They did what? I was so looking forward to more resist, regen, and mez protection for my tankermind who has none of those.

Quote:DS is a large AoE sphere, hitting just the boss could be tough. Anyhow, with the way it now works you can DS the entire mob. Anyone who needs to rest up can hop out of the field, while the rest can hack away freely.I have powers that I will take and only use solo because the timing to use them effectively on a team can be dodgy. Big KB comes like Gale are like this as well as DS. Plus, there is so much tasty with Grav now that I don't have a ton of extra slots to throw around like I used to.
On a tight team (one that plays together often) I can see this being part of a really sweet set-up routine. I DS the Boss, we all take down the spawn, drop DS and grease the lone survivor. Still, if I have it I won't use it if it'll be a problem. -
Quote:I've never found Silver Mantis to be a problem. Recluse is the hardest 'normal mission' AV I've fought. The Banes he summons distract the ninjas set to BG mode, and when his punches land they hurt.I always counted even level as acceptable.
Though, I was much impressed when I was able to solo an AV that was higher level.
I've found Silver Mantis to be the toughest of AVs, while others, like Diablolique was annoying with the personal bubble.Have yet to solo Diablolique, and Silver Mantis was a challenge!
But yeah, even level is what I always went by for AV soloing. -
Quote:Or the concept of a soft cap. If they're like me, they'll see 30% def and think the enemy will still hit them 70% of the time.Someone new to the game mostly likely has no concept of what softcapping is, let alone DDR.
However, with DDR at least you don't need to know. No way to enhance it, if they have the power it is working and they don't need to know why their def never drops. -
The only problem I see with the port is the +health buff. It is static, not a percent, so it could wind up doubling your pets' health. Might need to be taken down a few notches. Pets with double health running around, as well as soft capped defense and ridiculous debuffs? No more force field, ever, unless you really hate the ice shields' looks.

When we rid the world of the non-aliens, he shall be spared.
-
As well as Cold, they still need to port Radiation Emission and Kinetics.
-
It could, would just take a long time. Would never break, but eventually the tank would.

On the drop down under the stealth power in the power customization screen there is a 'No Fade or Pulse' option. It is also there for other powers but I forget which ones, only use it on the stealth.

Paper tanks or adamantium staves, take your pick.

Quote:No, there was a "least" in there.Am I reading this correctly that you are suggesting that the easiest AT/powerset are the ones that have the more complicated mechanics and require previous knowledge of the game.
or was this brilliant sarcasm?
I'd suggest DP and BR the least.
Blasters the most. Due to aforementioned reasons.
I'd agree with the suggestion of Energy. As well as adding survivability, it is about as simple as you can get and allows you to focus on other things, like no dying. Also, the KB makes it feel more powerful than it is. -
This is the reason I made a SM/DA brute instead of an SM/DA stalker. Need that talker to not gasp for breath every fight before I get SOs

Quote:There was at least one true AV, which was Black Scorpion. But yes, the fact that the Avatar of Mot was an EB kinda pissed me off. Expected more from the literal god of death. The thing that makes it easy (aside from Incarnate shifts working, obviously) is that there's no way for the EB's to spawn as AV's. If AV's could be turned on it would be a hell of a challenge, especially the level shifted one who gains a higher level throughout the fight.

Quote:I'd suggest duel pistols the least, same with Beam Rifle. Both of them have further mechanics than 'shoot stuff'. A lot of DP's utility comes from Swap Ammo, and most of BR's ST damage comes from Disintegrate. Both require some previous knowledge of the game to use properly.I'm gonna cast my vote for stalker, especially with the buffs they got fairly recently. My DB/NIN stalker has been working out for me better than any other AT/powerset I've tried over the years as an off and on player.
I also agree with the view of making a blaster to get a better understaning and feel for things. I'd even go a step further and suggest dual pistol if a person's willing to buy it or go VIP. -
Quote:A week? I give it six hours. And yet you missed Trick Arrow???
I'd prefer Melee/Support or Assault/Support myself.
Control/Pets would be hilarious. Can you imagine what it would be like a week or so after it was released? People running around with 7/8/9+ pets apiece!
Yes, the problem with control/pets is that it would be a better mastermind that a mastermind. -
I went with Staff/Dark brute. Named Aquamarius, he's an insane cannibalistic fishman who hates fish. So he constantly tries to get himself killed, but the hospital teleporter always 'saves' him.

Quote:Yes. Though normally after I hide from AS I will use Burst instead, with build up used before the AS, until only bosses are left, and then I make with the individual face beating. And with the Stalker ATO slotted into Assassin Strike, you can crit with Concentrated Strike every time.
Works like this:
The ATO proc will put you into Hide automatically when it goes off. It's a proc per minute formula based on the base recharge of the power.
Since AS's base recharge is so high, it will proc every time in it.
Concentrated Strike will automatically crit when used in Hide.
Thus, you can run an attack chain of Build Up>AS>Concentrated Strike>Build Up>Next heavy hitter>filler attack>AS>Concentrated Strike>Build Up>etc.
It requires a lot of recharge to do, but once you reach that level of recharge there isn't much in the game that will beat it for single target damage output.
Also, KM's PBAoE (Burst) has a 100% chance to crit from Hide, unlike most AoEs which have a 50% chance.
KM is stupidly good on stalkers. -
The problem with sticking in random support sets is it doesn't really work that way. You will either have support or control for the primary. If you somehow have both it will be all, or nearly all, of the support and control sets. But currently there is no AT that has a choice between two completely different primaries.
Oh, and Kin, Time, Rad, and Dark are ALL top of the line support powersets. Control powersets? No. -
I don't think the proc will affect the target anyhow, rather it will give the 10 end to you, like most procs do. Which is rather useless, a Kin should have no end problems.
-
KM/EA stalkers are badass, I've got one myself (Will O' The Wind, hes a cloud). Fairly easy to soft cap, good resistance to S/L, and ENERGY DRAIN
-
Everyone having reactive is the problem. Interface abilities only stack five times, so a league full of reactive means most people have wasted their interface slot.
And yes, degenerative was recently fixed to not be useless, with i22 I believe. -
The main problem with controllers/dominators is that they are too elemental. Yes you can make excuses like fire/ice/darkness machines or whatever, but it is still elemental. There needs to be a sort of devices control and weapon assault.

How's about Pi divided by 'i' and multiplied by 'e'
-
MM personal attacks except Beast and Demon
ST immob
Taunt/Confront (except on MMs)
besides that I'll normally end up taking whole powersets because it's more fun that way. With a few excepts, such as Choking Cloud.
