Will the Paragon Market have the same value as boosters?

I don't know as much as the next guy about i21, but I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume real money is going to be used in this new market that's replacing boosters and veteran rewards. If it just so turns out that it isn't free, does anyone think it will be of equal value to the boosters and the other optional stuff we pay to look pretty?

@Blaze Moon, Blaze Moon the 2nd

This is where something more interesting than my global and this sentence would be.

It's my understanding that the market uses Paragon Points that can be bought with cash, or if you are a VIP (subscriber) you get a stipend of Points each month that you can buy more of on top of the stipend.

Quite possibly more valuable, since it appears that there'll be more to buy and you won't be stuck buying a whole pack if you only want one thing from it. There will still be "packs" of a sort anyway in the form of bundled collections of parts.

To some degree this depends on how you view it. If you just look at the base prices then it's more expensive that the boosters. However, Arcanaville wrote a pretty good post in one of the threads pointing out that what the devs have effectively done is set the prices based on the price a person who is not subscribing will pay and then provided a stipend to VIPs effectively subsidizing their purchases.

Based on that I think the paragon market is slightly more valuable than the current boosters. The ability to buy a la carte means that we can target our purchases on the things we specifically want. For example, I purchased the Origin Pack because I wanted the Impervium Mantle (and have yet to use any other items in the pack), however under the new system I could instead have just purchased the Impervium Mantle saving me money for purchasing other things.

It also (based on what we've seen so far) means more things available to purchase. We are getting 3 power sets with I21 and 1 other has been announced as coming soon(tm). Now we are only getting one of them for three but conversely since the others are premium that is what (presumably) allowed the devs to justify developing 4 new sets instead of 1 or 2.

We'll have to wait and see what it will end up costing those of us who want, plainly speaking, everything. So far, aside from the occasional limited-time offer like the DVD collector's edition which sold, like, once and never again, I've been able to get most everything the developers have had to offer for the price of subscription and a Booster every once in a while. We'll see how that changes.

This will probably be a more complex metric, it looks right now like we will be getting more content than vip points will be able to keep up with, but if this pace is maintained, we will be getting more content as well then we previously did with our subs and occasional booster, so there will likely be more out of pocket, but also more stuff ingame. if you want a lot of stuff, then likely it will be value, but it will likely be more comparable to if more boosters hit during the year. but this is all speculation, till we see how it shakes out in a few months, its more a litmus test of whether you are an optimist or a pessimist.

Don't take this the wrong way but I really hope you end up disappointed. From my viewpoint the big (potential) advantage of Freedom is that the extra income should allow Paragon Studios to make a lot more "stuff" than they come with their current income model. I WANT them to produce so much stuff in the store that it's impractical for an individual to get all of it without spending an unreasonable amount of money. Realistically, I am unlikely to want everything they put in the store so the more stuff they put in total the more stuff they will put in that I DO want.
