It's a shame we don't still have the Paragon Times. This would have made a great write-up!

Quote:/ThreadI haven't posted in this thread before, because I don't really have a strong stake in this. I'm OK with how it all works in CoH:F, but I can see people not liking how it works.
However, your quote above smacks of a presumptuous attitude that you have enlightened everyone else with the One Truth. That irritates me, because your post does no such thing.
This requires assuming that "including ... expansions" applies because Incarnate content was bundled with Going Rogue. Yet the debate over whether that's the case is what the whole thread's argument is about, and your "/thread" did nothing to shed greater light on it. You can't declare that argument won by fiat.
In my opinion, the weight of evidence about what is "promised" with respect to Going Rogue including Incarnate access is on the side of folks saying it was not bundled. Only one official info source anyone has dug up for GR references Incarnate powers, and that's the presence of an Incarnate info page appearing under the GR heading. Incarnate powers are not listed on the game boxes, not in the (US) online store page, etc.
In my opinion, that only leaves open to debate the argument about whether unambiguous mechanical gate linking running iTrials to owning GR shows that Incarnate content is "bundled" with GR. Gating is not the same thing as "included with", but gating clearly shows a link. In my opinion, that is a situation vague enough that either side's argument can be said to be weakly valid. If either side's argument can apply, then the devs get to apply the one they want. Some people may gripe about the dev's choice, but we can't fairly say for sure that the devs were being disingenuous or "screwing" anyone out of anything, because the situation is vague.
When arguing about the interpretation of something vague, nobody gets to whip out "/thread" without looking like they're just full of themselves.
I really hope we can get a Dev to put an official Foot Down™ on the 'He said/She said before the actual launch of Freedom. -
I like the voice... for the tutorial.
In game I'd rather it be used for the in-mission communications from Keith Nance and the like. If they had an actor that got into the roll, if the voice used inflection and all it'd be cool.
The in-mission popups are technically suppose to be radio transmissions so it would make sense. Also, I can never bother reading them as they fly by while I'm knee deep etc.
Though. It would have to have an on/off switch.
Not to mention the fact that this would cost $ for hiring the actors and all. -
Superman Returns.
Trailer was epic. Brando's brilliant speech about "They can be a great people Kal-El, they wish to be." With John Williams masterpiece building momentum the whole time. When we see Supe's hovering high above the Earth, his cape nearly motionless...
Gave me chills!
Such a shame the movie was... Well, that's well documented by now. -
Maybe some behind the scenes bit of code that requires a 'token' before you can move out of the area and onto the next. Clicking the appropriate thing probably grants a token that clears you for the next, cueing the VoiceOver etc.
This is all speculation mind you. -
I love this community!
I'd already placed my 'Greeter' on the steps leading to Mrs. Liberty. Planned on logging in here and there for the 1st few days. Welcoming the new arrivals and offering any assistance they may need in local.
Only be able to give Influence to the Premiums sadly. -
Quote:Bah! I remember reading that too. Now it's going to bug me until I figure out what it was called...There was a book that I read, can't remember the name of it though, that took people on hunting expeditions to around the time of major extinction events. The premise was that people could hunt whatever dinos they wanted, as they were going to be extinctified anyway. No real alteration to the timeline.

I could've sworn they just replaced all the server Hamsters with the far superior Unicorns though...
Must've been the residual awesomeness of ZWill. He popped into Atlas around 6ish last night for a few minutes before vanishing in a brillaint flash of white. -
Well in fairness to her friend...
I am going to get a friend of mine to play once Freedom is live. She has never played a video game, let alone an MMO. Unless you count the games on iphone.
Because it is going to be a real learning curve for her, I'm opting to spend $15 right off the bat, to turn her into Premium, just so we can communicate without trouble.
She wouldn't even understand if I told her the game used QWE controls for movement. So, she'll be Premium level, but so will anyone that spends $5 or more in the store, regardless of past familiarity with the game.
Premium (for now) can be seen as someone with at least 'some' prior experience with the game. This will cease to be the case once the Freebers get here though. -
Quote:They are 'debating internally' on allowing limited posting for Premium and Free accounts. Probably in certain sections only.Umm unless I read things wrong only a VIP will be able to actually POST on the forums so why do I need a different colored name and a vip title.
So the color coding and ViP titles will be so we can easily tell who is at what level.
I just wish we could have the Gold names while stil keeping our old title. -
Wait huh? Dr. Aeon was originally a player made character? Or do you mean the guy that 'became' our redname Aeon was originally a player named Fearghas?
I'm confusidty. -
The gates to the Hollows and Perez have been buggy for quite some time. Depending on the angle of your toon in relation to the officer the 'click zone' can cover the entire cop or be just a sliver of a line.
If I'm turned slightly it seems I can click anywhere right off. If I'm facing straight at him, I always have to search for the clickable area and yes... It usually ends up being only at his crotch.
Though in fairness, I haven't been in either zone in a few issues at this point. -
Hehe...
It was ordained from the start that this thread would be revived from oblivion. Necrotron must've digitized it to awaken at a certain point. -
Quote:Indeed. I've got quite a few inorganic creations. Just doesn't look right having my 7 foot tall robot with no stomach or mouth bent over hurling...It would seem that he's talking about his robot and other such inorganic) *characters* being revived by the power. As if it's not bad enough they're already saddled with that exaggerated breathing animation.
Or my 100% sealed from the enviroment in a tech suit contaminated man for that matter. -
Loving this thread! Making me want to do this myself.
What method do you use for picking out Arcs? Do you just go with the 1st one that sounds good? I tried doing that but most often ended up getting a poorly disguised farm. -
I've re-rolled Beta Beam as a Beam/Rad. Just feels like a much better match than Kinetics was.
Played Beam/Kin up to 18 but just didn't feel like my secondary was all that beneficial, even teamed. I'm able to leverage the spread pretty consistently, to my enjoyment, so I wanted something with a little more utility.
I can already tell this guy is going to be a beast! -
Quote:When I bought Going Rogue is said it granted access to the Alignment System and Praetoria. It said nothing about the Incarnate System. I'd been away from the game so I don't think I even knew about the Incarnate System yet. So as far as I am concerned none of the official product descriptions for Going Rogue included anything about Incarnates.
Indeed.
The confusion stems from the fact that you had to have GR in order to participate in Incarnate content. Nothing in the ad's for GR mentioned Incarnates...
To those that can't understand how you can be required to have something before you can use something else, yet now it's ok...
Look at it this way. Think of GR as a DvD player and Incarnates is a DvD.
You have to have the player in order to use the disc.
Well, 3 years later Sony comes out with a TV that has aDvD player built in.
Would you then be ticked off that this Disc wasn't installed? No, you'd just go buy a copy of the one you wanted. -
WarShades take a bit of finese, They don't play like your typical AT's. That said, once you get the hang of the 'finer' points you will truly feel unstopable!!
PB's... I still haven't been able to get into them.
Scrappers are boring mode for me, activate toggles and then click attacks ad naseum. Get's really old, really quick. I need something that keeps me on my toes, something that keeps me using tactics and strategy to survive.
That's why I roll Blasters!
Seriously though. Why focus on just one? I currently have 148 characters across all servers. 18 of which get played fairly often. Roll up everything that catches your eye. You're bound to find something that 'Clicks'. -
Hehe...
Here's my thread from 2009. Let me be your Nemesis It was my attempt at providing this service free of charge. As you can see, not that many people were actually interested in using such a service. The few I made really got into it and loved not knowing when the next 'attack' would happen.
Eventually though, I started getting swamped with requests and started getting yelled at over not having a new one every single day so...
Still, I think this idea has promise. I came up with this idea when I started using AE to make my own characters interact. I realized it was kind of boring to play through it, knowing everything that would happen.
So I thought how cool it'd be to just give a basic outline for the Arch-Rival and then let someone else craft the particular stories. Leaving me to interact with someone out of my direct control.
Proved to be very fun while I had players interested. -
Elixir of Life - I dislike having my Robot and or other 'Never sick' concepts puking after being revived...
Flash - Because it recharges so slowly. -
Indeed, they combined some sections, like masks with hair.
So if you had something that was in a deleted section, you have to re-pick it from the new section.
I've got numerous premade outfits and nearly all of them have to be adjusted when I load them now. The pieces are thankfully easy to find though. -
I would be game for this. Wouldn't be able to join all that often but I'm sure I can find time here and there.
I usually avoid teaming on my MM's as it gets crowded and whatnot. Being on a TF of 8 MM's though sounds to good to miss. -
I was just going to post about this new issue.
I've been leveling up a new WarShade lately. I've got my forms bound to my mouse. Back button toggles on Nova and switches trays, Forwad button activates Dwarf and changes trays, Shift+Back button deactivates both and toggles on sprint.
After the last patch, The bind to switch into Nova is acting wonky.
I run into a mob, hit Mire and the back click like normal. My tray changes as it should but then I never formshift. I end up having to click it again 2 or more times before I actually shift. Very annoying and time consuming.
Happens only in missions, as changing to Nova outside an instance is always working like it should.
