Hercules Titans no combining to Zeus

I hope I'm posting in the right area. Since I'm looking to get the Monkeywrencher badge (eventually) I figured this was as good a place as any.

Every time I try to get 2 hercs to merge they just won't. I beat both of them down to Near-Death but they won't have anything to do with each other. This is has been going on for me since i18/GR. If I'm in a mish and they're right next to each other when I encounter them, they won't merge. If I'm hunting and I pull two together, they won't merge. No matter what the situation, they just won't merge. Has anyone else encountered this? Thanks. =)

In my experience, they've never merged unless they originated from the exact same spawn. On the tip mission with way too many Malta ambushes there were Hercules joining up as late as yesterday - but only from within the same waves. If say, there was a Gunslinger and a Hercules Titan in one wave and the same in another, bringing down the two Titans to merge-levels simultaneously wouldn't make them combine. When a wave held two Hercules, however, they did combine.

To the best of my knowledge, I've never seen Herc titans merge into a Zeus.

However, despite what the badge text says, any Zeus titan counts for badge credit, regardless of whether it started as two Hercs or not. Crimson's missions, particularly late in his arc, contain a bunch of Zeus titans that will even spawn as lieutenants if you're solo and don't have difficulty set to spawn bosses, and they all count.

This should work IF the two Hercs were part of the same spawn. On a crowded map, it might be difficult to be sure.

I'm assuming you're referring to 2 Hercs from different mobs, pulling one to the other. Won't work.

Re: Placta's comments, yes, they DO merge, as long as the above limits apply, but they don't NEED to merge; ANY Zeus will work.

Best way to get them to merge is get a team together and hunt Herc pairs in Warburg. I see them in pairs all the time there, but be warned: the combined Zues will con purple... hence the team suggestion.

As for finding pre-combined Zeus... a bit of luck street sweeping in PI can net you some, as well as 6+ teams running Malta missions.

I've had a couple merge just as recently as an hour or two ago, so it appears to still be working.
