    Looking....

Hey, I'm an old player returning after a few months off.

I'd like to find a somewhat active SG, I'm not one for the task forces but I do love to run the shorter trials. On champion I have a lvl 50 bs/shield scrapper that I just suddenly fell in love with, and some assorted other alts.

    Energy Melee

I was playing my stalker yesterday (EM/Regen). I hit total focus from hide and, as expected, it was a partial Critical. Later I hit Energy Transfer out of hide and, as expected, there was no critical (though no loss of life either.)

So, I got bored of the stalker and I went to my brute, EM/Elec. I'm using small attacks....and I hit total focus...I continue to build fury and I hit total focus again....and...the damage increased with fury. So, in my chain I hit ET, hit some smaller attacks....hit ET again..and the damage increased.

So, why is it that the EM attacks work flawlessly with the brute inherent but not the stalker inherent?
  5. Post your build, that'll help answer any questions.

    Generally speaking:
    Recon=3 rec, 3 heals
    dull pain=3 rec, 3 heals
    integration=3 heals
    Instant Healing=3 recharges
Moment of Glory=3recharges (you should have 1 in it now)

I'd consider hasten if you don't already have it

Yes, but I'm out of slots and I can't publish them.

The key to making good lowbie content is to avoid customs. Custom characters always get a robust amount of powers, but lowbie enemies intentionally only get "shoot a pistol once" or "swing a knife once" to keep them managable. So, hellions, skulls, contaminated, snakes, RIP, etc. are okay.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I can't stress this enough....I decided to level a character solely on MA, and its been ...troublesome at best. Things to watch out for:

-Custom Groups (I won't attempt them on my lowbie, too much pain)

-Missions that have 1-54, followed by 40-54. A lvl 10 sk'ed up to lvl 40 does not a lvl 40 make.

-Unique Maps (awesome! a ton of glowies to find...in an outdoor map with no travel power....)

-Custom Groups (a lvl 10...with...rad infection, and ele end draining powers...nice).

That is a fast rate, your download will finish in 1-2 hours, don't worry about it, its a waste of time to switch now.

Oh, I wasn't going to restart...3/4 of a meg a second? That's too good to pass up

I was just curious on the speed of the direct download (and it didn't like chrome either...stewpid M$)
  11. How fast is it?
I'm using the MS downloader and I'm getting about 800KB/sec...

Play one, from level 1 to 50 and then return here and make that suggestion... you won't.

I have a level 50 Regen. I suggest the power, and in fact the entire set, be left as is.

    [/ QUOTE ]

But then, venture hasn't hardly ever met a nerf he didn't like.

Imagine, if you will, Elude was left as is...except:

    1) You had no defense to PSI or Toxic (even with your other toggles/passives)
    2) You took 400% damage from Psi
    3) You couldn't regen for 3 minutes.

Honestly, the only change I would make to MoG, is leave everything the same except:

Your HP are now at 25% and ALL of your healing is based off of that number (recon, DP, regen rate, inspirations). You're still left vulnerable to Psi, toxic falling damage, but you can't be whittled to death by a patch of caltrops.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If it meant the rest of the set would finally be balanced to have the same strength as regen1-8, I would take it right now. I can even tell you what the numbers should be.

    Now imagine regen with:

    * quick recovery eliminated
    * dull pain eliminated
    * healing does not work against AoE attacks until level 35
    * everything that currently debuffs defense now debuffs regeneration also

Eat *those* adjustments and you too can have Elude.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The performance of an entire set doesn't excuse a stinker of a power like MoG. Please take your regen hating elsewhere.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
Okay, so forgive me if someone else has done this, but I think a side by side comparison of Elude and MoG might be useful.

Elude is +45% def to melee, ranged, AoE, + recovery, and a nice run speed and jump buss. Note that since the I7 def changes, elude by itself will florr an enemy's chance to hit unless your defense has been debuffed. Combined with the toggle powers, it will likely floor everything's chance to hit even if you have been debuffed, with the exceptions of rularuu (who I swear have a smoke-grenade-like bug with their ToHit buff) and DE when there's a quartz crystal out.

MoG gives, about a ~70% def buff to all but toxic and psi, and 75% resistance to all but psi (and toxic?), sets your health to 25% of its max, and prevents healing. Also, you get a recovery boost and lots of mez protection.

MoG gets no bonus points over Elude for having status protection; it's no problem to keep PB up and running at all times, and it's almost certainly a power that every SR has already taken long ago. The resistance/HP effects basically cancel, amounting to a -300% debuff to toxic and psi damage. The additional defense over what Elude gets is almost always pointless.

Therefore, my conclusion is that MoG is basically like Elude, except without the run/jump boosts, with huge vulnerablities to toxic and psi damage, and side effects that basically negate the rest of the secondary.

So, while I'll refrain from saying MoG isn't a useful power, it's clearly not in the same league as Elude.

I could probably do a similiar analysis with Unstoppable, but I won't, because I'm feeling lazy.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Which was my point. Elude, another Tier 9 power, is clearly head and shoulders better than MoG.

Of course, they're both better than Soul Transfer....

and since i am in an asking mode... how about a hosp in hollows. god knows that that is the ONE place that needs it the most. travel is dangerous enough for lowbies...do we really have to make them run from atlas on every death?

there has to be a way to make hollows less annoying than it already is... unless there are more mish in atlas from levels 1-14 and up hollows entry to 14 at travel (or travel at 10)

    [/ QUOTE ]

NO hospital in the hollows. Unless its REALLY close to the AP exit. Like...right next to it.

Whenever I ding in the hollows (before level 10) I almost always take the AP hospital express to see Ms. Liberty.

Of course, knowing posi's sense of humor...the hospital would be in a back corner of the hollows....

Okie I want to ask a related question, also yay first post.

What about the fact that fire has 4 situational useless powers.

1 Temp protection... really useless... there isnt enough fire or cold for it to matter.

2 Fiery embrace... situational, unless you are fire/fire its usefullness is highly questionable.

3 Rotp..... a tank shouldnt need a self res and it doesnt even come close to being as good as granite or unstop

4 Burn... a power that deaggros mobs and makes them run and gets your team killed is questionable at best.

Also what about the contention that regen can take more damage over time than fire.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Temperature protection helps out a bunch stacked with the other shields. It should have something like slow resist or +perception to make it worthwhile.

Fiery Embrace works just like a normal build up with an added bonus for fire attacks. It has the same length on regular attacks as Build Up but lasts longer for fire attacks.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Fiery Embrace does not act like a normal buildup.

It doesn't grant a to-hit buff, and its on a 180 second recharge window. Also, it used to grant a 30 second buff to fire attacks (all but burn) but that was decreased to 20 seconds.
  23. Since you've admitted that it has to break LoS then 'any combination' should read 'any combination that has you rounding a corner or going over a ledge'.

Also, my fire/em tank has been AS'ed in mid SJ, does that mean the space bar doesn't figure into your 'code'?
  24. [ QUOTE ]
so what do you think we've got coming our way for I7?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Let's see.....

A nerf to QR (somewhat serious, perhaps bring it down to stamina levels)

umm.....can they really nerf a whole lot more in the regen set?
  25. [ QUOTE ]
just in case some one calls it, i want to reinterate my old idea of bringing balance by making our toggles exclusive with fast healing.

and that fast healing cost endurance to run.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Toggles? Don't you mean toggle?

Also, I think QR should be turned into a new toggle, that supplies us with 1.3 end per second.

However, it costs 1.5 end per second to run, and doesn't accept end recoveries or end reducuers.
