Lusca.
I've never had any reason to fight Lusca after I did it on my badger way way back in the day. It was a long drawn out fight filled with wipes. It felt good when we finally took it down, but I've never ever wanted to do it again.
In fairness, I've learned a lot in the intervening years, and I'm sure it wouldn't be too bad. But I just have an aversion to it. -
You have to actually go talk to Arbiter Rein in Grandville and choose a Patron. It's not automatic like Hero side.

And HC would always play second fiddle to Fault due to having a 50% longer recharge, costing more endurance, and being a cone versus a true AOE.
[/ QUOTE ]
You sure it's a cone? I took the info from CoD that lists the power as an AoE, 15 foot radius. I'm not home so I cannot get the power ingame.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yea, CoD says PBAoE. Not sure where cone came from. -
Oh, sorry Clouded. Easy to get distracted. Yea, all for your fix. Anything to bring parity

And Kruunch, I don't have anything in front of me, but FS quicker cast and slightly higher damage along w/ rage are better then tremor, add k/d to h/c and ss would make a run at Ice for tanker control set.
[/ QUOTE ]
Tremor casts at an eternal 3.3, Footstomp at a less eternal 2.1
44.49 vs 63.17, smashing -
[ QUOTE ]
Ace: How would that make SS any different from Stone then, which currently does have two AOE KD powers? You think Stone is overpowered?
[/ QUOTE ]
Because while the KD is nice, Tremor's damage isn't even worth mentioning. As compared to Footstomp's, which is much better.
Long a proponent of reducing the KB mag to 0.67 and letting people slot for it. But I also agree that doing that to Handclap would make SS too good. One awesome aoe stun, one awesome aoe damage, and Rage? vs Stone's one awesome aoe stun, worthless aoe damage, and... Build Up? -
By the gods, where did this come from and WHY are we just now finding it????
I can run as high as 7 power trays on some of my 50's. I like to be able to at least see everything I have access to, rather than digging through that obnoxiously long list under Powers, or flicking through trays. This would reduce my screen clutter by preposterous amounts.
WHY MUST I FIND THIS WHILE I'M AT WORK?!?!?!?! -
The 10% is a little disappointing, but as Aett said, think more about the damage, and take the Stun as a bonus. And remember you're ideally firing it off in a spawn of many enemies, so that 10% chance isn't bad.
My Fire/Stone/Earth has become quite a tanktroller with the new Earth. Quicksand for slows (few more ticks from Burn) and -def, Stalagmites for damage and some stun to stack with Fault's already awesome stun, KD from Fault and Tremor, and of course the KD from hammers and hold from Seismic. The spawn spends so much of it's time bouncing or drunk walking they hardly have time to do anything else. -
If you're going for heavy Storm theme, Storm/Elec Def is where it's at. Nothing feels more almighty stormy thunder god. Problem with that is that Elec isn't a great performer in the damage department.
If you're going for a "weather" theme, Ice/Storm Troller. Plenty of toys, some nice overlapping effects, and theme in spades.
Plant/Storm is a wild beast that rends faces.
Storm/Sonic melts things.
Storm/Dark traps things, then debuffs the crap out of them, then eats their souls.
Earth/Storm has so many location AoEs and controls that you'll actually go looking for multi-spawn locations just to be able to use them all.
AR/Storm is a sexy sexy AoE death machine. Cones + positioning= maximum bloodshed
Ninja/Storm let's you see exactly why Tsoo Sorcs are so universally reviled. And then you may laugh. Maniacally.
Ill/Storm is maximum chaos with minimum risk. Embrace the chaos and it will allow you to control the whole battlefield.
(Yes, I have played/am playing all of these)
On the subject of knockback: don't feel pigeon-holed into a /Storm troller just because people are foolish about KB. You don't have to be one of them, and all it takes is a little thought and practice to use KB to your team's advantage. Anyone who complains about intelligently used KB is short-sighted and lazy.
tl;dr Go for theme. Learn to use KB. Profit. -

Have you ever had the experience of falling in love with one of your characters.
[/ QUOTE ]
I absolutely, positively, adore Taxibot Belle, on Infinity.
[/ QUOTE ]
I must entangle my own tale of character love with a big QFE on this one. I started out on Infinity. My namesake Fireforged was growing up in the days of Status_Crow and House_Call, when the PCSAR and the Taxi services were in their heyday, saving lives and transporting the hapless newbs (including myself) in Perez Park and the Hollows. Belle and the Taxis make me nostalgic about those glory days.
When new content emerges, I head home to Infinity. Fireforged has been my main since my first days, is my badger, and still my favorite character (despite being a Fire/ Tank). He will continue to face all the challenges that Paragon City requires of him, until the servers shut down.
And whenever I come back to Infinity, I keep an eye out for Taxibot Belle on broadcast wherever I'm at. Badge/history tours, trivia contests, normal taxi services, whatever it may be. She is the single sweetest/most helpful/most vibrant person/character/avatar I've met in all of my travels across the servers. I've had the privilege of running several of Johnny's Saturday TF's with her, and not only is her breadth of knowledge about CoX extensive, she is a more than competent player, and brings an energetic optimism to even the most dire situations. If there were a Taxibot Belle for Mayor campaign, you can bet I'd sign up to canvas the city -

Regarding Atlas Park, I still get a chill when I bring a new character in from the tutorial and I hear that heroic music playing and all the colorful costumes all around. Just my opinion, and I've never played any other MMOs, but I think that gives a better, "Wow, I'm a super-hero!" feel to a first-time player than would a Giant Monster that you can't really fight yet.

QFT
My time trialing that other not to be named game, every starter zone I came to was like "Ok, that central building is kind of groovy. And... there's some trees. Great." They dump you unceremoniously into the world.
EVE starts you off in the bowels of a space station.
Compared to those; starting out at the steps of Atlas, with heroic swelling music, a giant statue above you, and hundreds of multi-colored heroes flitting about... I think the newb experience there is just fine. Getting stepped on by a Giant Hellion would just confuse the hell out of them (The broadcast spam is confusing enough).
Random other points:
- If they could do weather and not melt my GPU, I'd be forever grateful.
- The civvies are very, very diverse, you just don't notice any more. We all get blind to the background after being vets.
- You can get the in game time from civvies. Civvies are a wealth of information. They all have something to say, based on the first letter of their name. I would hate hate hate the game reflecting real time, because then "kill CoT in KR, which only come out at night" would require me to wait HOURS to do so.
It's always good to voice ideas. But like Aett said, don't be surprised if people shoot holes in them. Especially when some of them have already been answered elsewhere. -

How To Get To Other Zones
Travel in CoX is a breeze compared to most games. At the most fundamental, there is the Tram system hero side and the Ferry/Helicopter Line red side. Anyone can use these. All you have to do is survive the journey to and from. Click to interface, and a selection screen will appear, and you can click your destination. Some, like the Ferry system, have a walk up system, where you enter the ferry and the screen pops up. Note that for the Tram system, the part of the station you exit from is not the same as the one you depart from. You have to run around to the central part of the terminal if you wish to travel again.
Similar in function, there are what Ill call transitive zones: Ouroboros, Pocket D, and the Rikti War Zone. These zones will allow you swift access to a number of other zones, with a minimal amount of travel within them. In Ouroboros and RWZ, its a matter of turning around and clicking the portal you just came through. Pocket D, you have to run a short ways to the hub through the elevator. From there, there are several exits that will have an attendant who will tell you which door goes where.
At low levels, you might rely on Sprint (or any of the Prestige Sprints) to get around more quickly. The auto pool powers in Fitness, Swift and Hurdle, also help slightly without costing any endurance.
There are Temporary powers that can be won from a successful Mayhem/Safeguard mission that last for 2 hours of total usage.
Then there are the actual Travel power pools: Fly, Super Jump, Super Speed, and Teleport. Each has a utility/defensive power as a prerequisite at level 6, and the main travel is available at level 14. The Travel powers are relatively costly on Endurance, with the assumption that you will not be using them in combat. To reinforce this point, the powers will suppress if you attack: you will slow down to regular speed for a short time (3 seconds or so). This was put in place to prevent jousting the enemy: moving in at high speed with an attack queued, hitting them, and being out of range before they could retaliate. The suppression prevents you from escaping at high speed after an attack.
From there, the options expand almost geometrically. There are base teleporters if you are part of an SG/VG. There are character specific teleportation options, such as the base Teleporter veteran award, the Wentworths teleporter Day Job power, and something like half a dozen more as of this writing.
(Plus possibly a spreadsheet of zone connections if I can find one or find someone who's already done it. Or just link to Badge Hunter)

How To Level Up & Get More Powers
In nearly every zone, there is a trainer. This trainer is marked by a white icon with a green person inside it. Villain side, this is a faceless, though named, Arbiter. Hero side, it is a named Hero from game lore. When you activate a Trainer by clicking on them, a dialogue window appears. This window displays a greeting, available levels, your current experience, experience needed for next level, and various topics of interest or opportunities based on your level. If you have available levels to train, you will be able to select that option. That option will immediately open your power selection screen, similar to the window you used to choose your first powers, or what you see when you go to Enhancements->Manage.
It will open in one of two ways. If you are at a power selection level, you will be able to see all current and future powers. Those that are highlighted are available to you. Those that are greyed out are not yet available, due to level restrictions, or in the case of pool powers and epic powers, other power selections from within that pool that have not been taken previously. You must select a power, and hit Next to exit the screen. Optionally, if you are not ready to pick, you can also hit Back. Note that especially for pool powers, that take you to additional screens, you must make sure that after selecting the power and returning to the previous screen, that that power shows up as highlighted before you hit next. It is possible to browse through powers, believe you clicked the right one, and without making sure, click Next and be stuck with a power you didnt intend.
The other way it will open is if you are at a slot acquisition level. The only powers you will see are the ones you have that are slottable (veteran powers, temporary powers, accolade powers, for example, are not slottable). You must assign slots to one of those powers and hit Next to exit. Optionally, if you are not ready to pick, you can also hit Back. The pop-up tool tips will tell you what Enhancements types and what set types can be slotted into that specific power. Not all powers can be slotted for the same things, so be thorough.
A Trainer will suggest you visit a specific tailor at levels 20, 30, and 40 to unlock additional costume slots. You will have to run a single mission for that tailor, which consists of defeating a certain enemy type, usually to convince them to leave the tailor alone. At that point, the costume slot will unlock.
A Trainer will also give you the option at levels 15, 25 and 35 to change the descriptive titles that appear above your character name. At 50, you may do this ad infinitum at any Trainer.
Trainers also have a list of pre-generated topics that they are willing to discuss with you. Topics like Inventions, leveling, etc. -

That's a great idea.
Where are going to post it, here? On the forums?
You don't see, maybe... uhh... a slight problem with that?
[/ QUOTE ]
Already halfway done. Planning on posting it to Google docs, if I can figure that out, and in the Guides section. I think his intention was for people on the forums to be able to direct others to it, whether it be here, online, or direct pasted into an email. I can post the pieces I have done here for review. -

Personally I will WALK to Mountain View and bow down before the devs if they make Carnie costume pieces unlockable - the masks, the dresses, and the weapons would rock. Even the outfits the Seneschals wear would be fantastic.
(For example, instead of Fire Sword, gimme that torch and let me swing that sucker around!)
[/ QUOTE ]
Let me get my walkin shoes.
I would be equally grateful for such a boon. While the jester masks, parts, and new bolero go a long way toward a Carnie look, I'd love to be able to get closer. I started the Carnival of Light SG on Champion (heh, Hi Dollhouse! Assumed someone else somewhere had to have done similar) on a lark one day, and while I got the costumes pretty good, they could be so much better. -
Seismic Smash is made of finality. I always imagine the sound of skull and spine *snapping* deliciously as two fists of solid rock crash down on your dome.
Another vote for Slug dropping a runner. My character gets this smug "Oh please" grin and snaps off a quick round into the guy's spinal cord.
And another for KO Blow and Heavy Mallet. Those are hard to beat. Pretty much anything that sends your enemy flying, dead.
Edit: In honor of my 2001st post, and my personal hero, the late Sir Arthur C. Clarke, I direct your orbits and aurals here. -
I'm with Cat on this: people are most of the reason I play, and the market is just a place to buy IOs. If the market didn't exist, IOs would be extremely difficult to make and I would have stuck with SOs, and nothing would have really changed from the first couple years I played.

Ah, well with that clarification: no.
We've had a few top 100's, but we server hop so much that maintaining any kind of position on any single one detracts from our fun.
