How are you alpha slotting your Widow/Fort
I've got Musculature *something* Boost. I like it so far. I'm trying to decide if I want to go Musculature Core Paragon or Musculature Radial Paragon eventually.
Musculature Core paragon is good for ~33% extra damage, but nothing else.
Musculature Radial paragon is good for ~24% extra damage, but also provides ~33% run speed, ~30% Endurance Modification, and ~20% to hit debuff.
My Widow/Fort has enough Recharge to perma hasten and ML, as well as run ST chains I am satisfied with.
Which left me with two choices:
- Musculature approx +30% Damage (with the eventual ultra rare)
- Cardiac for approx +30% end reduction (with the eventual ultra rare)
My Fortunata is almost fully IO'd out(with maybe...one or two purple sets I'm saving up for)
and already had perma-link...which is all I really needed.
Now, I have decent damage, and didn't really run out of end unless I was spamming my AOEs or my normal attacks ALOT.
but I DO run 7 or 8 toggles, depending on if I launch darkest night.
so....I went ahead with the cardiac tree, I figured...why not? it helps ALOT.
and the 20% range from the 2nd tier cardiac boost doesn't hurt that much either, as I'm sure the higher tiers will be significant as well.
Magisterum- 50+3 Fortunata--Virtue
Lukerion- 33 Emp/Rad Defender--Virtue
Noah Heartily- 34 SS/SD brute- Virtue
Mika Heartily- 50+1 Fire/MM blaster-Virtue
I've found myself using both Cardiac and Musculature uncommons. For more normal play, Musculature is a slight damage boost; for extended combats and high-effort soloing, Cardiac keeps my end from being an issue.
So like, Musculature doing missions, Cardiac soloing AVs.

Currently running musculature. IIRC my fort does pretty well on end, but I'll probably pick up a common Cardiac just to test.

I'm toggle heavy on my Fort, so I'm running with Cardiac Radial. I've got an uncommon of each type, and I need to get Cardiac Core for the ranged boost as opposed to my 1% increase in Psi Resist from Radial.
Cardiac for my widow. Like every other widow player, I went for high recharge to get ML perma. As a result of her attacks recharging so fast, she's a bit of an endurance hog. This is with some +rec/end proc IOs slotted. Cardiac definitely helped a lot on that front.

Not having to pay much attention to the blue bar in the absence of autohit recovery and endurance debuffs is nice.
Just for the hell of it here's the build my Widow is using:

I don't even run Placate anymore. The amount of dmg you can do in the amount of time it would take to activate placate is greater than the amount of extra dmg that would get from the partial crit (for ST at least). Infact I actually picked up Confront instead and have enjoyed having that on my widow quite a bit, especially for tanking Recluse on the STF with it
|
Yeah, i mostly just use Placate before hitting Spin or Eviscerate, and when fighting large groups it's almost better to just use it for Spin since enemies are more likely to move out of Eviscerate's cone if i use Placate just before it.
Confront's not a bad idea. She tends to be less squishy than some (most?) of her teammates. Although Teleport is tempting as well.

I went nerve on my Night Widow and cardiac on my Fortunata. Those are the only two that actually can help me because neither of them need recharge or damage for that matter.
"People love to talk, but hate to listen." Alice Duer Miller, American Author (1874-1942)
My Fortunata is very IOed and in the end, I took double Assault, double Maneuver, one Tactics, Tough, Weave, Hover and during AV fights, I run Darkest Night which costs a lot of end.
Cardiac is AMAZING even at first level.
My old build didn't take nearly as many toggles and she used to use Muscular. The amount of +damage increase is ok. I think having Tough is much better because I went from dying in one hit from Battle Maiden to surviving one major hit!
What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.
So far, I can't make up my mind as to how develop the alpha slot for my SOA. I have two builds on this character, both a Widow build and a Fortunata build.
Both are heavily slotted with IOs (Widow is better slotted for now), so there's plenty of recharge.
Luckily, I know the choice is reversible and the enhancements are interchangeable, so I will develop several enhancements for this slot. Still, I feel there's a lot of room to cover so I was wondering what to develop first.
So what have you guys out there done about slotting your widow and/or fortunata.
