Yes.
Halloween salvage was the only way to get to 5 for non VEATs before GR but it never had any special ties to a particular slot.

I just wondered.
There are times that I have created a toon with a certain look but later find a better look with some new costume pieces. I do save the old looks for visual purposes of nostalgia.

Okay, I have a lvl 50 brute that I got up to that level in Rogue Isle. I crossed over to the blue side when GR went live. Now, I have 4 costume slots open, with the 5th waiting to be unlocked. I noticed something about one of my powers that was putting out a color I don't recognize. I decided to go to the Independence Port Icon to check it out. I went to the first tailor there, and she was the one with the costume slot mish. The mission was available. I took it and took down 30 Crey. Went back to the Icon and got the slot #5 unlocked.
I had assumed that the Halloween salvage was what unlocked the 5th slot. This proved me wrong. So the question I'm asking is: Is this working as intended? |
Have you tried turning in the Halloween salvage and seeing how the game reacts, since you already have all five costume slots?

Thanks to side switching, you can unlock all available costume slots through missions. Five costume slots is still the maximum.

How does this work for Rogues/Vigilantes who are tourists? Can they get the missions to unlock the slots from their "opposite" sides (since tourists are supposed to be locked out of mission contacts)?

edit: just checked on my rogue tank and he didn't unlock a 6th slot from the facemaker, don't know what would happen if you did like the VEATs and tried to unlock a 6th with Salvage, or if they can even still do that.
Are you sure 5 is the max? You can get a 6th on a VEAT you just can't edit at a tailor.

Soldiers of Arachnos
An Arachnos Soldier's or Arachnos Widow's original costume slot is forced to include unique, AT-specific accessories that give it a distinct appearance. To balance this, these Villain Epic Archetypes have one additional way to earn an extra costume slot, starting at level 10, by running missions for Brick Johnson in Port Oakes. AT-specific accessories cannot be added to any costume except the first slot. For this reason, the first newly-gained costume slot begins as a plain set of tights for these ATs, with only details like color scheme and facial features copied from the first slot. After this costume is modified, it becomes the default for all further alternate costumes.
Soldiers of Arachnos can use both this extra slot and the Halloween Salvage slot to achieve six costumes total, but this is not fully supported. The sixth slot does not appear in the costume selection window, therefore it can only be switched to by using /cc 5, described below. The sixth slot is a copy of the first non-Arachnos costume slot when the sixth slot was opened and cannot be edited at the Tailor. The first non-Arachnos costume slot can then be edited at the Tailor, allowing the character to have six unique costume options, as the sixth slot will not change to match.
