Then the same assumption would be that they could watch a timer and avoid the green stuff in Keyes, but that does not happen either. Being able to read =/= being able to listen. It also does not equal having good movement/game skills.

Better NEVER EVER see you die in pink on MM trial or get caught in green (on your tank especially) in Keyes, there are timers for both! Or else! (I dunno what else, but something funny and awesome!)
  2. Also curious... what if 5 people that were good movers all got incandescence and we took turns tping... Could be interesting if we kept a strict schedule of who was tping when!

NO! Every heard of "scrapper lock"? Tanks can get it too. And then half the squishies on the league get killed. Just don't do it.

Personally I would like to do bottom and top, but other people on Victory were leading it with top and middle, so in order for people to not be confused, I do top and middle as well. Then people only have 1 set of stairs to go between at least. And it is easier to pull off top and middle which is a plus (start at top, taunt, jump to 2nd, taunt, jump down). It's also good to direct people to 6 specific terminals so that the power cells are not spread out willy nilly.
  5. I know these three have birthdays today to tomorrow! I am pretty sure someone else does too! Anyways, happy happy birthday!!!!

Oh definitely! It takes... omg, movement! A good emp or pain and people who actually listen (don't attack terminals) can get you Loves a Challenge. We did both together on Thursday I think. Was a league of 12, which is imo the way to go. Also had one of the people stand way back, so he diverted green from us a few times which was kind of cool.

To wacamole: glad you finally got it! <3

    85%!

Also, I am about halfway through writing a guide for the way I run it (not that others who do it differently are wrong). It will be ready maybe... Wednesday next week
  8. You make no note of which teams people would even be in charge of for tpn. That would be very helpful.

Also sadly, most people do not read the forums during the weekend, so you perhaps need to get your post up sooner than the day of.

I wish you tremendous luck and I hope you succeed! I personally am not sure that 3 out of 24 people reading a page on wiki is going to be any better than 1 person reading it and leading the trial, but I certainly hope your methods work!
  9. There is a 5 minute cool down per target, you can only get a drop or rep once on the same target every 5 minutes.

There is a 10 minute recipe cool down. Once you get a recipe, you are ineligible for 10 minutes.

    Flying East!

Many community reps have come and gone Avatea, but I have to say, you were(are) the very best. I am truly sad to see you go. I wish you the best in China and beyond. Have a blast and enjoy new opportunities.
  11. Theme for this coming Saturday is Winter Wonderland!
  12. Wow pretty surprising results. You are supplying half the pvpers on your own! (jk) I wonder how much these results would change if you had 10,000 samples.
  13. Yes Hami raid tonight in the Hive (that's hero side).

No reason to put together a Seed Raid as a big event, you only need 6-8 people to do it to be honest.
  14. I am not sure that the "casual" player will even know about or what to do with this change. After reading what people think, I am disappointed with the doom and gloom!

I foresee currently "crap" purples gaining value, which is a good thing. And damage purples lowered a bit in price. Some people will have less demand (as they turn their sleep IO into a ranged dmg IO) and no longer need to buy one. And some people who just want to sell will now sell their "crap" purples for a higher amount.

Yes if you only ever use Sleep and Confuse purples and you never play 50s to get a purple drop, this will affect you negatively. If you are playing the game and do occasionally add to the supply (overall or personal) this will be a positive change for you.

I think people often ignore basic financial principles when playing, and that's why they "never have resources." If you want a Numina R/R, don't buy it with A-merits or R-merits. Buy something worth more, sell it, and but in a lowball bid for 3 Numinas. If you need something for a build, bid on 3 (lowball price) then craft all 3, keep one and sell 2 back... I bet you got your IO close to free.

I'm still excited for this and I like that it's something for "VIPs" only. I also like that there are in game ways to do it instead of just buying points.

Oh and Mental, Masque had like 9999 reward merits, so I think that might be close to enough to convert the purples :P

    Hey everyone,

I've been following a ton of stuff that the board have been talking about since the Player Summit we held a couple weeks ago. We've taken a close look at your feedback on the various things announced, and are in the process of making changes where we feel it's appropriate and good for the overall game.

This thread is about Enhancement Converters. These are tokens that you can use to change Set-based IOs into other random Set-based IOs. The original thought was that the only way to acquire these would be through the Paragon Market. Several of you disagreed with this exclusivity to this item so we took another look at it.

We feel pretty comfortable in allowing these to be obtained in-game by VIPs. These will be sold on Reward Merit, Alignment Merit, and Endgame Merit vendors with the following values (subject to change):

10 Reward Merits buys 1 Enhancement Converter Token
1 Alignment Merit buys 10 Enhancement Converter Tokens (20 hour cooldown)
3 Astral Merit buys 2 Enhancement Converter Tokens
1 Empyrean Merit buys 5 Enhancement Converter Tokens

In addition, they will be rare drops from enemies for VIPs.

Remember, it costs 3 tokens to convert a Set IO into another, random, enhancement from that same set. It costs 2 tokens to convert a Set IO into another, random, enhancement of the same category, and it costs 1 token to convert a Set IO into another, random, enhancement of the same rarity. Basically the more possibilities it has to change into, the lower the cost.

Because of this, we're not going to initially sell these on the Paragon Market as we had first planned. These will be available exclusively in-game to VIPs by the above means for the time being.

I quasi agree with this. I would like to see another "beginner trial" added in. I think that would help out a lot. And maybe one will come! I do think though that for MM and TPN, you really do need to be +2 or +3 since the AVs in it are effectively 56. However, for Keyes/UGT as long as the entire league is not +0 or +1, it should be okay. However I will say... it is disappointing to me when people bring (or try to bring) brand new non-slotted(as in IOs) with no alpha shift and something no basic alpha even. I mean you get that stuff from regular game play... I know that the trials will unlock alpha for you, but honestly, a +0 character really does not add much in most cases.
  18. To GP: Keyes is freaken awesome, don't you hate on it.
To GP: UGT is also awesome, it's just stupid long.
To GP: I didn't think they were that gimmicky, I think they just take coordination, by my 3rd time on MM I was rarely ever dying.

To Voodoo: That's not the last mission sequence, and 4 of us switching to clarion certainly helped (we even got the badge!).
To Voodoo: I agree there is way too much text and I will have to read it later on Paragon Wiki. But I LOVE the fact that we can re-insp easily midtrial.

    To Mental: oh hi.

To all: Please remember... they make the trials difficult for a reason, they do not want us to be able to beat them the first time (though sometimes we do). I personally am glad for the challenge as there are a lot of different things I haven't seen yet that are very cool. Basically, they plan for us to take a few days to really figure it out. If you don't like the "newness and omg we might fail" then wait a week until the pioneers of new content have it down to a science. At the very least the new ones offer 2 empyreans and 1 empyrean after that (during 20 hour cooldown) and midtrial rewards of 60 threads. Hope to see you all in game

Please enjoy! Thanks very much to Arkyaeon for putting it all together.
  20. I've been trying to announce this at all of my events, but I thought it was time to make a post. Please support Real World Hero, it's a charity drive started by CoH players to help out with several different charities. They currently have a fund raising auction going on and have lots of CoH merchandise and hand made items that simply cannot be found anywhere else.

    Please see: http://realworldhero.com/

There will be screenshots with the demo-recordings. Should be up in just a few days. If you are in a hurry, there are screenshots for each server winner in the thread on their server forum.
