I only had about 15 minutes to play around with it since I loaded it onto a spare desktop - but yes, it was really annoying to shut down.
I have it installed on my living room computer and so far it has provided lots of entertainment -- every time a friend comes over, I tell them "hey, a beta of Windows 8 is out, check it out" and then dump them on Metro. Watching their faces while they try to figure out what happened to Windows is hilarious. -
I am trying to access my original COH account, but while I can remember the password, I can't remember the @#$&! security questions. I know Support is going to ask me things like the original serial number I used to create the account, and that is loooong gone, so I guess I should consider that account Lost Forever.

Sadly, the Shining Stars base exploded under mysterious circumstances around level 25, shortly after they accepted Fusionette as a member. They haven't been seen since.

Go to the Options -> Email -> "Hide Unclaimable Account Items". Enable it. Click "Claim All" again.

Yesterday at 19:30 GMT-3, an open league doing the Undergound Trial (league included the characters Operative Dresden, Kotchie, destiny morna, Doctor Leo, Dr. Turgenev, Akarah the Hunter and Maxwell Blast) was about to run out of time during the Avatar of Hamidon fight (someone hit Rebirth while confused and gave the Avatar massive regen... TWICE).
When the timer hit zero, it... started counting up. 0:00, 0:01, 0:02... it is possible that it was displaying a negative time, but the UI wasn't prepared to handle negative times and so it displayed positive ones instead.
We defeated the Avatar with 2 minutes on the clock, that is, two minutes after it hit zero and should have failed the trial. -

Tangent: Incarnate access being VIP exclusive seems to be a sore point for some. What about having an "Incarnate Power License" that gives you access to the Incarnate stuff (much like we have AE and Inventions license) priced $5 for 30 days? -

Once Freedom hits: you lapse your subscription, you lose access to some items.
Access to some features will be behind a paywall in Freedom, just like they are behind a paywall now (COV before the merge, GR, boosters).
What's there to think? -
Theory: the Training Room will become the VIP server once Freedom hits, and that is why it's being stressed to see how many players it can handle.

In any other game, it works great. COH just hates it, though. I've had no end of problems with COH and this card. Next upgrade I'm going back to NVIDIA, only because COH is the game I play the most, and it just doesn't play nice with ATI. -
It does; run Process Explorer and check your CPU usage and you'll see that cityofheroes.exe does something in each CPU:
Maybe you're bottlenecked by the GPU. You can throw a lot of CPU at the game, but if the GPU isn't up for it, you won't get a performance boost. -
I like how PQ is saying "you all suck" on the first screenshot. He was channeling his inner Leo.

I don't have advice to permanently fix it, but for a quicker workaround, try /bind f12 reloadgfx and hit F12 each time you lag -- it should reload the graphics, which would give you your regular framerate back.

For extra paranoia, go to Account -> Privacy Settings and click on "Friends Only", then never friend anyone. People won't be allowed to see even your blank profile. -
