I am interested to see how this works out. I considered something similar, but more of a fixed fee plus a daily charge if cashing in the merits took more than one day.

Cyan has 35 A-Merits, and he's offering up to 5 MERIT PURCHASES with them.
Different combos include (but are not limited to):
1 PVP IO purchase (30), 1 LotG Proc (2), 1 LotG Proc (2) and a Random Roll (1) = 35 merits spent on 4 Purchases
1 PVP IO purhcase (30), 1 LotG Proc (2), Random Roll (1), Random Roll (1) and a Random Roll (1) = 35 merits spent on 5 Purchases
Considering the starting bid is 3 billion, it's not a bad deal compared to forum trades and market values.
[edit] Oh, and I can vouch for Cyan as a trustworthy in-game trader. He's also an RO member and I'm sure plenty of them would vouch for him too.

Just in case the bidders don't realize this, you might want to point out that you can only make one A-Merit purchase per day (unless those merits are spread out among different characters), which means that this transaction would take about 4 days to complete.

Also: the recipes can be any level the buyer chooses (obeying maximum and minimum level ranges of each recipe, of course).

I won't outbid Organica by 1 (this time...) but your worst case scenario is to roll a lvl 10 3% def (easily sold for 1.8bn net on the market, much higher elsewhere) and then either random roll or pick a few choice spots. The downside for rolling the high priced items is that you have to sell them off market which is kind of a PITA in my experience.
Your initial price point at 3bn was in my opinion a good starting point, but also keep in mind that many people (myself included) on this forum are looking for a bargain.
I'll give Organica the bidders position, but I would bid 100mm more. That said, I'm also looking to sell AMs.
