  1. Yup. Thanks, guys.

@Rebel_Scum: They could use the main effect behind TP foe, and add some damage. I only know a little C++ though, so I'm probably missing/unaware of something.

@NerfSilver: You could also pick a Meteor Hammer
  2. Huh. Ya learn something new every 47 minutes and 39 seconds...barring timey-wimey stuff.
  3. I was very bored one day, and came up with an idea for a powerset that I think would be wicked cool: Chain fighting!

This (Scrapper/Tanker/Brute/Stalker) set would be decent damage, with knockdown, a little ranged ability, and it uses SJ's Combo System. It also uses DoT stacking, at the cost of somewhat reduced upfront damage.

Some powers that could be in this set:

    Chain Fighting Melee Set

    *Brute

1: Quick Strike: Melee (Light DMG[Smashing/Lethal], Minor DoT[Lethal], Foe Knockdown, Combo Builder[1])

1: Strong Strike: Melee (Moderate DMG[Smashing/Lethal], Minor DoT[Lethal], Foe Knockdown, Combo Builder[1])

2: Wide Swing: Ranged[Short Cone] (High DMG[Smashing/Lethal], Minor DoT[Lethal], Foe Stun, Finisher)

    6: Build Momentum: Click (Self +DMG, +ToHit, Combo Builder[3])

8: Yank: Ranged (Mild DMG[Lethal], Foe TP, Knockdown, Combo Builder[1])

12: Taunt: Ranged[TAoE] (Foe Taunt, -Range)

18: Whirling Links: PBAoE (High DMG[Smashing/Lethal], Minor DoT[Lethal], Foe Knockdown, Finisher)

26: Chain Slam: Ranged[Narrow Cone] (Superior DMG[Smashing/Lethal], Minor DoT[Lethal], Foe Stun, Knockdown, Combo Builder[1])

    32: Whirling Strike: Melee[Cone] (Extreme DMG[Smashing/Lethal], Minor DoT[Lethal], Foe Knockback, -Res[Smashing, Lethal])

    *Scrapper

1: Quick Strike: Melee (Light DMG[Smashing/Lethal], Minor DoT[Lethal], Foe Knockdown, Combo Builder[1])

1: Strong Strike: Melee (Moderate DMG[Smashing/Lethal], Minor DoT[Lethal], Foe Knockdown, Combo Builder[1])

2: Wide Swing: Ranged[Short Cone] (High DMG[Smashing/Lethal], Minor DoT[Lethal], Foe Stun, Finisher)

    6: Build Momentum: Click (Self +DMG, +ToHit, Combo Builder[3])

8: Yank: Ranged (Mild DMG[Lethal], Foe TP, Knockdown, Combo Builder[1])

12: Taunt: Ranged[TAoE] (Foe Taunt, -Range)

18: Whirling Links: PBAoE (High DMG[Smashing/Lethal], Minor DoT[Lethal], Foe Knockdown, Finisher)

26: Chain Slam: Ranged[Narrow Cone] (Superior DMG[Smashing/Lethal], Minor DoT[Lethal], Foe Stun, Knockdown, Combo Builder[1])

    32: Whirling Strike: Melee[Cone] (Extreme DMG[Smashing/Lethal], Minor DoT[Lethal], Foe Knockback, -Res[Smashing, Lethal])

    *Stalker

1: Quick Strike: Melee (Light DMG[Smashing/Lethal], Minor DoT[Lethal], Foe Knockdown, Combo Builder[1])

1: Strong Strike: Melee (Moderate DMG[Smashing/Lethal], Minor DoT[Lethal], Foe Knockdown, Combo Builder[1])

2: Wide Swing: Ranged[Short Cone] (High DMG[Smashing/Lethal], Minor DoT[Lethal], Foe Stun, Finisher)

6: Critical Swing: Melee (Special DMG[Smashing/Lethal], Combo Builder[2])

    8: Build Momentum: Click (Self +DMG, +ToHit, Combo Builder[3])

    12: Placate: Ranged (Foe Placate)

18: Whirling Links: PBAoE (High DMG[Smashing/Lethal], Minor DoT[Lethal], Foe Knockdown, Finisher)

    38: Whirling Strike: Melee[Cone] (Extreme DMG[Smashing/Lethal], Minor DoT[Lethal], Foe Knockback, -Res[Smashing, Lethal])

  5. My vote: Steel Canyon! I would love to see it become the bustling urban center it was meant to be.
  6. I dunno about the Multi-server part, but I like the idea. Perhaps the no level change part might incite too much munchkinry, however. /sign
  7. I agree that we should be allowed more asymmetry. I also wish we could freeform place symbols.

    3D Mode!

I was watching TV, and had the idea for adding optional 3D support to CoH. What do you guys think?

    Prestige Sets!

I had an idea one day... The idea that there could be powersets unlocked by running certain story arcs. These would be VIP Arcs, but could be purchased with Paragon Points (About 600, between standards for a powerset and for a signature arc).

    Examples would include:

    1.Ghouls: MM Primary

Goldside(Both): Investigate the Ghouls and eventually psionically control a squad of them.

    2.Inflict Disease: Defender/Corruptor Primary, Dominator/Controller/MM Secondary

Redside: Steal an experimental bioweapon from an Arachnos Lab and use it to hold the Rogue Isles hostage.

Blueside: Investigate a Lost/Rikti plot to convert the city into Lost using an airborne retrovirus.

    Goldside(Loyalist[both], Resistance[Warden]):Contain a Tellurian Plague outbreak.
  10. He might even give missions that hark back to old Golden- and Silver-Age comic books, and he constantly complains that They Changed It, Now It Sucks.
  11. ...Interesting, and workable I would think, except...How the heck would you fit that in the info window?
  12. I was playing Munchkin Cthulhu when I came up with this. I was a little uncertain about the title, though.

  13. One small question: What origin is Tin Mage?
  14. /Signed. This seems like a very effective way to handle solo Incarnate progression.

    Ancient Japan!

I keep saying, This was meant to be Feudal Japan, but it was a lot easier to call it Ancient than try to explain the Feudal period. I still have to say, like Azure, that although I would like to also see the old dulls get polished than see new shinies, but I also just suggested this because I thought it was an interesting idea. I wish people didn't like to argue over every little point. And an "/unsigned" is just kind of pointless unless it was "/signed" by the poster to begin with.
  16. I like the idea, and would certainly play it. /signed^3
  17. I dunno... I think, if this went through sufficient beta testing, and it was properly balanced, it could work. for example, if you chose one primary sphere, and could choose powers at varying levels based on the strength of the power and how close to the main sphere it is.

    Example:

"Jimmy" choose defense as his main sphere. He can chose a first- or second-tier power from defense, and a first-tier power from melee or pets. later, at the sixth or seventh power, Jimmy can choose from ranged or control powers, shifted down to lower-level tiers. later, at say, the 15th or 16th power, he can choose from ranged or control sets, shifted to lower levels. Finally, by the 20th power, good ol' Jim can finally get some support powers.

Couple that with a limit on freestyles and a level-50 unlock prerequisite, and it could work.

    Ancient Japan!

I am aware, but not everyone is quite so informed about Japanese history.

    Ancient Japan!

Praetorian Japan would be a nuked-up, DE-filled wasteland, just like the rest of the Praetorian world (except Praetoria).

    Ancient Japan!

While I agree that some may not care for am ancient Asian zone, some people would, and like with Cimerora and the RWZ, it would not be mandatory, and players could totally skip it. If you feel that No True Scotsman would want to play in the proposed area, that's your opinion, but that's no reason not to at least let others enjoy the idea. I am thinking in the vein of what rian said:

"... there is a great deal more that could be done with the legendary creatures and characters from such a large and culturally diverse area than is currently being done with a medium level group with no larger story implications, tfs or themed zones."

Now, as for the original topic, what comments/ideas/questions do people have?
  21. I am amazed that the majority of you guys are just shooting at this. I think this could be a very good system, and even if you disagree, there's no need for such acidic verbal abuse.

    Is Triumph dead?

Yes I am on Triumph Watch 2.0, and although I am aware of the mid issue drop, this seems... much greater.
