A hero team i was in locked down a MM who then logged and logged back in, simply to avoid all the debuffs which held him in place during our attack. I find this very very poor, I would just take the hit, and, if i felt the need, log out at the hospital or go pve instead. Some MUDs have a fight timer, where u cant log out unless you havent been attacked for a certain number of seconds. Should we have such a timer in COH/V?

Kinetics is a very, very busy set; especially late in the game. In battle, you can happily provide a healing blanket and contant endurance, with a nice little ~300% damage buff. Before battle, you get to spam buffs across your teammates.

Unfortunately, ranged players will benefit the least, as a lot of Kinetics revolves around the group staying in a tight melee-ranged clump.

Thats what I like about it, keeps you busy. Sometimes, in the heat of the moment, i'l get such a good momentum going that everything becomes automatic. I also buff on the fly now, topping up the buffs of the next person on the list while my other powers are recharging.

I wish the grave knight would melee more, i think he's better at that. Also, the manual says giving the "attack my taget command" keeps them on your target or, the next target if you switch. When my target dies though i have to pull them back and re-command them or they go for a wander.

Theres are lots of reasons why ninjas would follow someone with limited or no martial skills. Its a nice idea though, maybe the pirate MM set (thats coming isnt it? or is it another rumour?) could have pirate attacks like, cuttlass, pistol, brace of pistols. Now i've said that it doesnt actually seem relevant

I took stamina and i'm thinking of replacing it with acrobatics later. If you intend to PvP then you might want to rethink getting rid of Increase Density. It gives resistence to TP foe which your team will love.
I'm no sure why your dying so much in melee range though, maybe try hanging back till your team aggro the mobs then heal yourself between end drainers?
I also didnt pick any travel power, fine in pve, can be a bit scary in pvp when your inertial reduction runs out and theres a big group of villains chasing you

My kin/elec does well in pvp for a defender, some great buffs, debuffs, a big heal, and a bag of dangerous end draining powers. Not much damage though, i'll leave that to the blasters and scrappers.

I agree, in PvP things can happen so quickly you dont always have time to conciously think about whats going on. As a sapper it takes me all day to kill someone, i rely on others doing damage once i make someone too weak to fight back. I'd rather it was someone in my team doing the honours though.

Yes being simply overpowered can feel like griefing, it helps to put yourself in the other persons shoes. If you were in a team of 8 and only had one person to fight, what would you do? One time when overpowered and outnumbered I pulled the villains around by showing my face then running off, maybe sneaking in a cheeky wee debuff. This was just to give us both something to do, I was the only hero on, and leaving would have left them kinda bored, besides, i wanted to hang around anyway. Guess what i'm saying is you can still have fun when totally outgunned.

I think fighting dirty is ok, but repeatedly killing a single player over and over is well...bullying. This becomes more complex if your the only hero/villain in the zone.

Thanks bridger, i'm just reluctant to /petition as i'm not used to people being plonkers here. But i will /petition in the future if I have to.
BTW, same player was around the other night and said nothing, no idea why, was just happy to play in peace.

If you duel in the pvp zones u just need to be aware that some people may interfere, and if you do interfere, you shouldnt be surprised if people think less of you for it.

If I am heavily outnumbered i sometimes offer to duel anyone who fancies a go, its more fun than being slapped around when your the only hero in the zone

oh btw, a dueling system like the one in jedi academy would be nice, it would allow duels without having to hoof yourself all the way to the arena. For anyone who hasnt played that game it works like this:

1 player challenges another
that player accepts (in this example)
both players are surrounded in some sort of force field which only the other can penetrate, in effect, they are safe from other players.

A few points, instead of a force field i'd rather peoples name just chagned color, also, it'd be good to have some sort of auto decline.

I wouldnt class TPing someone into some mobs as griefing, more like unsporting.

Well I dont think you can escape it. I have been on afew times where it has gotten out of hand. For me the biggest problem is everyone has there own ideas on whats acceptable. To me that would be going to far, its not jestering at all.

Often its how the person was killed that starts the griefing. For example being teleported repeatedly into a drone. The Devs say its acceptable but I know that would [censored] me off and I for one would probably tell them to grow up.

Thanks for the responses. I could maybe understand if i had killed the person, but this was as soon as i entered the zone and said hi to everyone. I got the impression this person only logged on to insult people.

Thankfully the vast majority of chat between my "enemies" has been lighthearted banter, congratulations on a good kill, or, at worst, a diversionary tactic.

Last night i recieved something more unpleasant, in short i was accused of:

being a "little boy",
being to old to play video games (i'm 28),
being fat (even though i'm not),
having no wife and being "on the shelf" (even though i'm not, i have gf),
having a non existent social life (even though i do have a social life).

Some people (on the villain side funnily enough) thought I was taking it a bit too seriously, everyone on the hero side (my side) thought this person went too far. I come on coh/cov to relax and have fun, if i want people to insult me, i'll ask my boss for overtime. Thankfully this is pretty rare on cox, but its the reason i dont play many other online games where this sort of thing is a lot more common.

Not really sure if i have a point, guess i just wanted to get other ppls opinions.

I have manouvers and tactics, mostly took to to see stalkers but teams in pve appreciate the extra accuracy and defence they get. Once you get transference most of your endurance problems will be a thing of the past
Till then, you could always use those extra slots to reduce the endurance spent by your powers and increase the endurance gained back from your sapping powers. If you dont want to do that, can i get your extra slots?

I dont think fly provides any defence the way hover does, but if you do want fly, use it with inertial reduction and you will stop a lot easier.
