I can now say that all my characters are DoPE.

Toshiba Qosmio X300
Core 2 Duo 2.00 GHz processor
4GB DDR3 1066 RAM
GeForce 9700M GTS
960GB between 2 5400 RPM hard drives (I added second hard drive to the available slot)
Windows 7 Experience index: 5.5 (Processor being the bottleneck, all other components rate 5.9)
With a bit of overclocking, I can run high (not Ultra, mind you) settings at about 30 FPS. In ultra mode, I like turning on shadows, environment reflections and water effects on Low to Medium, without substantial loss in frame rate.
Considering I bought this machine nearly 3 years ago (August, 2008) at the $1750 price point, I'd say it's held out rather well.
That said, I have been considering the purchase of a new gaming laptop in the next year or so. -

Define "Fully"
Burning a bit of inf on the way and turning all my merits into threads, I hit 50+3 after about 10 Trials (doable in 5 days, if you're hardcore enough) working from a level 50+1 Grav/Storm.
You could probably get the alpha level shift by only running 2 trials per day in about 7 days, assuming you manage to get 3 rare drops from your trial runs.
If you want to collect all purplez, plan on maybe 3-4 months of grinding trials, or less if you get lots of lucky purple incarnate drops. -
I dunno, Scrapyard went down pretty easy for me tonight, although I took a pretty cheap shot.
-Shivan Shard
-Backup Radio
-Seers Partial Core Improved Ally
-Biological Mutagens
-Chemical Burn
-Grav/Storm smackdown
It took about 3 minutes to drop him that way. -
Quote:My level 50 Grav/Storm/Mu Incarnate controller has tried to solo him 3 times thusfar and failedHi
Yesterday, i saw him for the first time, but without seeing his lvl, i dunno if was a good idea to attack.
I read that giant monsters "change lvl" depending on the player lvl, but a lvl29 MM (bots/dark) have any chance to do it alone? (after fight protean and die over and over again, I'm more cautious. Btw... thanks to the Lvl49 who finally help me)
(as usual, soz for my english)
(That said, I haven't hit "all out" - Last time, my failure was largely on account of a horrific lagfest, wherein I could only attack about once every 10 seconds. The first time, without even dropping a temp power, I was about 20% shy of the damage required to overcome his regen)
The good news is that Giant Monsters are relative to your level - they hit you as though they were exactly your level, so you take less damage from a GM as a level 29 than you would as a level 30, 40 or 50. The bad news is that scrapyard has a lot of "normal" followers with him, and if they show up as anything other than grey in your targetting window, the sheer number of them can really help to ruin your day. The even worse news is that if they're a little bit of trouble for you, they can be even more trouble for your henchmen, who are lower level than you are.
In the 40-50 level range, an MM could quite conceivably solo a Giant Monster. /Dark is in a good position to do so with its combination of self-healing, regeneration debuffs and a -resistance debuff. Gathering temporary powers (such as the Biological Mutagen and Chemical Warhead nukes from Warburg) and using them in the fight can also help you a great deal. The highest tier of bot you can obtain also has a chance to cause a regen debuff that can put a serious dent in Scrapyard. -

There was a rumor that she liked ...something... at midnight, but the lackey sent to verify this information hasn't been heard from since.

Captain Squirrel (one of mine) doesn't bite, but he has been known to throw nuts from high places to get attention.

Six force field controllers may be excessive...2 or 3 can make the entire team nearly unkillable.
With defense, each percentage point of defense tends to help even more than the last, until you hit the magical 45% (soft cap), at which point you're effectively ignoring about 90% of incoming damage, and additional defense points will rarely, if ever, provide additional defense.
Two big bubbles (when you get them) and a tight-knit team will be able to wade through swarms of enemies and, with a decent amount of firepower, watch them all melt. -
You got him for maintaining an active subscription from February 1 to April 18th, via the Vanguard Pack.

Quote:While the two are essentially the same rate of regeneration, the distinction is that if you can finish off the last of an AV's HP after a regen "pulse" within 30 seconds, the AV won't get an extra "pulse" of HP.It's been a while since I studied fractions, but best i can tell, those 2 are the same thing.
EG - suppose a level 54 AV has 2000 hp immediately following a regeneration pulse, and you're damaging said AV at a rate of about 70 HP/second. If the AV regenerated 2.5% after 15 seconds, it would look like this:
0s - 2000hp
15s - inflict 1050hp damage
15s - AV regenerates 766.9hp
15s - AV hp at 1716.9hp
30s - inflict another 1050hp damage
30s - AV regenerates 766.9hp
30s - AV hp at 1433.8hp
45s - inflict another 1050hp damage
45s - AV regenerates 766.9hp
45s - AV hp at 1150.7hp
60s - inflict another 1050hp damage
60s - AV regenerates 766.9hp
60s - AV hp at 867.6hp
73s - inflict 910 damage
73s - AV defeated
Whereas, with the regenerate every 30s, the way the game works:
0s - 2000hp
29s - inflict 2030 damage
29s - AV defeated
That's a 44 second difference in the time required to defeat the AV, from one method to another. Granted, the more damage you're already inflicting, the less significant the difference between the two would be. The main distinction is that it's easier to solo an AV (or defeat it with a small team) by delaying the regeneration cycles than it is by reducing the amount regenerated.
EDIT: Redundant now, oh well. -

Still working on the I20 Incarnate stuff, but I am (very slowly) working on a T4 Cardiac, as I find Cardiac to be great for soloing, but prefer Spiritual for teaming.
I hope to eventually fill all the T4s in my Alpha slot, though, as there are situations where all are useful (though Nerve is probably on the bottom of my list - as a Controller, the 30% accuracy from my purple inventions, the inherent boost to accuracy in many of my powers, and the huge amount of Def Debuff I get from being a controller makes boosts to accuracy pretty much unnecessary) -
Quote:Correct - Shard recipes require shard components. Thread recipes require thread components.Don't have the details in front of me right now, but I'm pretty sure that the shard recipe doesn't require components from the Trials, nor does the thread recipe require any of the components shards build (unless you count building threads out of 'em).
Also, nice name. -
Temporary powers on the scale of Warburg Nukes...that can be used in Incarnate Trials?

Quote:I would bet that, back when the inspirations appeared in the market before they were available, someone decided to place a bid of 2 billion on one to "hold" their inf.Hi,
one of those "Ultimates" sold yesterday for 2 Billion Inf!
That is a lot of "Inf" per minute, or rather a lot of "Bragging Rights" per minute
Madness
That someone subsequently probably didn't think to remove their bid; or due to the pre-I20 icon looking like the never-released Wentworth's teleporter inspiration, they may have simply stuck their bid on the wrong item.
Personally, I find that level 1 Titan-O's make pretty good placeholders, but I will be weeping bitterly if someone ever finds a way to make one and sells it to me.... (then again, it would be absolutely awesome to have one of those slotted on a level 1 character for arena pvp). The safest item at present is probably the Wentworth's or Black Market teleporter inspirations. -
Quote:A few lucky purple drops, though, and that all changes.Despite how many multi-billions the "ebil" marketeers can earn you still have to remember that maybe 95% or more of players have never even seen a billion INF let alone 2 billion in their entire time playing.
In I19 I went from never having seen over 400 million to having 2 billion stashed on a single character, thanks to cashing in Villain Merits and a handful of lucky drops. -

Quote:Funny, I didn't see a question mark...just a comment/request.This is the player question forum, im a player asking a question, get off your high horse
That said, this would be a nice feature - maybe a "skip" button that, if everyone viewing the cutscene presses it, bypasses the rest.
