Will we be needing to ditch our NVIDIA cards?
Does it honestly matter? I mean, I've played plenty of games with ATi slapped on their boxed without problems on an NVIDIA card... :\

No not really. But it's always nice to squeeze as much performance out of the game as possible.

Its just who does some sponsoring/advertising. Is it Ati, then Ati, if else. Nvidia.

It's still an old outdated engine, no matter what card you use...

well, there have been some talk about graphic update that may or may not be coming up with Going Rogue...
maybe the ATI gpu bring more options than the Nvidia ones for the plan the devs may have for that improbable update ans thus the change of favorite video cards builders
(lots of "may" I know huhu, nothing sure with those devs of us )

Meh
Ok but hey...
It's not helping

It's called a joke. Try it sometime. Flamin' hell...
Seriously though, nothing to worry about, you card should just handle the game as well as it always has done, and if you've got a fairly recent one, you're prolly not going to see any noticeable changes in performance any time soon, are you?

It can only be good for ATI (AMD) users it may get rid of some of the issues AMD has with CoH

Hope not.
Besides...not a chance in hell I'm gonna go back to ATI.
Never had so much problems with GeForce as I had with Radeon.
Great cards, but far from stable.

I like my nvidia card but since i got an upgraded pc, it cane with Vista on Vista on i had all sorts of probs with COH, Nvidia / Vista. Was only by rolling back my drivers and messing about with hot fixes have i got CoH stable again, bad thing is i cant play AoC now as looking for newer drivers and soon as i put the newer drivers on CoH crashes , white screen randomly
I reckon if i still had XP on machine prob be okay for using my Nvidia with more upto date drivers.
And is only COH i have had this prob on, maybe the new effects adn the like will take be more compatible with Vista/ Nvidia and ill then update my driver again when compatabilty issues are resolved. Paragaon may have given up trying to find a solution for the problem, and shifted over to ati and wash thier hands of the nvidia/vista issue taht so many have experianced.

Ban_Sidhe does your 260 work alright with the game? Are you able to have any of the following options on without causing screen flickering:
- FSAA
- Depth of field effects
- Bloom effects
- Bloom amount
- Desaturation effects
I ask because I can't have any of those on, on my 295... and even so I have an issue where the game goes from really dark to really bright from time to time.

Paragon Studios have sided with ATi for a while now, even though the game itself still retches on Radeons.

The ATI thing is not really an issue, more of an interesting note that NVIDIA is predominant on the game screen, but the website is leaning towards ATI. It might be interesting if the devs are using some OpenGL calls that perform better on the ATI than on the NVIDIA cards.

Yep! I have everything turned on and it's brill. I even manage to get 50-60FPS in GV! (As long as I'm not looking in the wrong place, 25-30FPS if I am looking in the wrong place ) I'm running Win7 x64 RC (Build 7100) but the latest NVIDIA patch that included the ION drivers boned the game. So I rolled back to the previous version for Win7, and they work a treat

Not sure if op is right but I have 9800GT nvidia card and the latest driver does not work with CoX but works lovely on everything else, all you get with CoX is a completely blank screen with music in the background, I also know that this is not just me affected by this.
Too many 50's to list here's a few you may know.

no issues with my ancient radeon 9600, saying that if I run on high graphics it lags, an on a rikti raid it lags even on minimal lol

All this does is confuse me. The game ran best for me when I had XP + a far from top of the range ATI card (Radeon X1550, I think). At the time, the game displayed the NVidia "The Way it's meant to be played" logo. Then I "upgraded" (I use the term advisedly) to Vista and a GeForce 9400 GT,and the game is much more choppy. Granted, I have more things turned up than before, but I paid for better graphics, dammit, so I'm going to try and use them!
All in all, it seems to me that polishing someone else's logo doesn't mean your game runs like a gazelle on their card alone, and like a club-footed troll on everyone else's cards. All it means is whatever card I buy, Microsoft will think of a way to work in harmony with its manufacturer to stress me out of a several months of precious life.
i have An MSI NVIDIA geforce 8800 gfs And i can run everything on hight without problem, i think ppl need to do something about there software or there card is just not working well
i also don't like ati simply because it's slow and is hot very fast, it really belongs with amd, also burning out before the real power is needed.
Well with my 8800 I still get those funky black textures and really weird shadows in RV. Shadows may be weird for all though, but it's embarassing when I show the game to people, especially when I tell them those black boxes has been there for way more than a year.
...my friends are never convinced the game's worth playing!
Right. My previous post had me a hundred miles away from my PC. Back home now
I'm running Driver 185.85 for Win 7 x64.
Seriously, Vista is a broken down nag compared to either Win 7 or XP. Reminds me of the Windows Millenium debacle at the turn of the century. XP probably still out-performs Win 7 in certain ways, but darn if Win 7 ain't turning out to be a worthy successor to XP. I know it's still the Vista architecture under the hood, but I'd treat Vista as a rushed beta of Win 7. It's a bit like Star Trek films... The even ones are usually good (Note: Usually. I'm sure most people will want to forget the even one I'm thinking of)

<3 Win 7
All I need is some working drivers for my Nostromo (unlikely tbh ) and I'll quietly ditch Vista from my laptop and probably stop using XP on my PC too.
Then I'll start saving for 2x business versions of win7 for when my RC runs out.
It's picky, I know. But I noticed recently that the NVIDIA symbol has disappeared from the US site to be replaced by ATI RADEON.
Does this mean that Paragon studios have sided with ATI now? Are they recommending ATI for best performance of the game? Do I need to ditch my lovely NVIDIA GTX260 for an ATI card? Will Doom ensue? etc... yada yada.
Seriously though, up till now COX has been firmly in the NVIDIA camp. Is this changing? I presume only Avatea will know.
