You realize that we'll start guessing all the names in the forums one by one.
  2. Is it just me, or are Synapse, Hawk, and Positron the only ones to go completely silent after the announcement?
  3. Heh, Maybe I'd finally be in a successful hami raid.
  4. So in how many hours is this? I'm terrible with time zones... heh.
  5. I think I'll be moving to CO. But I'll be doing that when, and only when, the lights go out here for good.

I wouldn't even consider playing it otherwise.
  6. I intend to do everything that I've never gotten around to.

Trials, missions, TFs, SFs, all of it.

  7. My very first character in his second costume... I don't recall the first. It is lost in time.

  10. All I regret is that there was so much left to do. A year is not enough for a game like this.

If that doesn't work out, we're going to try getting them to release the IP, and maybe even the server code.
If that doesn't work out, things get complicated - but not impossible.
If those don't work, we basically create a new game with the spirit of CoH from the ground up. The Engine, the Lore, everything. If we can get the Creator right, if we can get the devs, if we don't get legal down our backs, maybe it'd feel like home.

    Maybe we're crazy.

    Worth a shot.

Well this has two sparkling devs getting in a slap fight and Arcana admitting to be in a love triangle with a wall.

    Hard to top.
  13. Actually Kickstarter proved that we ARE all piles of cash. It also proved that we are piles of cash with brains, and that when we all join up into giant piles of cash things get done.

  16. I've no intent to check out EVE. Sounds fun at first (give everyone space ships and let them lose with lasers!) until you find out that its mostly management of said space ships.
  17. This just in, Black Pebble is a vampire capable of turning into mist!

They're a death cult that dresses in black and white and are named Skulls.

All we have to do is change them to a death cult that dresses in black and black and are named Skulls.

The idea is generic enough that we don't need a huge change.
  19. We should have a Red Name cage match.

No, wait. Reserve all of RV for them. They can fight it out there.

The winner is the Ultimate Hero (or villain to taste).
  20. Oh please.

If for nothing else than the fact that I won't be able to use my main if I go down to premium.
  21. Yea, those two were pretty awesome.
  22. I think its more like you buy the Alternator, he puts it in, then hits you in the face and steals the money and the car.

If that is accurate, getting the IP may be less difficult than the engine. Note that animations and models are often tightly tied to the engines... you typically can't just grab resources and plop them in to a new engine. I've heard it's usually easier just to remake them... which would be painful.

Note: Not trying to rain on any parades. Just trying to help create an accurate understanding of the lay-of-the-land, so the best decision can be made as to how to move forward.
Zwillinger seems to be hinting that this is not the case.
  24. Replace "die" with "maybe get a half ***** lawsuit or something", and that's a pretty accurate thing right there.
