  1. Don't think it counts for someone that actually lives in Paragon City GG...
  2. I'm reminded of Benedick from Much ado about nothing.

"When I said, I would die a bachelor, I did not think I should live till I were married."

When I said I would be here til the lights went out, I did not think I'd be able to do that for free.

Now that I can... I intend to remain ViP for as long as I can justify it. If for no other reason than to continue supporting a game that has given me nearly a decade of enjoyment. If at some point the perks start to fade and I have other finacial concerns, well.... I'll be here til the servers shut-down. Just might be as a Tier9 Premium though.
  3. I don't think the question should be if alien races have the technology to come here, but rather if they have the desire.

    Why do(es)......

Because Blasters haven't been the 'King' of damage in a long time. We're the kings of ranged damage. With that range, sadly, being considered good enough defense to justify our squishiness.

I can take a War Mace/anything scrapper, right out of the box without enhancements, and do much more damage than any Blaster from level 1-26, while being much much safer doing so.

Blasters used to be the undisputed kings of damage but that title vanished years ago. It's high time we fixed that discrepancy.
  5. I'm at work so I can't pull up Mids but a quick glance reveals only one glaring issue.

Drop Explosive Blast and pick up Power Burst.
  6. Yeah, I was originally going to go with Dark/Dark Blaster for Deja but when I reached the power customize screen... It just didn't feel right being that offensive in nature.

Illusion offered a whole bag of tricks, from summoning ghosts and phantoms, to trapping victims in their mind(flash).
Coloring PA white turns them into respectable ghosts. Deceive is your zombify power.
  7. I've been loving my newest creation.

Deja Vu Doo - Illusion/Time Controller.

The dark arts can bring your greatest fears to life, when you combine this with ancient chronomancy techniques you have a very powerful foe to deal with.
  8. Was the Teen Titans animated show based on a comic?
  9. I seem to recall Zwill stating that the 4-man max was due to the small nature of the maps, that during testing they adjusted the team sizes and found anything more than 4 was 'messy'.
  10. This does have me curious though. We have always been told that the reason Rularuu is in game but we've never been able to fight him is a targetting reticle issue due to his size.

Since we aren't having any issue with the new giant Nightmares...

    Just leaves me curious.

Outstanding! Really wish I'd known this the day Freedom launched. As it stands, I lost one 'recruit' for no other reason than the overly restricted way they felt. They came from another F2P that didn't treat the free level like a trial, and expected the same here, to just visit the market if they got hooked.

The inability to communicate with the community killed it for him, even after I offered to pay the $5 to get him chat access. It was the principle that turned him off from the word go. Being able to reply to my tells, even with a workaround, could have given me enough to spin it in our favor. This is good knowledge going forward though!
  12. Aye, but it's the one that started it all. TMNT isn't Turtles to us purists.
  13. No.

This is the regularly scheduled downtime. Every Thursday morning 30 minutes before I get off work...
  14. Now I'm confused though, I'm not doubting darksilver, just wondering if he is an exception some how.
Everyone else seems to be reporting the opposite, not being able to claim A-Merits on toons that have affirmed their alignment numerous times in the past.

I'd pop on here in an hour when I get home and run SSA1 right quick (I've got it down to 11 minutes) just to find out, alas it's Thursday.

    2. Let me queue for a TF or a Trial while inside of an instance and let me be teleported away from my instance when the Trial starts.

    Optionally:

    3. Let people put their own teams that they're running into the LFT queue so that those looking to team for something other than TFs and Trials can get auto-assigned to a PuG.
    All 3 please!!

This true? Is it a bug? So free players can reply to tells sent to them, they just have to use /r...

That can't be right, seeing as everything we've been told indicates they aren't supposed to be able to.
  17. Just an amusing update concerning my 'accidentally PL'd to 33' friend.

We we're duoing missions, standard fare, I'd wait at the door for him to load in, then I'd toggle on and go to work.

    After 2 or 3 missions like this, he paused and asked;

"Why does everyone act like missions are a race?"

I smiled at this, here I was thinking he'd PL'd on purpose, perhaps with endgame in mind. The more I probed the more I learned he had no clue the trial would rocket him past the low levels.

He ran it repeatedly because... He knew of no other way to get a team if I wasn't on. Oops.

So, I explained to him that it's not really a race mentality so much as its a 'been here done this, for years.' mindset.

He laughed and said it's all new to him. So we slowed way down, taking a more RP approach, pointing out the problem enemies, like leaving Nem Lts for last etc.

Much more enjoyable than the 'get outta the mish QUICK' mindset that us Vets are trapped in.
  18. Well, that I can't really see a problem with. If you don't have the alignment system, you shouldn't be able to get A-Merits. Those that bought the SSA without having it should've known going in. 22 regular merits isn't trivial.

I figured it was a bug my tier 3 premium friend could even claim it.
  19. This is what the patch notes said:

    Signature Story Arcs
    • Players must now be confirmed as Heroes or Villains (i.e., their most recent Morality Mission confirmed their alignment) in order to claim Alignment Merits as rewards from Signature Story Arcs.
The problem seems to be, that this reset everyone back to neutral. Can't tell from the wording if that is a bug, an unavoidable result of the change or a wanted addition.

I hadn't been running tips in ages, just recently started doing them regularly with a duo partner. I wish I'd run the morality I've been sitting on since Sunday before now though... That would've been the 2nd A-Merit for that toon and he'd planned on slotting a -KB with the profit. To someone like me, as a casual player, this is a delay of weeks before I can be earning A-Merits again.
(I usually have time to run 4 or 5 missions total during a session. Playing for 3 hours or less.)

Le sigh, not the end of the world I suppose, just makes me frown.

This I don't worry about so much, as from the looks of it, only the 1st part will be below 20 anyways. The remaining arcs I expect will continue to inch up in levels. With SSA1.7 being levels 20-50+.
  20. Good lord man! So, your an author in real life right?

    Bravo!!

    More please.

Not worth the hours I'd spend only to log in and have it all borked the next day. Which is a shame, I spent many a month doing nothing but writing arcs when it first came out.
  22. I'd suspect, if anyone had claim to using Freeem 1st, it's probably going to be the 60's Batman. No doubt it flashed across the screen at least once, when a raygun was fired.

As for Big Bang, yeah, we're all over that show.

You can easily see the COV box in all the guys rooms in various episodes. With Howards being the most prevalent, others are tucked away as to only be seen in brief turning shots etc.

Also mentioned was the Statesman cutout in the comic shop and the infamous Captain Sweatpants.

Personally, I think I've played with a few Sheldons in game over the years as well.

SSA works for the time being, since we can say SSA1 or SSA2 and know which one we mean.

Once we have more than one arc though...

Unless we start saying SSA1.1, SSA2.1 etc
