I could've sworn the level up effect at 50 was more intense and brighter/louder than the 49 previous ones.
Could just be my perception though, since that ding is usually watched for more than others. -
Interesting, that was the part that took it from a 'give it a shot' to 'why bother' for me...
The bike I can get behind, looks cool and is much faster than a typical bike.
The shooting webs and then riding said webs with speed... deal breaker.
For one, Spidey's webbing is intrinsic to him, so he's either shared the chemical formula he uses with Shield or...
For another, look at how the webbing shoots out like a harpoon gun from the bottom. Needing two points connected to use. How often is that application really going to be useful? I fail to see how his normal webslinging would be any slower than trying to manipulate that machine thru the air. /head desk
Shame really, the Iron Spidey looked cool and might be an interesting side story of why/how he gets his hands on Stark Tech. But with the bike nonsense and the addition of Chibi moments, which worked for the more anime oriented Titans but felt really out of place in the one scene here, I doubt I'll be able to get into it at all.
That said, the Spider-Man that came out on Mtv a few years back turned me off with the preview, as the huge eyes were just so jarring and comical. Still I gave the show a chance and it proved to be a very faithful interpretation.
The bike turned me off from this enough to not bother though, unless popular opinion suggests otherwise. -
If it's anything like the animated series was, I'll be interested in it.
The animated series was a rare find I happened to stumble upon, thought to myself 'this is going to be garbage' and was actually shocked it wasn't. -
I noticed this during the prep for last weeks Ship Raid. With just one Umbra out next to me, the non stop looping bark got really old after 15 minutes. So old I had to move away from the guy.
I listened to that one single dog barking constantly.. as in 'It Never Stops' and the first thought I had was, good lord Beast Summoning is going to be annoying.
Not sure that's the response they're looking for. Perhaps the frequency can be turned down, or have a longer gap or something. -
No, wasn't PL'd to 50. Made this guy back in September I think.
Just a lot of soloing, with blues being enough, and some CEBR here and there.
Thanks for the advice!

I should probably add a little more background.
The character is already 50, with the Agility Boost slotted. Didn't take Power Sink til last cause I never really needed it leveling up.
Everything there is slotted as is on live, plus I have 700 million to spend on him.
I want to keep Fly, mainly for ease of use during Ship Raids. (This is my Talsor)
I don't use Stealth, it's a mule for LotG. Which is already slotted. I'm open for other alternatives though, if the 2 LotG's I have are overkill.
Taunt is also picked simply for use in our weekly Ship Raids (on Pinn) to facilitate dragging the surrounding mobs into the bowl. I found the taunt aura in my attacks to be lacking. If it's really penalizing me I can look at dropping it.
My main goal is to make this toon as efficient as possible for the weekly Raids and eventually attempting i-trials. -
This is the first character I've really been invested in enough to play past 50.
This is also the first character I've really bothered to use sets with.
Up til now I've mainly dabbled in frankenslotting and SO's. I've actually never posted a build here as a result.
I'm not looking for anything really extravagant, this is pretty much how my build is set on live currently, with a few adjustment I plan to make.
This was done just going off the descriptions and teaching myself as I went though, so I'd like to get the expert opinions on places I can improve/ cut out fat etc. Main thing I find myself needing is more defense, I've got the Agility boost already slotted. So...

I've got around 700 million I can spend on him and most of those sets are already slotted, I want to keep fly for concept reasons but everything else is up for debate.
So let the slaughter begin. -
The OP's most likely already T4'd...
This thread is 6 months old afterall. >.<
As info for anyone else looking though, LSK's info is good. -
Quote:You just reminded me about a thread I'd made and subsequently forgotten all about, since it got literally 0 responses. I'm guessing nobody cares to have animals for Controllers.I know BM is strictly for the MM Archtype, however is it wrong of me to also want it as a secondary set for Controllers?! Here me out here... It would not be so wrong to combine Plant Control with BM, which in effect would make for a druidic themed toon?
Nah... couldn't do that...
Obligatory link: Beasts for Controllers -
The Dev's mentioned in yesterday's coffee talk that Shards are being phased out entirely. Was more of a stop gap measure put in place to kick off the system. Threads will be the mainstay currency from here on out.

You forgot the complaints about the complainers.

Quote:Indeed, flip the switch for Incarnates and have the enemies have to blitz us like we're the AV. Make them be warned to bring a team for back-up before facing us.*Snipped
They don't win by boosting their health bar to ridiculous levels so they can expect to solo a full 8-man team. They bring their own 8-man team.
I'd like to see more along that vein.

What it (holding Staff til next month) indicates to me is that we've finally exhausted the inventory of backlog they'd been working on leading up to Freedom.
Now we'll start to see just how much/what our money gets us monthly, with the resources they can bring to bear.
I wasn't overly upset over Staff being held back, just really eager to play it!
I can understand 100% from a business stand point why they are doing it this way.
Getting it all laid out by ZWill, how they have so many things actually going on, brings back some perspective for me and renews my faith that they don't see the game going anywhere. Quite the juggling act they are performing, with issues all the way up to 34 planned, next 2 issues already being worked on, weekly updates to the market, behind-the-scenes development peeks (which have to be stressful for them)
All in all, despite some of my disappointments here and there, Paragon Studios is still by and far the most respectable in the biz. I voice my opinions on pricing and such mainly to continue that tradition, hoping to avoid a downward spiral that ends with forgetting how this game was forged.
Issue 22, a week later?
I have an Incarnate ability slotted for the first time ever, without stepping foot in a trial, that is good enough for me! DA's story being excellent is gravy. -
I wouldn't say very difficult, depending on AT of course.
I was actually kind of shocked at how weak the allies are, found my Brute wishing he had a heal he could toss, before just up and leaving them all in the dust. I found them more beneficial helping clear spawns on the way to the ends though. -
Before any time and money is spent on a PvP zone, shouldn't PvP be fixed?
Fixing PvP would go a long way towards helping you with the boredom of RV, then you could use Warburg or Sirens or the Bay since players might actually be there PvPing... -
Mechs???!?!
Really???
Oh boy oh boy oh boy. I really hope that comes to fruition.
Nothing overly large mind you, perhaps a tad larger than the PPD hardsuit or such. -
I'm wondering if it's possible to add a new rank for enemies.
Say, one level above EB, one below AV.
Call them 'Generals' and only have them spawn for those encounters you want a bit more challenge to, without the PtoD. -
Seeing as the new preferred gathering spot for iTrials is DA...
Yeah, I guess a zombie thread would be ideal wouldn't it. -
I will agree that, after dying to 2 random unnamed bosses in spawns on the way to the end, not even taking a hit from Reqieum and Reichsman was a bit of a let down.
I stood there smiling, knowing I finally had the power to take them all by myself. Then 1 minute later I was wondering why I even bothered with them when I'm obviously light years above them in power now...
I wouldn't want them to be ultra-tough sacks of HP, but I don't want them to crumble like Blasters either! -
Realizing I could bind powers to the 'back' (button4) and 'forward' (button5) on my mouse revolutionized the way I play the game...
around 9 months ago. Really wished I'd known sooner.
Now, every character I have gets 2 binds by default.
/bind button4, inspexec_name Respite
/bind button5, powexec_name Fly (or applicable travel power)
This one change, binding Respites to the backclick, has saved my life more times than I can count.
The forward click for travel is just so much nicer than having to click the tray. Frees up a tray slot as well!
Those two binds, made WarShades playable for me for the first time ever as well!
on my WS backclick is Nova, forward is Dwarf and Shift+Backclick is human from both.

Quote:This I like the sound of! Was just cursing myself for losing focus near the end of an Oranbega map and not clicking energize quick enough...I
Oh, and while I am dreaming and suggesting, I would love a power that would transport you back to the exact place where you died...some of those maps are long and twisty..COT maps I am looking straight at you.
Lisa-Getting ready for Double XP, which is where I got this idea
Dreading the long haul back from the hosp and attempting to wind my way back through, yeah I just logged for the night instead.
