It is the driver that is crashing.. due to memory or gfx card problems maybe. But no-one can come up with a solid solution.

I had a new 8800 gfx card handed to me by the shop. That one has the same problems

I had a new motherboard installed with new memory... Same crash

I had done a reinstalll several times. Directly using the latest NVDIA drivers straight from the site... Same crash.

I tried older drivers... same crash...

I used driver cleaner after each de-install...

I have a friend that has the 9800... I will try his card in my system. To se if that is working. But I already saw someone with that who had the same prob.

You can't tell me this is not known and tested by NVIDIA or ASUS... I have spend 1200 EUR on a new system to game and I cant run a game of 4 year old. I am doing DXP weekend on my laptop.

Easy to say I am rather frustrated.

Yes.. I have a ticket running with support. They have done the following things...

- Let me remove and reinstall the latest NVIDIA driver
- Let me set virtual memory on a hand setting...
- Let me use tuner to set my fan speed of the gfx card at 70%
- Let me run a memory test... which gives millions of error because its prob a 32 bit test while I repeatatly told them I run Vista 64 on a 64bit hardware system.

ps. We do realise that there is a new ATI card out now that has better specs and is cheaper. But I spend money on a brandnew NVIDIA 8800 GST 512 that is not working.

As none can find me good solutions from the compagnies that should know.. I go and try yours. I will first install the 174.74 drivers.. if those will not work I will go back to 169.25.

I hope this will be the solution. Even then... when the &%*()(&* is NVIDIA going to accept that this error is there.....? The system reacts as if it has a memory error. And will crash on that too. The NVIDIA monitor gives a blue screen.

And no one has a solution for it that actually works... And none of the compagnies involved acknowledge the errors actually excisting...!!!

a - no power in this game is really 'needed'. Even stamina could be done without if you slot for end reduction
b - every team is able to finish every mission if youre use team play and smarts. Some will take ages longer. But you will get there.
c - if you faceplant from attacking... you would have done so alone too. Don't blaim you're team mates for youre mistake... and as suc... don't blaim the tank. Taunt of no taunt.

We are not bound to specific team builds. Time and time again I noticed that in COX its far less important then WOW for instance.

ps. My tanker made 43 now.. without taunt. SS/Inv, and I never missed it. And no team member noticed it missing. If I think it fits the toon concept oir I have a slot free to distribute I will take it, other wise not. I will prob get it on my willp brute later in the higher levels.

All can make their own choices and team members calling me names because of my choices that I made on purpois are just not social or themselves terrible players. In such a way they need a god team to survive.

I made lots of items for the looks alone... Some arent even attached.

It gives you the option to go beyond the basic items and make an unique look. Was really happy with the defensive items... Gave me two gargoyles to place on either side of my throne ...

If it was there first.. and lag was the issue.. Maybe its obsolete now then. As were so many years and hardware upgrades further.

With current internet speeds... does this lag still is there?

I have some weekly rp in the base... But as its holidays... we skipped a few times.

For a villain its own place is actually the easiest place to rp. There should be a bar in the outside zone that you can just travel too and enter. Aside of Pocket D.

I would be ok to choose an outside zone location for my meetings... if 1 or 2 other rp sg's would do that too it would be alive again... But...

The Court of the blood countess and the Cooperation hate each others guts. I thing Liz and Sebastian would end up ripping each other apart.

I shot a problem in a few days ago and the support is thinking it over for me. So far none of their solutions has helped.

and still I find it very strange that no Dev is responding. This is an exsisting problem that is not going away.

As far as I know a simple 'It's a known error' would be enough. Now we are re-inventing the wheel over and over again. No official company is giving feedback. Not NVIDIA... not Blizzard... not Microsoft... and none here...

- need to replay main's that you where though was finished
- you can throw away all youre expensive long tie gathered / farmed enhances as they are now useless
- You are getting new slots.. therefor can get all powers a slotting of 6

Especially the enhance slotting is a reason not to do this. WOW does it all the time. Its a cheap way to keep players on... and simply doesnot satisfy.

You buy expensive sets... and an update hits. Then you can get in a new zone where the drops are already higher then the stuff you bought for millions.

Sentry hasnt been on in a while either.. working on a few other toons.. altiris is a serious problem...

I should step up on AA (Altiris Anonymus)

hmmm.. yes.. make the cop harder.... Remove the raid pvp stuff... I hate that anyway. And make it a real real challenge to get the power item.

Then restrickt to only one power item for each base/sg. Maybe make it possible to trade the power item if you need/want another buff.

This way you enhance sg friendship and cooperation. Without forcing them into pvp.

I just played yesterday for about 3 hours and now only had it one time... But it can be totally random and that I was now just lucky...

As this prob is know with the 8800 GST NVIDIA with us, WOW players and on the NVIDIA site. Maybe its time for certain factors to search what is the real problem...? I maybe a techy but's not my problem to find out why something that is there all over the world is not working.

From now on I will file a bug/petition with every crash. Maybe we should all do it.

This will instantly upp the number of combinations enourmously... And in the long run it will prove its worth...

In fact I'd like to see a lot more dynamic zone events added - GMs popping up occasionally in any zone where their faction spawns, fires like Steel Canyon gets in every city zone, the Talos/IP Ghost Ship popping up in Striga (perhaps the most logical place for it, if you've read the history plaques about the Moraine there), Peregrine and a few of the Rogue Isles zones.

And I want to see some banks being robbed by NPCs in city zones too - lots more dynamic events, in fact.

There's already Atlas Park, Galaxy City, Perez Park, The Hollows, Kings Row, Steel Canyon, Skyway City and Boomtown, for the 1-20 range at least. and probably the one place most missed : Sewer Network, for normal hunting.

I dont care much for this at the moment.. I would love to see more SG missions from the computer/gauldron though.

I am getting tired of the same (only one) mission all the time. We need more to pick.

I had played for a few hours on Age of Conan and no crashes whatsoever... For some reason COX (and using the previous info WOW) are having these crashes more then the newer applications.

It is also happening with several OS. If I read the forums correctly. Error are posted on WOW, NVIDIA, and COX forums.

Old gfx/drivers use from the applications in question???

At least it IS happening... And sometimes its a mayor problem. I am actuallu using my laptop to game now.. instead of my 1200 euro game station.

- Completly professional check on my hardware (NVIDIA 8800 GST)
- New install Vista 64
- Using gfx drivers directly from the NVIDIA site latest version
- Fresh install COX + all latest patches

Still crashing on the nvidia drivers... Same problem as before I brought my pc to the shop in order to check the hardware.
