Ok, it is in the clues in the second mission. The cauldron clue says you stopped the CoT mystics and the Doctor Creed clues says "That still doesn't explain all the wizards."
It was a really well written arc with great dialogue too. It's too bad that it was made a devs choice before the bugs were ironed out. An arc should never be made a devs choice until all the obvious (and I mean extremely blatantly unbelievably obvious) problems have been cleaned up. -
Hmmmm... I decided to try that arc just now and I see absolutely nothing, and I mean zero, zilch, zip, nada about the second mission that in any way indicates CoT. In fact the only faction mentioned is Rikti. I'll keep playing in a bit and look for further clues.

Thank you for reporting back. That 13 character limit is something else we can look for when people are having this problem.
-
At any rate I've been on Virtue for the past 6 hours and it hasn't even hiccuped.
-
Trendmicro used to be good but they went downhill fast. I use Avira and Malwarebytes and they catch lots of things that slip right past PcCillin.
-
I have no clue. I thought I did but apparently my reading comprehension is lacking.
-
They are permanent and on all characters. The reason they are listed as temp powers is because they are the same as the Halloween costume temp powers.
-
Currently yes those those are only on your C: drive. The reason it keeps reporting them is most antivirus software will scan the memory and also scan the registry of the primary drive before it starts scanning whatever else was requested.
-
Pew Pew Pew is what you get when you use propel and the bench is picked 3 times in a row.
Yeah I know, I'll slink quietly out. -
Just in case anybody here picks up a costume code they don't need I am willing to trade a GvE game code for it.
Or I'll also trade the GvE code for a Freak Tank code if anybody still has one of those and wants to trade.
Edited for clarity. -
Well, that was a bit disjointed but those who have seen the problem before know exactly what you mean. For those who don't know what the problem is here is the explanation.
When doing the hero tutorial it happens when you get to the point where you are given your first enhancement and told to check out the terminal for information. If you are in the lowest resolution mode then clicking on the terminal results in the information window completely filling and extending below the screen. You can only move the window back and forth and since the close button is at the very bottom, which is off the screen, you can't close it. If you try to quit from the game the quit choice button is hidden behind the information window so you can't select either option. Unless you know some slash commands then you are screwed or you will have to close the program down through the tack manager.
The slash command that will immediately close the oversized window is /gamereturn -

To me, that sounds like a rootkit. The people that are working on your computer, have they used a rootkit scanner?
[/ QUOTE ]
It does sound like a possible rootkit although there are other viruses which will recreate themselves and hide the originating code without needing to be a rootkit.
Sin, have you enabled all scanning options in Malwarebytes? In standard mode it really doesn't scan fully. Check under settings and if it isn't doing everything then enable the extras and run it again.
Second, run Hijackthis and post the results here. Do not do as the software itself suggests and run it from it's own directory but instead run it from the desktop. Some viruses actually disable hijackthis if it is running in it's own directory.
Third. Download and run Avira Antivir it's actually pretty good at detecting rootkits. Once again when setting it up choose all scanning options so that the rootkit scanning is enabled.
And seriously, run Hijackthis and post the results here. Professionals who can be hired to remove viruses are no more knowledgeable and experienced than many amature enthusiasts. And in many cases less knowledgeable. There may be something that one of us can spot due to having seen the same thing ourselves. -
Believe it or not Quint there are missions that aren't farms. It's quite possible to complete every part of a mission and not come anywhere close to the ticket cap.
-
Are you using two monitors? CoH has been known to have problems with dual monitors. If you are then switch to single monitor and try again to see if that works.
-
It wasn't the argument of the mission being a farm or not being a farm that triggered me. It was the "I pay my subscription so the devs have to do it the way I want it." attitude.
Let's say you have a subscription to a magazine. Game Informer as an example. Then somebody goes of on a rant in the online forums saying that all FPS articles should be put at the front of the magazine since they are the most important and that all sports game coverage be eliminated because sports are stupid.
Some people argue against the post, some argue for. But then the OP drags out their big guns and states that the magazine should do things the way the OP prefers because his subscription money is paying for the magazine to even be put out.
That would be an pretty silly attitude wouldn't it? There are very few people in this world who seem to believe that since they buy food at McDonalds, the company better jump to obey when that person demands the return of the McRib. There are very few people who think that they can demand content be tailored to them because they pay a magazine subscription or cable bill. And those who do demand such things generally wind up in the news as a "Look at the looney" story. But for some reason the MMO players who think that their subscription entitles them to control of game policy seem to be legion. -
It is a known bug (well, known in the forums at any rate and I have bugged it myself). It acts as if the objects have to aggro before you can attack them. So far I haven't seen it happen if the object is guarded, only when it is solo. I've also heard you can initially damage the object with AOE or damage fields.

Extra long load times followed by a crash are almost always too little ram. I'm guessing half a gig in this case since there is a huge wait even at the first loading screen.
-
Overheating video card. Do not, I repeat do not run anything video intensive again until you have checked your card to make sure that it is dust free and that the fan is spinning normally.
If it is dust free and the fan is spinning normally then go ahead and push the card as hard as you want. That sucker is good as dead anyway. -

there is something wrong with my character, and to log out and in again.

I have never ever seen a message like that, and if I did my first suspicion would be a possible keylogger generated message. -

Funny thing about Vet rewards. When I hit 3 months I got all the VRs for 36 months (or something like that) luky me.
[/ QUOTE ]
YOu need to report that. Its a bug and not supposed to happen. Nor is it fair to anyone else who actually PAID for that time.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not too much of a need for that. It's been mentioned that they are working on finding that particular bug and once they do they will be removing all the falsely granted vet rewards and other bonuses. By other bonuses I mean that some people also got the GvE items. -
I never use the board's search function. I google it with the qualifier site:boards.cityofheroes.com
Much more accurate and I can make multiple searches all within a few seconds rather than having to wait between searches. -
A Virus that refuses to leave and total destruction of all the stuff you worked so hard on including the backups.
That is a pronouncement of doom usually made by somebody who doesn't know much about virus removal and who has one of the really crappy anti virus programs like Symantec or PcCillin.
If the computer runs at all then start it in safe mode and run Hijackthis then post the results here. Odds are that there is a specific removal tool for the virus you have. And even if it can't be removed I can pretty much guarantee it can be disabled so that you can copy all your files safely before reformatting the drive. -
I wound up replacing them with unexploded Rikti bombs and just renaming and describing them as generators. Not perfect but better than an obelisk I suppose.

I think there may be a bug with the experiment emote, or else an issue with my sound drivers.
Is anybody else occasionally faintly hearing the pouring sound from the emote even when nobody is anywhere in sight doing it? It's almost as if the sound were given a much much greater radius than standard sounds. -

That's what Beta programs are for Mandu, repeat after me... BETA... BETA... B-E-T-A!!!
[/ QUOTE ]
Why in the world would anybody bother to farm in Beta? A farmer would try a few things out, find possible exploits, and then save those techniques for live.
Beta takes place on the test server. TEST... TEST... T-E-S-T.
You know the place where your characters could get wiped at any time just because the devs want to try something?
The place that can and does get locked away from player use for a month or more at a time when internal testing is going on?
The place where advancement and money don't really matter because you can populate all server slots with your purple IOd billionaire toon and then swap all that stuff over to any other toon you care to create?
The power gamers aren't going to waste their time figuring out all the exploits in Beta just so the exploit gets fixed before it gets to live. That's like playing chess and continually telling your opponent the next five moves you are going to make.
