Very nice guide and very timely for me too. I've just been levelling up a dark/invuln tanker and wanted to softcap defence by IOs - freeing me up to take the spiritual incarnate alpha slot.

Not a bad chart. I like it.
I just figure that there will always be a team forming for the WST TF that week. Finding teams faster and easier is always a good thing.
The other bonus is that people playing the WST are usually competent players that know what they're doing. That really offsets the PUGitis that you might see.
I'll give credit to the devs: I really like the WST idea and how they worked it into the incarnate storyline. It can be a bit of a grind, but the very next week there will be something else to grind to! -
Having the ability to put 2 builds on a character, I made a bane build after levelling my crab to 50. I've since liquidated the crab build to get rid of the crablegs and to slot up this new build.
As for endurance, I only have assault, maneuvers and the status resistance ones running. Non-inherent fitness stamina is 3-slotted with 2 level 50 EndMod IOs and Performance shifter chance for +End. The PS IO is indeed useful and I think it's more effective than having a 3rd EndMod slotted in. Now with only those 3 toggles, I have no endurance problems.
My plan is to someday respec this character to have inherent fitness with 4 slots (so to include the 3rd EndMod IO, or the PS EndMod IO) and possibly take tough/weave.
I haven't respeced yet because I'm not sure how much I want tough/weave. I already added global S/L and mele/ranged/AOE defenses through IOs that give me more than enough protection in teams. Solo this so far has been ok, although I can do better.
So without cardiac, I've started to slot up musculature. I'll likely go for the core paragon in time as I like the idea of having +45% damage that's unaffected by ED. -
It seems to me that any Mind/* dom could solo the LRSF in this manner (using confuse). Do you have to have /fire as a secondary to pull this off to finish off the last AV?
-
I love these costume ideas, especially the tigers and minotaurs!
I'll gladly buy it when it comes out though. I really got fed up with trying to get the free codes [for the coralax costume] over Facebook. I'll be glad to pay for it and save the aggravation. -
If slotted into your single-target confuse power, then you have a very good chance to confuse others.
It might not do much on top of an AOE confuse power, but it'll likely get one or two additional critters that you've missed.
If slotted into an electric dominators chain confuse power, then each part of the chain might get an additional confuse out of it. On my elec dom, it makes this power seem more like an AOE. Personally I love it and use it every time it cycles back. -
I understood that if a single character does the STF and then the RSF during this WST, they would get two 'notice of the well'. Is that true?

I can't say much about the playability, although I've heard dark/storm can be very controllerish.
Moreover, I really like the concept. -

So far, I can't make up my mind as to how develop the alpha slot for my SOA. I have two builds on this character, both a Widow build and a Fortunata build.
Both are heavily slotted with IOs (Widow is better slotted for now), so there's plenty of recharge.
Luckily, I know the choice is reversible and the enhancements are interchangeable, so I will develop several enhancements for this slot. Still, I feel there's a lot of room to cover so I was wondering what to develop first.
So what have you guys out there done about slotting your widow and/or fortunata. -
I'll be glad when this one's over.
Now abuse of the AE has been going on ever since it was presented. -
Will the tip mission be available at all levels?

Quote:I totally expected to only get the +rech on the initial JC. Just with as many times as I've been casting it, I expected to get the bonus more often. As it lasts only 5 seconds, I'm probably missing it 1/2 the time.this had me confused for a while as well. but appears the chance for procs in jolting chain =
- if the proc affects you, like the chance for recharge, it only checks on the initial target
- if the proc affects them, like the chance for damage procs, then it checks for every target hit.
Now if damage procs have a chance of going off with each target - that would be awesome and certainly worth slotting JC to be a proc power. -
Quote:I might be looking at the damage differently or was wrong with my math (I'll have to check later). I have to agree about the proc though. That in the least should go in JC.I prefer Armageddon in Jolting Chain. The proc adds 35.31 points of damage on average (107*0.33).
I personally use 5 parts Amrageddon, forgoing the pure damage enhancement. Under this situation, Lightning Bolt would do 203 points of damage with the addition of the proc. With the exact same slotting, Jolting Chain is averaging 55 points of damage per target hit. You will have more total damage when 4-16 targets are hit, roughly doubling at 8, tripling at 12, and quadrupling at 16.
As of right now, I currently have Force feedback +Rech in it. I've been spamming JC like crazy for the boost, but it's not coming out nearly enough as I would like. -
I have a simple either/or question for my elec/elec dominator:
I'm about to start buying up the purple IO set for ranged damage - Armageddon.
I'd normally slot this in my best (most damaging), ranged power (in this case, Lightning Bolt).
I was thinking though, in large groups, would it be more worthwhile to slot this into Jolting Chain - a ranged power with the potential to hit 16 targets. It looks to me that jolting chain would do more damage if at least 8 targets get hit. Keeping in mind though, that is more damage but is spread out over several targets. Now if it would ever hit the 16-target max it would do double the damage of Lightning bolt (again, spread over 16 targets though).
So, with that in mind, I have a question:
1. Do you think I should put Armageddon into Lightning Bolt, or Jolting Chain? Or does it not matter with ED?
Thanks in advance for your time and effort oh ye great forum of crowd-sourcing. -

I have both a mind/elec and and elec/elec dominator.
Certainly, the mind dom locks things down better and I think does more damage.
I love the end drain with the elec/elec, only that its a bit lack luster against EBs and AVs. Perhaps if 3+ elec doms were draining an EB/AV together it would be effective.
Still, with all that said, I've found the elec dom really fun. Certainly it has more than enough control to solo and play well in teams. Indeed, I think elec is just more fun than mind. So to each his/her own. -
yes! you just lit them up!
Will they come back again? -

Well, they must be back down again. I'm getting the DB Server message as well. This time, I'm getting it after I log into a character instead of logging into a server.
-
I just wanted to say that I really like the idea of commissioning arc authorship.
I was thinking of doing this with real money, but billions of INF is certainly better (and likely not a breach of the user aggreement).
I just might do the same thing.

What if the inherent version of fitness was un-slottable?
This way, you can still take the fitness power pool and still stack with the inherent version (but you'd have less impetus to do so).

I think that the jolting chain power was altered (many would say nerfed) to be knock-back where it once was knockdown. This has materially diminished the effectiveness of the set for me as the knock-back would knock critters out of my static field.
Typically, they just walk right back in but with more ranged critters this becomes a bit of a problem.
