Welcome to the game as well!
One word of caution. You might not wanna get to attached to that name. Even more so if the look and bio is as expected. Just in case your unaware...
Anything that would 'seem' to infringe on a copyrighted character, mainly from Marvel or DC most often gets what we call 'Genericd' Which means you'll log on one day and find that your name has been changed by the GM's to Generic0285352324 and if the costume is questionable it'll be reverted to basic grey.
It might not happen, just don't want you getting really attached to him only to have it yanked away mysteriously.
Homage toons are fine, as long as you stay away from using identical names or looks/bios.
(I still recall the old days of Claws/Regen Wolv3rin3's running rampant.)
Then Marvel sued us and the rest is history.
That said, check out paragonwiki.com it's a treasure trove of information. Also might want to download
Mid's Hero Builder This tool will help you plan out builds if your into Min/Maxing.
Have fun Hero!!

Welcome to CoX and the forums, Slick.
I love Praetoria, just need to keep an eye (or 6) out for the ambushes. Feel free to ask questions, most of us around here don't bite... well some of us don't bite... okay there a few of us that don't bite... I think.
<.<
Anyway, feel free to join the 'New Player Council' global channel to ask your questions in game. Just type /chan_join "N P C" (quotes and spaces required) in your chat and introduce yourself. There are also several other chat channels that are home to quite a few Protectorites like Protector Vigilance, or Jello Shooters, or Boarderline Insanity which houses some of the local RP'rs.
Paragon Wiki is a font of knoledge, just make sure you don't go to the wikia that one's a font of spam and malware.
One thing you may not be aware of, the game will be down for an extended maintenance tomorrow 4am-4pm Pacific for a merge of the NA and EU server list that you see on login. They will also me working on the forums at the same time, well 10am-4pm. I'm hoping that it will all go smoothly.
If you see this in time then you can chat with the devs through the day on the Paragon Studio's Ustream Channel.
Again, welcome!
Welcome aboard!
Someone will be by shortly to set out the buffet table. Unfortunately I am out of the complimentary toasters. Just as well you probably like your house anyway. I do have some blenders though. Feel free to take one, just be careful when you turn it on. I'm pretty sure it is safe.
Tech Support Rule #1 - They will lie to you. Usually intentionally.
Welcome to Protector!

Almost every evening has something in the works - and multiple activities are often seen on weekends.
█ Players Guide to the Cities
I also recommend joining a chat channel. A good one that's friendly to newcomers and is rather forgiving of most faux pas is Protector Vigilance. It's a good channel for getting to know your fellow players and forming teams for just about anything.
Protector Watch is a good channel for forming teams for just about anything. You should be able to find some really decent players here... Though its popularity has certainly waned in the past couple years. It's a very no-nonsense channel, so there's not much discussion that goes on in it.
Protector TFs is invite only. It's been rather popular as of late. If you make your presence known in Vigilance, chances are you'll receive an invite from this channel in short order. They're not affiliated, and the content in TFs can be a bit racier than you'll find in Vigilance. Also, TFs considers itself another no-nonsense channel, though the previous statement about raciness should indicate they're somewhat lax in that regard.
Finally, there's Jello Shooters. While open to the public, I would recommend you learn through reputation about it first. It's not inherently a channel in which mature discussions take place, but it's a place where ANY discussion can take place. Conversations there tend to be no-holds-barred, and can get very dramatic, extreme, disgusting, racy, or just plain funny (or a mix of any number of adjectives).
By joining some or all of these channels, you should have your finger on the pulse of what's happening in Protector.

Look at that. A full-grown woman pulling off pigtails. Her crazy is off the charts.
Welcome to the game and forums. As other have said, the wiki is a great source, Mids is awesome for planning builds, and globals are really good for teaming and questions.
Pax will be by later to set the buffet table.
I am taking my sig to MWO and MWT. Let them wonder what it means.
welcome to the game! and the boards!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!
Bit of a noob question(s), How do I join chat channels, and once joined how do I talk in them? Is there an online manual? I downloaded the game after purchase so I have a hardcopy of NOTHING!
I think my global is @Kaal'El so anyone please feel free to message me or invite to groups, I have yet to make contact with anyone else on the server.
Thanks again for the welcome!
Hiya, Slick.
Any time you want to join a channel and you know the name, in your chat line you can type:
/chan_join channelname
Now, if the channel has more than one name, then the name of the channel has to be placed in quotes like:
/chan_join "channel name"
If you don't know the name you can rt-click on your chat window and click on Channel Search in the menu to bring up the Channel Search window.
There is also a Join Channel option in the rt-click menu as well.
Oh, and every time you log on, your upper chat window will tell you your global handle. You should see something like this:
Using global chat handle @Kaal'El
As far as information goes, Paragon Wiki is very informative and is updated all the time with new content.
Mids' Hero Designer (which you can get here) is also invaluable.
Hi slick, welcome to City of ... and welcome to Protector, a wondrful community.
To start you may indeed want to join a global channel. Some good ones to start with on Protector are: Protector Viglance and Protector TFs. Another Channel you might like to join is the N P C Channel =New Player Channel, where you can ask any question you like and won't be served off like... well, you know what lol.
Feel free to contact me. I will be on line during Euro friendly hours though:-)
Leader of the Paragon Punishers SG and the Phantoms of War SG
Welcome to the forums and the game, Slick! Is this your first MMO? I'm curious.
No, not my first MMO.
And to update everyone, I'm level 22 and chose the hero side. Also I was invited into a SG. Hope to see yall in game! Also, my global has changed to the same as my forum name.
Hey guys. Just started my scrip after the trial expired, just trying something new. Have a level 13 who's name is Kaal'El. Going through the praetorian missions now. Hope to see some of yall in game.
