*picks up jaw off the ground* Why is it that the bad girls and ex-bad girls are always so damned gorgeous?
Hmm, and Ms. Liberty looks rather cute in those pics too. -

I like my nvidia card but since i got an upgraded pc, it cane with Vista on Vista on i had all sorts of probs with COH, Nvidia / Vista. Was only by rolling back my drivers and messing about with hot fixes have i got CoH stable again, bad thing is i cant play AoC now as looking for newer drivers and soon as i put the newer drivers on CoH crashes , white screen randomly
I reckon if i still had XP on machine prob be okay for using my Nvidia with more upto date drivers.
And is only COH i have had this prob on, maybe the new effects adn the like will take be more compatible with Vista/ Nvidia and ill then update my driver again when compatabilty issues are resolved. Paragaon may have given up trying to find a solution for the problem, and shifted over to ati and wash thier hands of the nvidia/vista issue taht so many have experianced.
[/ QUOTE ]There's a hotfix for that. I can run CoX and AoC with my GTX295 and not get the white screen error. -
Why only a few attacks? Unless you're over loading with Pool powers there should be plenty of room for full suite of attacks and Aim/Build Up.
In addition to withering AoE damage enhancement, a key advantage with Aim and Build up is that they can give a one shot kill capacity when combined with the heavy hitting single target attacks. Which is great for taking out problem mobs like Sappers. -

At the moment i cannot see a way to
1.reduce the endurance costs they are now,
2.Provide enough recharge for me to not actually have moments of standing doing nothing.
3.Relieve the bore-Dom aspect of the toon due to waiting for recharge etc
[/ QUOTE ]
1. Actually the recharge time increase will counter this to a degree. If you're sitting on your thumbs waiting for a power to recharge (as you give the impression you are) then your End will be recovering too. Otherwise it's */EndRed IOs all the way.
2. Surely you have powers other than your Assault set to use? With Dominators relying on their control set to provide an active defence you should be applying their effects between blasts? (I know I do)
3. See 2.
Personally I think this is a great improvement over the previous yo-yo performance of your average Doms. Now my Mind/Fire doesn't feel like she's wielding a zippo lighter half the time. -
Woot! We are to be gone to teh amerikanz!
*Queue 1950s BBC accent*
Now remember all you Brit's out there, that you're British...
*Land of hope and glory starts*
We must uphold the national image for our transatlantic cousins.
The stiff upper lip must not waver.
Nerfs are not "Doom" they are merely a nuisance (upgrading to "bloody nuisance" if deemed gamebreaking).
We must maintain the sense of fair play. Offer tea before flaming, or somesuch, it's only polite.
And trolling just isn't cricket.
Tea and scones anyone?
<Just incase: I am well aware that these are EU boards but lampooning a national culture that isn't my own just wouldn't be cricket, would it?>

Super Strength/Shield or Super Strength/Willpower Scrapper anyone?
It could get rather messy. -
The problem with ramping the debt back up is you stunt the progression rate of playing the game. Remember the content void that used to be the late 30s in CoH? Granted that wasn't entirely the fault of debt but the probable outcome is finishing all the storyarcs and then grinding out hours of tedious radio missions because you got killed a couple of times.
Ramping up XP debt = shortest route to XP grind. It does not make you think "I better be careful", it makes you think, " Oh heck, another hour of grinding to work that off".
XP Debt is not the answer, a new approach is worth looking at. A number of prominent MMOs use debuffs (stacking ones)as a "death penalty", maybe the Devs should take a look at them. -

This is why I love my triform so much.
I keep an eye on the tank. If he's in trouble, I'll shunt over to dwarf form and take the heat off him so that he can recover.
I keep an eye on the team debuffer, and if he's in trouble, throw a heal at him.
The rest of the time, I'm busy creaming bad guys and making the rest of the team wonder if it was worth them turning up.
[/ QUOTE ]Yeah, I get that too. With your PB going "angry Vorlon" one mobs, you have to remind the rest of team that you can only do that because they are making you that powerful.
Back OT:
The argument that new players won't know how to use tactics in combat is bunkum. You don't suddenly learn how to "pull" on reaching L20 with your first toon. I've seen L50s continually fail at pulling because they don't know how to break line-of-sight.
It may take a little time to perfect but using your brain is an L1 power -

It was good for making you a more carefull player.
[/ QUOTE ]Nah, that was running the Hollows with just sprint. -

I disagree with the pair of you it was rather easy to get into a lot of debt in the old days and i was a tank so my ability to avoid or withdraw from combat were rather limited when tanking for a team.
[/ QUOTE ]
My debt badge-less triform PB disagree's with you. It's all about playstyle. If a tanker is getting smeared then he either took on more than his defenses could handle, or his team aren't doing their jobs.
[/ QUOTE ]This^
Most Tank deaths I have seen since I started playing this game were the result of two factors:
1) The Tank getting overconfident/sloppy and taking on more than its primary could handle.
2) The rest of the team not supporting the Tank properly. (Too many times I've seen defenders blasting away when they should have been watching over their team's buffs) -
25% would be too much. However an ability penalty is better than ramping debt back up.
If a fight is as hard as you argue, then the question has to be asked: Why did you attempt it without help in the first place? It's easy to gauge the abilities of an AV and compare strength before the first attack is thrown. This all goes back to thinking before you charge. -
Why not simply add a duration death penalty effect?
For example a stackable 10% reduction in HP and Recharge for 1 hour of Game Time.
Play like a reckless noob and you get nerfed for an hour. Continue to play like a reckless noob and we nerf you into oblivion! -
Seems to me like they just got carried away with making badges for anything they could possibly add a counter to. Now, after the dust has settled it's dawned on them that they went waaay to far. To be honest I'm not fussed with this revoking of the more superfluous MA badges.

Thanks Ideon! That's some useful advice.
-
I'm curious. Does anyone have experience of the Super Strength / Super Seflexes combo? If so how does has it turned out? Any suggestion from your experience?
-
Very interesting.
The question is, has he learned from them? -
For now all I have keeping me here is my SG-mates, the toons I've yet to 'finish' and no better place to go.

here what's with the Mondeo bashing? Top Gear car of the year I will have you know.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah! Swap it for a Vectra! Clarkson hates the things, and as I happen to OWN one, I utterly agree with him! They suck worse than i15 does!
[/ QUOTE ]Done. -
To keep with the car analogy. Since i12 we've been sold on the basis that we're getting a McLaren SLR "Soon", if i15 turns out to be a repainted Vectra with 100k on the clock then it could get rather ugly.

FFM has pretty much said it all. I'm too underwhelmed to be angry right now.
-
There better be one hell of a barnstorming content announcement from Positron. As it stands this issue reads very poorly.
-
Anyone running a sweepstake on how many times Positron says "Soon" in his address?
