Any thoughts on Dark/Storm/Leviathan?
I have a lvl 50 Storm/Dark defender and it's probably one of my most fun toons. If you haven't noticed yet, probably the best power from both sets synergize very well. Tenebrous Tentacles + Freezing Rain is great since TT doesn't prevent KB.
Hurricane + all the -ToHit from your blasts stacks to provide quite a bit of safety.
Dark Pit + Thunderclap stack to stun bosses. The only problem with this is that you have to be in melee.
I would say that the must have powers from dark are Dark Blast, Gloom, TT and NF. Life Drain is solid and provides a self heal that you don't get from Storm. Dark Pit is decent and even better if you use thunderclap. Torrent's ok, but you already have Gale, so I'd skip it. Moonbeam and Blackstar are more personal taste.
For Storm, I'd definitely take Gale (since you have to), Steamy Mist, Freezing Rain, Hurricane, Tornado, and Lightning Storm. O2 Boost is a mediocre ST Heal, but decent for the sleep/stun and end drain protection. If you team a lot it's a pretty good choice. Snow Storm is ok, and Thunderclap is skippable unless you plan to stack it with Dark Pit.
I doubt being in melee will be a problem, with Hurricane+DarkBlastToHitDebuffs keeping me safe, and I didn't have anything else to spend those two power picks on, so Thunderclap+Dark Pit might get a fair bit of use from me. Thanks for the tip - I'd never have even considered Dark Pit without the idea of stacking it with Thunderclap to make it actually useful.
I can't say much about the playability, although I've heard dark/storm can be very controllerish.
Moreover, I really like the concept.

My dark storm has all his powers light and dark tan and looks like a mummy. Sandblaster!

The immobilize from TT works quite nicely with Storm powers. One thing worth noting is that both Lightning Storm and Tornado have an "avoid" effect, making mobs want to flee from them. Being able to immobilize them to keep them from running is quite valuable. It also helps once you've Galed/Hurricaned them into a corner to keep them from running out.
Once you get all the tools from Storm you will pretty much never have problems with any boss that is not KB resistant. With Hurricane running push/Gale them into a corner, throw up Lightning Storm and throw a Tornado at them. They will spend the rest of the fight bouncing in that corner.
The problem you will run into is primarily with EBs with the PToD. They will resist the KB, but not the avoid effect from LS and 'nado. What that means is that they will run for the hills and you won't be able to stop them. You could spam TT to immobilize them, but that will probably be too endurance intensive to maintain.
My experience was that I had to simply not use LS or 'nado while fighting PToD EBs. It sucked, but waiting a few minutes for an EB to return only to have it run to the *** end of the map again after taking one shot from the LS is worse.
I don't like that the set is designed in such a way that some of its better tools can't be used against harder targets, but IMO this is compensated somewhat by how much the set pwns everywhere else.
I would definitely be curious to see a build for this one.
Well mine is Dark/Storm/Mu, but maybe the OP will return and post their build.
In case you don't know, Dark Blast's Life Drain is going to be better. It will have 1.67 damage scale (like a typical tier 2 attack), with 8s recharge (instead of 15s!) and endurance cost is reduced to 8ish. With good -recharge, you can leech health pretty often!
I want to make true Vampire build and so far, I am leaning towards Dark/Storm. Dark/dark is too typical. I'll have two stun powers and good cones.
What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.
Theme: Malevolent ocean spirit (Dark powers colored like seawater). Currently I just hit level 10, so Leviathan isn't going to be in the picture for a very long time, but I figured I'd mention it anyway.
In any case, I've never played a Stormy before, though I have a Dark/Dark in the high forties - so I know what powers I like in general from the Dark Blast set, just not how well they synergize with any Storm Summoning powers. Really, I just like to get a little advice before trying new things, so I'm more likely to get it right the first time.
So... what can anyone tell me?
