Game Password will not work (Please Read)

To make a long story short, reactivated account (Got the activation email), tried to log on and it says the password is incorrect.

So far I have tried two things:


1) Resetting my password multiple times to make sure I was using the correct one.

2) Checked to make sure I was using the right version of the game, I am from NA and was using the correct client, but I installed the NA client again and still not working.


First had this issue friday night, sent emails and help requests but because Ncsoft has no weekend tech support, I have yet to get answers. Searched on and off the last two days on Google and these boards for an answer, and all of them seem to be the same, that you're using the wrong client.


Played for more than two years of IG time, so I have had no problems logging in hundreds of times, I am just supremely frustrated and looking for answers.

Were you entering your Game Account password or your NCSoft Master Account password?

Which did you change?

Also, it can take some time for the account activation servers and game servers to synchronize information. In other words, even though you've successfully activated the account that information may not have made it to the game servers as of yet.


If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Well I subscribed over 48 hours ago, and got the activation email, so I would HOPE it doesn't take that long.


And I was using my game account, played the game for 26 months, so I know the difference between the two.

not sure what else to suggest other than the obvious and mandatory: "CAPS LOCK"

This probably isn't your problem.. but it had to be put out there. lol

Beside that, you'll have to contact support. It really shouldn't take long to reactivate an account. I'd say more than 1 hour is already way too long.

48 hours ago would have been Friday afternoon/evening. They may not have run a synchronization between the two servers that late in the day on a Friday.


If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Thanks to tech support, we got it fixed.


It was my fault, passwords cannot be more than 13 characters long, mine was 14.


It wasn't something I even considered checking, so I feel rather stupid over it.

Thank you for reporting back. That 13 character limit is something else we can look for when people are having this problem.

It still seems rather odd that they don't have error checking working for when you changed your password to be longer than allowed. It "should" have given you a message that your password did not meet the correct requirements, preferably with an explanation of what those requirements are.
