in-game sequential list" as well. I missed it.)
All other resources, including Badge Hunter, City info Tracker, and even those actual badge pages all list the requirement as 10, 25/25, and 100/100, so it was inconsistent and needed to be corrected.
Edit:
It seems somebody decided to go in right behind me and change my OR to an AND. I'm positive that is not right though. I'm certain it's possible (or used to be) to get that badge without putting out any fires, which is probably why Fires wasn't included on the list to begin with. Well, I'll leave it alone for now until I can go ahead and re-verify it again in-game. It's close enough for now. lol -
Quote:The "Closest to Completion" tab is generally sorted from highest percentage to lowest percent complete. The position they appear on your screen would not necessarily match anybody else's.Hi,
if you check your "nearest to completion" listings you should find two entries with regard to the "Fires" badges.
One lists the number of Hellions required and currently defeated and the other gives the number of fires requiring extinguishing and your current total achieved.
These were added just recently and are not next to each other in the listings (at least not on my machine).
I have an alt with all the Hellions defeated that is top of the listings and about 50% of the fires which is seen very near the bottom.
Cheers
As for the second one you are seeing that shows Hellions.. are you sure you aren't referring to Hellspawned, for killing Hellion Bosses? I just tested on a low level character that had done no fires, and earned the first badge very quickly, then defeated a couple more Fires and Hellions and looked for the progress bars you describe. I only see the one we've always seen for the fires. The Hellion Bosses is not connected to the Fire event.
If that's really a new feature, I'm missing it. Typically, people will wipe out mobs and mobs of the Hellions with AoEs, which will fill your progress bar fast and make it look complete. Then it's just a matter of putting out enough fires to finish it off. Unfortunately, there is no way to tell how many fires you have put out if that's the case.
For clarification, the badges are:
Volunteer Firefighter (Fire Bane) - Defeat 10 Hellion Arsonists
Firefighter (Firestomper) - Defeat 25 Fires AND 25 Hellion Arsonists
Fire Chief (Asbestos) - Defeat 100 Fires AND 100 Hellion Arsonists -
It wont change because it's really only showing ONE of the two requirements. If you are defeating Hellions endlessly, try taking out more fires instead. It'll come in time.

CoH is just a pack-rat. It hordes every bit of information while you are playing, even if you don't need it. Information about zones you are in, players that are around you, your chat, and many other things just add up over time.
This is nothing new to GR. It's been like this for a very long time. Certain playing habits may cause some people to be affected more than others are. With GR, you are likely in a higher populated area than you usually are, which may be causing the increase in memory usage you are noticing.
Personally, my client usually starts at about 900MB before even moving. After an hour so I'm sure to hit the 1.2GB mark. It takes a few more hours before it finally starts to get unstable at over 1.5GB, and if I stay on even longer, I'm sure to crash when it gets to around 1.8G or so. -
Quote:This is right. CoH used to crash for me all the time when it hit around 1.5GNonono.
The issue is that 32-bit Windows can only allot 2GB of memory to any given single process (this includes 32-bit programs running in a 64-bit WOW (Windows On Windows) environement).
Realistically though, after about 1.5GB gets allotted, some programs can behave erratically. CoH is one of these.
The reason I say "used to" is because it seems GR has made it a little more stable (for me). I frequently see the usage hit 1.5G without a problem. It isn't until it gets to about 1.8G that I run into problems now... which is not very often at all. -
How would somebody have "full access" to Going Rogue at lvl 14 when all the side-switching content is lvl20+?
-
Keep an eye out for Jason Maxwell. He's the one you have to do a dialog with. He should actually be right near the beginning.
On a side note, I've run into my fair share of bugged missions in Praetoria as well, so don't be afraid to /petition a GM to complete it for you if you have to. -
You probably have to click on one of the NPCs for a dialog.
-
Worst case scenario you can probably just start a voice chat on Yahoo or skype or something.

Ventrillo Setup
Basically, you'll have to set up a server, then you all connect to it to chat to each other. -
I remember spending an absurd amount of time killing them until I got the badge. I can't say for sure if it was really 200 kills, but it certainly did award to my Hero-turned-Villain character eventually. It probably took me at least 3 or 4 times longer than it took for me to get the badge for killing the minions, so if you just recently got that one, you probably still have a bit of work ahead of you.
-
I've had a couple merge just as recently as an hour or two ago, so it appears to still be working.
-
For me it depends on the situation. When people hammer down F7 or something for no reason.. I agree with you... but the occasional "Can I be on camera too?" or "is this my good side" just breaks the monotony of the same old cutscene. Some people even have very clever binds that work with particular scenes. lol

Quote:My original Global was the first toon I ever made (as is everybody else's). I changed it to Master-Blade after my first month or so of using my second toon more than my first. lolYep, I meant two resets that I could recall. As I remember both of them had something to do with bugs or server issues but it's been awhile and I could be mixing that with something else. There may have been another sometime that I've forgotten about but it's certainly a rare occurrence.
I've only used the rename once; that was back when CMA hit 50 to change the global from the default, my first character who at the time was long deleted, to my current global, @call me awesome.
The first extra change I remember was when i12 had so many global chat issues and some people's name had reset to the next toon they logged into or something. I remember having the option to change my name again, but I never did.
I did change a name on a second throw-away account though as a joke though. I was able to change it again when GR came out.
I was pretty sure there was another one besides those, but I can't recall exact details. I wasn't really a major forum-goer back in my first few issues, so I didn't have a clue about things going on like that. lol -
Quote:I started right around i7, and this recent Global Change allowance is number THREE for me. (I think at least one of them was unannounced).I can remember maybe twice since I started playing in issue 3 that we got a global rename reset...
Then again, maybe you meant we've had 2 resets plus the one we initially get when we start the account, totaling 3.
Either way, your point stands. You never know when or if another one will be issued, so make sure you pick something you really want.
