Earth/Storm is an amazingly powerful Controller. When used properly, but that goes without saying when talking about Storm.
My Earth/Storm 'feels' like a lockdown machine, with Gale and Huricane being essential for mob positioning etc.
Close 2nd place for me would be;
Fire/Rad - Doesn't come with as much 'Hard' control but makes up for it with added damage and the tools in /Rad are always welcome. -
While I agree with Kitsune and Shagster that they don't 'owe' us anything in compensation for it, knowing our Dev's and how well they treat us...
I smell a DoubleXP weekend coming soon!!

Quote:Shouldn't be a concern. All you need to do is press Passive and then instantly click follow. They'll clear their list and then go right back into BG mode. If you die in that short amount of time I doubt BG mode would save you anyways, considering your zombie wouldn't be in range anyways...Putting them into Passive is practically out of the question- there goes BG mode, and then bam, I'm basically three shot dead.
Truth is, I don't get the emphasis on BG mode being the end all be all. My Necro/Dark is 49 and I don't think I've used BG mode... ever. Preferring to not have the delay in attacking with them being in defensive mode. Perhaps if I was tankerminding, but that's another stroy. -
Not to mention that thanks to Issue 20, Twilight Grasp is now even better!

Dark all the way!!
Perfect synergy both in concept potential and in power matching, since you'll be able to double up on what your Lich and Dark Servant's can achieve! -
/Signed.
What's the point of calling it classic when it's obviously not?
I picked the new Team UI on the 1st toon I logged in, just to see what it looked like. After a few missions with a PUG I realized it was hampering my support speed, recalled the option to revert and took the time to find it in the menu...
Only to be presented with a slightly smaller version of the new one!?
Ummm.... Classic? Legacy Window option please? -
Quote:While I agree that the amount of varied currency is getting overwhelming, it's my understanding that it was a required nuisance. Otherwise you'd have players stocking up on Shards and unlocking everything 10 minutes after it's released...By your Incarnate Currencies combined......I AM CAPTAIN INCARNATE!!!!!!
Okay bad pun aside (yes it was bad I admit), we seriously do not need all these new currencies. Astral merits, I'm fine with those. Incarnate threads? Not so fine. I don't see why we couldn't just stick with shards. -
Yeah, I was Capt.
I love the R&C series as well!

This should prove to be an entertaining adventure!
I'm on board as The Renewal of Ra!
Looking forward to fleshing out the concept and meeting the rest of the group! -
Welcome to the boards and nice avatar Adol!

Quote:I see no real issue with this. If anything it'd be another useful way to burn influence. Since none of the Temps are better than our natural powers it shouldn't be a balance issue and would make sense thematically as well.Best idea I have seen so far. You could stop by the natural store for things like shotguns, frag grenades, and sledgehammers. Technology could have things EMP Gloves and grenades, and plasmatic tasers. Long bows and claymores for magic, and I'm not sure what you could do for mutant and science.

This suggestion would've been better made around 2007.
I think that's the last time I actually saw a CC being held anywhere, on any server...
It used to be that no more than a few hours would go by before another one would start up under Atlas. These days I don't even see it being advertised, save the pre-set forum organized ones.
In fact, I was so perplexed by the lack of CC's that I decided to try doing one myself for the 1st time, since I now have the bank to do so.
I advertised in Broadcast during primetime on Infinity.
CC starting under Atlas in 10 minutes. 1st place 500 million, 2nd place 100 million, 3rd place 50 million. Then I waited.... and waited...
20 minutes later I gave the 1 guy that ran over to the Statue his 'Winnings' and called it a night.
Then I got to wondering why this is. When in the past I would've been swarmed upon the announcement and had a line of at least 10 Heroes in front of me. My only conclusion was the prize offered was just small change these days, with so many ways to earn influence it just wasn't perceived as 'worth it' to stand around for minutes on end.
I miss the days of constant CC's. Sadly I feel those days are gone and devoting Dev time and resources to create a place for formal ones would end up being a waste imo.
As an aside, you could always create an Arc with the Atlas park model runway as the only map and hold it there. That way you'd have a catwalk of sorts. -
I'm so glad my Tivo caught this. I was thinking during the 1st scene that it was an homage to superdickery with Jimmy dying.
Best part for me, had me laughing out loud, was when he was sitting on the beach with some chick and he yells at Lois, "Serves you right for all those schemes you pulled trying to get me to marry you!" With Batman's reaction following. Classic.
Ranks up there with the Music Meister episode! -
Would this be heavy RP or RPlite?
This sounds interesting, I've been wanting to 'get in on the ground floor' of something like a superteam or a themed SG etc etc for a few weeks now.
I currently don't have anything on Pinnacle but I can always transfer some if needed. Unless we decide to start truly from scratch at level 1.
For me, I'm a concept driven player. I generally solo Blasters and Scrappers with the occasional Brute. When teaming I like to play support most of the time, unless raw damage is needed more. I can't play Tanks though, just not my cup of tea.
As far as restrictions/consequences go that'd have to be something up to the commitee. Only things I can think of that would be just to extreme would be true death (i.e. deleting the toon upon 1st defeat) or overly restrictive attendance rules (i.e. miss a single meeting/event and your kicked) Other than that I'm intereted to see what's brought up! -
Agreed. The ones I know about I've taken to getting ready right before I click the text and then just rapid clicking until the box closes.
It's really only bad when it's the 1st encounter and I'd actually like to read the dialogue 1st. -
Quote:In fairness to the Dev's, it's not just 2 TF's. It's multiple new systems that require extensive testing so we aren't hit with game crashing bugs on live.Issue 19 was released on November 30th. It's almost been four months. And yet, only 2 trials are ready? Come on. It shouldn't take 2 months to perfect one trial. If anything, I'd say 4 months to release 4 trials is fair; one month of development for each trial. If it takes 2 months to fine-tune each trial, the process is not efficient in the slightest.

So delay the issue til they are.
(Yeah, I know how that'd be recieved...)
Leandro summed up my feelings pretty succinctly. I feel exactly the same about being more connected to the single Frostfire redemption story than I am any of the Praetors and compatriots. After 7 years of putting him in his place, he's finally matured and started to grow. To me, this was one of the 1st 'game changers' that could make it seem like my individual Heroes were actually making a difference without much imaginating.
We 'showed him the light' so to speak. Made fighting by his side all the more satisfying. Cole on the other hand, though I initially really liked the whole GR storyline and the way it fleshed out the Praetors more, the longer it goes on though and to a lesser degree the more emphasis is put on them by the Dev's the more hollow it all starts to feel.
What really killed any interest in Incarnate content for me was making the Well of the furies a sentient being. You'd have thought the Furies might have mentioned that to Marcus when they visited him in Paragon all those years ago... -
Well technically Wyatt was creating the shield while she was Pregnant but yeah.
-
From the start you'll want a concept that you can stick with.
Goldside, depending on your server, may be lacking in RP groups though.
My various Praetorians all start out with a set belief, either Cole is bad, Cole is good or Cole is just someone to replace. Then I allow the arcs to flavor them. Some will start to change their opinion after certain 'events'
Each have their own reason for leaving Prae, none have been the in-game reason though.
As far as places to go, well there is lots of scenery.
The park in Imperial is nice for basking in the sun.
Studio 55 is the Pocket D.
The Wentworths is inside and nice, kinda museum feel if somewhat small. Though power suppresion will be on.
