  2. War's Herald should be excited. Heralding the end times is his Purpose.

But he never expected it to come so soon.
  3. Ok, but only if they have an exact copy of the CoH costume creator.
  4. Boycott all the things!

    Except Valve.

    They're pretty awesome.
  5. That would have interesting implications for fighting a zombiefied Statesman though.
  6. I can't say I've ever added anything, but I like to think that, given the time, I would have.
  7. As I've stated: Nothing will be a WoW killer. In order for WoW to die the MMO market would have to be so blown to **** that no other MMO could exist.

Yes, this will effect NCsoft. They are losing most of the dedicated fans of this game. Those are the fans you want to keep with your company: They are the most likely to put up with whatever slap to the face you deal with them, they provide a steady income. Nuking the game they're loyal to is not the way to keep them.

It will also be providing extremely bad publicity for NCsoft.
  8. Thanks for all your hard work, hope you can find a job at least half as good.
  9. Ok, but if I have to start paying for endurance imma roundhouse kick their collective faces.
  10. Also the fact that i24 is close on the horizon. Reintroducing the game with the fix everything issue would be brilliant. And make the name, Resurgence, all the more appropriate.
  11. I think the best way to go about it is in a business sense. Yes, Valve probably has a conscience, but if Gabe bought up every sob story he came across he wouldn't be rich.

Also do your best to remind them that they'd have a fiercely loyal playerbase that would literally love them forever.
  12. I was planning to get Solonacaea to 50 and make her as best a controller as she could be.
  13. Pretty ******* accurate.
  14. I just had the hilarious thought of the dev team going outside and saying "Dev team, LFT!"

Sad to see it happen, though.
  15. As I've said elsewhere: Valve is my first choice of a new publisher. Those guys are awesome.
  16. Good!

Although do remember that if it crashes too badly there is no one to bring it back up.

    So no summoning vet pets.

They may be able to buy the IP and use, or create, a different engine.

But yes, Valve buying it is the best case scenario.
  18. I had clicked on a topic asking for Private Servers, and was about to respond with "CoH is fine, no need for a private server". Then I thought that something was amiss, looked at the other topics, then at announcements...

    "Well... ****."

And to think, I was gonna get a better laptop in a few weeks so I could play Trials.
  19. If we're looking for large companies to buyout the City, I'd put up a vote for Valve. They make some awesome games, have the money for it, and I believe they have some experience with MMORPGs.

Could be much more doable, though not quite so tantalizing, as a community driven model.
  20. I believe he already did. The one where Statesman comes to find the City cold and dark.
  21. The idea of a completely community owned, massively popular MMORPG is extremely tantalizing and epic.

To be able to use the Lore, however, we still need the IP from NCsoft. The Game Engine can be worked around through development of a new (better!) one. But for this game to be truly a second coming of CoH, we need the following things (in order of importance, first being most important):

    Costume Creator
    Same dev team
    Lore
    Gameplay

Really I do think Gameplay should be considered last; the true soul of CoH is the limitless designs and concepts you can bring to life in the Creator.

Unless they could secure the engine rights from Cryptic (unlikely), then yes.
  23. Its ok, Angel, you can cuss now. No mods.

I suggest using this newfound ability to give NCsoft a severe tongue lashing.

Maybe we can sprinkle some Miracle Grow on their conscience. That'll make them buy it.
