Currently one account, but have COV CE so I can activate a second account when I want to do, now is not the right time for me.

Naw, I'm not whining, I have come up with great names recently, such as Necro-Mantis, Maiden Gold, The Kilted Celt and St. Valkyrie.

I repeat my statement, if, after 5+ years I reactivate my account and see a generic'd name in place of whatever name was there, I can I assue you (in my case for certain), I would not remember what name he had and I would not be upset that the name is gone. To be perfectly honest, I wouldn't expect my character to even still be there, much less have the name available.

I tried WOW about 5 years ago, I have considered going back and giving it a try again. If I do so, and my character is not there, or the character is there but the name is gone, I am not petty enough to quit just because of that. I was raised to work for everything I have and to appreciate what I have. I am not entitled to anything but my freedom to do what I want, to make my own choices.

I suspect it will stay there as long as the game is active.

Same as any other redeemable Vet Reward, like the Free Tailor Sessions.

Or try Vari-Ant and make him insectoid.

Meh. It's not a big deal to me. I was merely offering a possible reason why some people are experiencing this issue. So far, no confirmation from the people complaining about this as to whether they have been switching computers.

As I posted in that other thread and definitely confirmed today.

This happens to me when I switch computers. I checked a couple threads before I left for work. When I got to work, I checked those same threads and clicked on the triangle and was taken to the exact same post I started with at home.

Thank you for the answer, I missed that part, I saw the animation do the swirly thing from my target and thought anyone in range got hit by Siphon Speed.

I just recently leveled a fire/kin troller to level 50. Occasionally, I will have a tank ask for SB even tho I just recently used Siphon Speed on a enemy right next to him and I have the icon in my list showing it worked. Isn't Siphon Speed similar to Speed Boost, but it gives a speed boost to everyone within range of target? I have seen my toon move real fast with Siphon Speed.

Don't know if it is relevant, but I first checked the threads I was reading on my computer at home. When I came to work and saw updated messages and clicked on the triangle, it took me to the same message I had started reading at home.

Are you switching computers between readings?

I had a slightly different issue. The Account Management Screen stated my 12 month Vet reward would be issued 08/10/2009. I didn't have any problem with that. Sunday evening, around 5-6 pm Pacific time, I had to log out of the game so the wireless router could be reset. When I logged back in, I was awarded my 12 month Vet rewards. The only thing I could think of was they may use Midnight Greenwich Mean Time to issue the reward and I had to log in after that time to receive my reward?

On my first toon, I was in Atlas Park and received a mission in Galaxy City. Looking at the map, I saw that I could run there through Perez Park. I get to the gate and run into an invisible wall. While running my mouse cursor over it to see if I have to click on it like a door, I finally get a hand when I reach a guard. Clicking on the guard, I am told I wasn't high enough level to enter.

I look at my map again and while checking the different points of interest, I come across Yellow Line. I switch to the City Map and see a yellow line that travels around Perez Park and goes through to Galaxy City. So I run to the Yellow Line train station and see the marquee above the train entrance door with Next Stop: Skyway City and so on. So I stand there waiting for Galaxy City to be listed so I can go there.

While I am standing there, other heroes run in and disappear into the train and I remember thinking, "How lucky they are to get their train right away." When Galaxy City finally scrolled across the marquee and I clicked on the door, the destination menu appeared and I felt so foolish.

Another moment was the first time I died in a mission was in Kings Row. I exit the hospital and look at my navigation bar to figure out where to go and was surprised that it had changed from yellow to red. For the longest time, I thought it changed to red if you died in the mission. Imagine my surprise to see a mission change to red when I was on a team before I even entered the mission, but other teammates had entered it.

A third newb moment was six-slotting Brawl with Damage TO....on a blaster.

Since a lot of players hang out in Atlas/Cap, have you gone there to recruit for your teams? Some players will jump at the chance to leave the AE building and do regular content.

Somewhat related info that I just discovered yesterday.

Rolled up a new level one villain and knowing that I could put a Valkyrie or Magic Booster cape on him, I was looking over my options.

I had selected High Collar and looked at what capes I could add. I own both COH Collector's Edition and COV Collector's Edition and was pleasantly surprised that I could add either choice when using High Collar as the Mantle style.

Knowing it was going to be down this morning, I went and did laundry instead of this weekend. Tomorrow, I might go out and enjoy a leisurely breakfast.

Personally, I feel if the account has not been actively subscribed for 5 years, then the character names should be taken from that account.

Barring feelings of entitlement that has been expressed before, if after 5 years, they have not attempted to play the game and resubscribe, it is more unlikely that they will ever come back, much less remember what that character name was.

At best, maybe if they had a level 50 toon, that name could stay, but anything below that should be made available for the rest of the subscriber base. Level 50's are the cream of the crop, so to speak, most players will remember their first 50.

I did a 14-day trial of WOW about 5 years ago, only tried one toon, and I can't remember the name of that toon if my life depended on it.

That was fast! I ordered a copy of COV Collector's Edition from Amazon.com yesterday morning and got it this afternoon!

Edit: I just checked, they only have two left at $9.99.

This happened about 2 weeks after I had started playing and I was running around Atlas Park and saw my first Longbow. I didn't know what they were at first. There were walking around in there methodical single file mode. I found them to be quite creepy when they did that. No one else was attacking them. Just to be safe, I trailed them just out of normal aggro range (having learned that from Hellions). How I missed seeing them the first two weeks of playing, I don't know. It took me a while to get the idea (and some helpful research on ParagonWiki) to find out that they would not attack me. I just thought they were up to no good with their walking around. I just couldn't figure out what they were up to, but it was creepy.

I went to use the Emote Selection Menu that is next to your chat bar and discovered that they updated it. It still doesn't have the emotes from the booster packs (probably because not everyone buys those). But it had added new emotes that you had to have on a cheat sheet or remember.

They also separated into different categories than they did before.

Nice QOL change!
