  1. It's got way more than enough ram, and a great processor. The graphics are SandyBridge's integrated graphics... which, as far as Intel's graphics go, is flat out amazing... unfortunately, as far as AMD/nVidia graphics go, it's mediocre at best. CoH will be more than playable, but, most likely at sub-UM levels (and even then, probably crappy performance on raids).

    Playable? Yes. Pretty? Not really.
  2. I recently got a friend to start playing CoH (on a freem account- old trial I guess), and they rolled an Energy Blast/Rad Emission Corruptor, and I was wanting to roll something to play with them.

I've been sitting on the character creation screen for.... I think 30-40 minutes at this point, going through all different things in my head, and I think I've some how made negative progress! At first I was thinking only Defenders/Corruptors so I could focus on buffing them (so they could feel more awesome, and thus be more likely to stay ), but, now I'm not sure what to make!

I can't for the life of me come up with something that'd work well with a /Rad Corr (even if they sort of neglect their secondary at this point!), without coming off as showing them up (like, say, a Scrapper or Blaster would).

    Any suggestions?
  3. Well, unless someone already knows the answer to it... there's an easy way to test!

Make two new characters (one on each of two accounts), and then log them in overnight, team them, and enter the mission of the person that isn't the star... when the night is over, whoever has more progress determines who gets credit!
  4. AFAIK, yes. The only thing you couldn't do is the repeatable mission vendor (aka the borea/newspaper/police scanner/cimerora guy equivalent)

At least when you're running a mission, you're SKed to the mission holder... does that still only count towards the team leader, though?
  6. The video also shows Fireball doing -fly/knockdown (and making the guy scream)... I think it's a pretty safe bet that it means nothing, other than whoever made the video had a bit of fun pretending.
  7. I'm fairly certain this is WAI. The only reason the WST doesn't work this way is, more likely than not, because they're different strike targets.

If the selection window works the same way it used to (not sure), you could just logout with it still up, without making a selection, and then waiting out the timer (iirc, it says how long till it's claimable). When you log back in, it should still be up.
  8. The Incarnate powers will just be disabled when you drop down to Preem (just like how IOs would operate).

Damn casual players and their purpled out warshades!
  9. How far does the First Ward lockout go for preems/freems without it bought?

I know they can enter the zone (or so I've read on these boards...), but what if they join a team that's going to do a mission there? For AE, when you start the mission they'll be kicked off the team (I tested that ). I'm curious whether I can run some missions in First Ward with a friend on a freem account.

Write error? That's on your end... make sure you're saving it to a directory you've got write permission (don't just use 'run'!), and that your disk isn't full!

My freem account (not premium) could not be invited to my SG... so you'd need to spend some amount of money (even as little as $5).
  12. Welcome back!

It's a new change with Issue 21. There's also a tier 5 (gotta be 14+ and have 2 others from the pool ) for the travel pools as well.

Most importantly, did they just remove the prerequisite requirements across the board? I ask because I've got a char where I plan on taking hover at say 8 or ten, then following up with teleport at a later time. I didn't know if jumping to a second pool would require that I grab TP friend first.
They didn't remove it across the board, but only for the travel pools. e.g. you can't get Tough/Aid Self/etc at level 4, but must wait till 14 and have at least 1 prior power from the pool.
  13. I don't think Dominators would be able to accomplish it... they'd not enough +recharge to be able to stack enough confuses... But, with 8 controllers, you should be able to get massive amounts of +recharge even with powers only going to 25. Though, even with that many... would you be able to actually confuse Numina?

And with Numina confused, would she actually end up doing enough damage to a +5 Hero to kill them (likely just running around constantly swapping targets)? What about 8 Illusion/Rad Controllers... 8x AM + 8x Phantom Army... Surely that's gotta be worth something (at least in that case, you likely wouldn't have to worry so much about aggro!).

She may grant one of you Fortitude, then immediately proceed to mind**** the whole team.
I was worried about the duration... at the very least, you could just spam Phantom Army for lulz

Would they have permanent access to all the content, builds, and costumes that come with GR, or will they still have to spend the PP to acquire them in the store?
They'll have access to all the GR stuff, same as if you had bought and applied it before Freedom. The only difference is they would not get the 2 free character slots.

I thought that this only worked for clickie buffs, not auras like Group Fly (which would continually reapply the buff)... but, I've not actually done any testing so I'm not sure.
  16. Fiery Aura's Burn requires you to be on the ground. I believe Lighting Rod requires you to be on the ground as well (the target, hilariously enough, can be floating in the air!). Shield Charge might also require you to be on the ground, depending on how close of a clone of LR it is (same for Spring Attack).

This'd be why. I'm fairly certain that the only option is to buy all the standard auras. The name/description should have made that clear (at least I hope it would!).

Remove all permissions from all members of the SG except the ability to invite and promote.
Invite anyone and promote them to leader (or, really, any rank). Have them then invite your alts.
Once done, kick them with your super leader.
Grant the other ranks whatever abilities you want to give them.

    Ta da!
It's really not that hard, just ask on a global channel for your server.

Paragon Wiki's Paragon Rewards article's only mention of SG is that you must be level 2+ to be able to join one (which means having paid any money to Paragon, pretty much... minimum $5)- there's no other mention that of further SG access or anything else. I did think that you'd have to be higher than 2 for full rights, but, I'm not seeing it there, so that might not be the case. I've not bothered to upgrade my Freem account to Preem, so I can't comment on it.

    Edit:

Everyone starts with 1 token, so you only need an extra token. Paying $5 to get the minimum amount of PPs will grant you the first-points-purchase token.
  19. No change on any of my characters (leveled two characters up to 20+, played a 45, and some others).

I'd say most likely just perception bias/a weird streak.

But because I would be forced to buy at least the Mastermind archetype that idea would no longer work. But I appreciate your help.
You should already have at least 400 PP on your account, and so unless you've already spent it, MMs would be no more than $10. Each month you're subscribed, you get 400 PP (550 if you're tier8+... or was it tier9?).

How long will it take you to go from 1-50? If more than a month, then buying MMs would likely be cheaper... otherwise it obviously wouldn't. If you're trying to save money, you've got many, many, many options...

    Crit Damage

Criticals are already an incredibly good inherent... I don't think Scrappers are in need of an across-the-board damage buff
