Do a Mayhem mission, you will get a free temp travel power of jetpack or jump pack. With judicious usage this should last you to lvl 28.

Ice/Rad is great, watch your foes cry as they discover they can't hit you and then their recharge stops working /e evillaugh

My Corrupter took down a Controller in Bloody Bay lastnight..
The guy was standing there spamming kenetic attacks on something, so I drop in behind him, land rad infection, followed by envererating field and proceed to attack. He attempts to run but doesn't get far and finally drops.
I then get abuse along the lines of ZOMG I was AFK you f**k.
Two questions,
1. why stand AFK in a PvP zone and expect to be safe?
2. why claim to be AFK if he was there spamming kenteic attacks? -
What build have you gone for?
I tried a spine regen stalker and hated it but fell in lobe with Claws SR -
Having played a /rad upto 40 I've found choking cloud to be less end hungry than enverating field. Put a coouple of end reducerd in it and you can have it happily running all the time. It is also worth its weight in end as the hold work brilliantly in both PvP and PvE. I was attacked by both a Blaster and a Scrapper in Sirens, the choking cloud aheld the blaster while I finished off the Scrapper first and allowed me to beat them both

RI, EF, LR are the unholy trifecter of powers, will reduce anything to a lump of deadmeat in PvE or PvP. Rads FTW
-
Also the Endurance zapping spec ops guys, thx the might dev team they are being nerfed, nothing quite so annoying as suddenly having you endurance go from 100 to zero in a matter of seconds because you've been hit by a spec-ops end zapper.
-
I am smashing my way through the Rogue Isles at he helm of the big brute Atrophy. Elec/Dark
My question is, if I slot the attacks for rndurance modification does this affect the endurance drained as well as the endurance delivered by the punch? Would love to be able to suck an opponents Enfurance dry by hitting them. -
Two words that will put a stop to your killing spree..
LONGBOW BALLISTA
Incredible amount of damage resistance coupled with hurtful quantities of damage. -

What really gets me about Spines is Impale. Ranged -fly, -jump and immob with really good damage. Can you say squishy killer?

I'm interested to know just how a spines / regen would come out on top of a fight against an SR scrapper / stalker anyway. Radiant, did you have defence against the AoEs (the main problem for stalkers in Hide) and ranged attacks? Those are essentially the Spines' thing... as well as their toxic damage, which not many have resistance against.
IMO, it should be 50 / 50 - Spines can't get past the defences, and I would guess MA is possibly the best scrapper / stalker primary to attack regen with it's single target emphasis...
I think.

Yep got all the SR powers as soon as possible and 3 slotted em all with DEF SOs but evade doesn't appear until lvl 35 so can't be used in sirens. -
From what I could see of the heroes team there was no Empath, just 4 or 5 spines regen, a MA regen Scrapper and a tanker of some kind.
On the stealth point, I don't see where I could fit stealth into my build, SR pretty much demands you take every power, my primary is claws of which I have strike, slash and focus together with AS (note no placate or buildup below 30 as it is), when you add a travel power and fitness then there is no room for stealth.
The whole +ACC doesn't seem fair either, why should one power pretty much make my entire secondary set redundant. -
Getting really into my stalker so thought I'd try her out in Sirens (Defiant) the other night, this enthusiasm lasted for about 2 minutes then I realised why nobody bothers much with PvP on the villains side.
I turned up villain compound turned all toggles on (SR secondary) flew up to compound to see a bunch of heroes camped there basically waiting to gank anyone who came out. Hovering hidden by by the wall it took all of 5 seconds for the first thrown spines to hit and knock me to the floor. Ok fine I though they can obvious see through my hide and got lucky shot SR is really quite good in PvE so must provide some defence in PvP, err no, 5 seconds later I found myself teleported into the midst of the heroes gank zone and blam dead.
Go to hospital (which for some reason no longer actually heals you???) rest a bit to get health and stamina back up. Go back up to wall and low and behold, 4 sets of thrown spines all hit leaving me immobilized, then of course the pack close in, slash slash hospital again.
Thanks to the terrific decision to make hospital crap now had to wait around for rest to recharge before I could actually heal again and try for a third time.
This time me and the other 3 stalkers decided to try to rush hero and try a combined assault to at least try and take one down. Predictably as we headed towards them a hail of spines impacted, I got close enough to unleash a Focus strike that scored a crtical hit but was almost instantaneously healed by regen and predictable got shredded.
Ever the optimist I tried again, flew up over the wall to see what was going on, went back into the compound only to be teleported back into gank zone and bam dead again.
By that time I was totally disenchanted with the entire PvP thing and left Sirens for good.
What have I learned about PvP
1) Unless you are a spines regen scrapper you are crap and will die
2) Hide is worthless as every body can see through it
3) SR is useless and as you get hit all the time and don't get a heal so you're just gonna die.
4) The 'improvements' to hospitals in PvP zones now mean that most of the action now takes place while waiting for your rest to recharge.
5) Teleport foe doesn't need line of sight and seems to totally ignore SRs defense.
6) Heroes are spawn point lhamas just waiting for someone to pop their head over the wall so they can gank em.
Tried it, its rubbish and won't be rushing back. -
Add to the list any ambushes that come along due to an event (click on book case or triggering an alarm in a mayhem mission).
Best defence I've found to these is not being hit, it doesn't matter if they can see you only if they hit you is hide broken so SR or Ninjitsu give a stalker a definite edge here. Its great to be able to AS someone who is looking right at you. -
Here's my build (minus slotting) - upto lvl 34 atm

I'd still try and get focus senses in as early as possible (even if you have to put off an attack) as it will stop you getting shot while running way. If anything it is more important than Focus Fighting. (fancy getting your AS interrupted by a bullet?)
-
I know it's controversial but I delayed getting both buildup and placate till the late 20's in order to get as much as possible of the SR pool. As a claws stalker (especially with hasten) you are going to be able to buzz through bad guys without the need for placate anyway. Plus leaving Placate to higher levels allows you to slot it with recharge SOs straight away.

You also questioned Shockwave because its aoe power, does the same apply to Eviscerate?
[/ QUOTE ]
Eviscerate is a lot higher damage than shockwave but the cone is narrower (30 degree I think). Better taking that over shockwave IMHO.
ARE YOU REALLY SURE YOU WANT TO LEAVE FOCUSED SENSES TILL 32??? - Your toggles are your best defences and not having Focused Senses leaves you wide open to blasters and Scrappers who chuck spines.
One thing to note about the SR pool, you really need ALL the powers to be truely effective. It's a drag but when you can stand infront of 4 attacking enemies and wait for hide to kick in while they attack its well worth it.
As an example, I was invited to team with my mates 35 Rad.Kin corrupter last night. He's one level higher and we were doing vicious missions so it was +2 mobs with extra for 2 players (relentless +).
He had to go AFK, I got bored and solo'd the whole mission waiting for him to come back including the Purple Freakshow Tank boss and his two red bodyguards.
Claws SR stalkers kick serious booty.
BTW at later levels you might want to find a way to get aid self into your set. I'm planning on skipping Patron Powers all together. -
I'd also drop shockwave (who needs an AoE for PvP?) and get slash as an early level power, slash has a -def penalty to the target and since I7 is now as quick as strike. Strike, Slash and Focus (with 1 SO in recharge redux) plus Quickness will pretty much give you a constant attack chain without the need for hasten.
-
As a Claws SR myself I can not understate the importance of getting Focus as soon as possible (18), this is one of the most effective powers in the set as the knockdown basically allows you to floor your chosen opponents and attack pretty much unmolested, this works especially well with Freak Tanks who have high resistance to Lethal but take ages to get up from a knockback.

dark is awesome and all you lot who say it dosn't have defence really need to go get a good hero planner as it does and its almost 30%.
So wake up and smell the darkness
[/ QUOTE ]
Hahaha almost 30% eh.. wow..wish SR or Ninjitsu was that good.. oh wait they are, infact they are miles better -
Main problem I can see with /Dark stalker is the set is based around reduction and not avoidance. Stalkers work best when they don't get hit as they can recharge hide and pull off a placate crit easily. Dark would suffer from the same drawbacks as regen, namely everything hits so you get interrupted a lot.

My Claws/SR plays pretty much like a scrapper anyway so I haven't had any real problems with Mayhem, only annoying thing is the inssitance on AOE and Flamethrower attacks (lvl 34 don't get AoE evade till 35
). Always end up meeting Blast Furnace as Hero in bank, his AoE fire attacks kill me
