Map you like to revamp

New Atlas Park and the whole Praetoria are so beautiful. I must say thank you devs. I love them

I have strong feeling that perhaps they are making more things like that. So... what you think bright headed heroes and evil evildoers? Which map you hope the most to revamp and why? Of course "I don't want anything new" is also option for Memphis Bill

I'm thinking at Perez Park right now. I like the feeling and atmosphere of Perez Park but I think it is one of oldest looking map. So revamp could make a big difference to give more wild and feral feeling. Perhaps I'm little bit nostagic but I have warm memories about times when Perez Park was street hunt area number one. This is good opportunity to do something good for treetops also and very very mazelike park itself. Bubbling water, birds, steamy mist clouds, buzzing insects, creeping vines etc. could give very nice athmosphere. Of course Perez Park needs at least one good mission arch and option to select that instead of Hollows. Or maybe you could select that after David Wincott as option of Flux or Meg Mason.

Well Eden needs that same thing but many new players see Perez park first.

---
edit. Maybe its better just put zone names here than trying to make real voting system.

Ok. This are the zones what we think needs most of love. All of them I see

Perez Park
Boom Town
Steel Canyon
Dark Astoria
Talos Island
Indy Port

---

Well those votes are not too accurate because people like to revamp practically all zones just like me

Yes Boom Town was in my mind also. First Ward makes any other destroyed zones to look so old and Boom Town is very potential zone.

In that order? Yes they all needs some love. I'm taking your first option as a vote

Steel Canyon could do with a cosmetic buff for sure.

Piccadilly Circus? Times Square? I'm envisaging big LCD screens, a few 'clubs' and some high-class properties in one area with a more commercial/office feel in the centre.

Boomtown and Dark Astoria, naturally, could do with an upgrade. And I agree with Perez too. Especially now Galaxy is 'gone'. An arc or two would be nice. Not sure about what exactly. Maybe the gang wars between the Hellions and Skulls?

All of the old ones.

I don't see why we should be content to aim small.
Oh, and that's for zones.

For MAPS? Layer Cake room/Donut Cave room/OhGODnotTHISARRRRGH! room. You all know the one I mean.

I hope by "revamp" you mean "remove from the game entirely, nuke from orbit, then travel back in time to prevent them from ever existing".

Because that's the only way to be sure.

Boomtown needs to include some of the newer encounters in it like the reconstruction project that villains sabotage around levels 15-20 as well as the rise of the 5th in Boomtown.

Perez needs more damage. I mean it's supposed to be in the hands of the gangs but there's barely any gang-related motifs or drappings anywhere. The buildings and statues still look pristine (6 years olf pristine but still).

Galaxy coulda done with an upgrade too. Those nice shiney buildings in 'Galaxy Destroyed'... nowhere to be found in the Echo of Galaxy, it's the same dated bits we've been looking at for 7 years.

I would love to see small areas of Boom Town, Faultline, Perez Park the Hollows being reclaimed, Dark Astoria needs to show some progress towards reclamation too. Perhaps in DA we could see an increased PPD presence fighting a mystical battle. Where are all the Jr NPC heroes? Seems to me they should be lending a hand with all this stuff!

Admittedly, running through the tutorial a second time and taking a bit more of my time made me feel this way too. The problem with destroying a place for impact on the player's mind is that it needs to look a bit like the old place that was destroyed. New Galaxy looks nothing like old Galaxy, and we don't even see distant landmarks to remind us that it was, except for maybe that possible Galaxy Girl statue while fighting the Giant Shivan, and even then, there's no sign of the Freedom Corps building it's supposed to be behind, no sign of a ruined Arena or Tram station, or even a hint of Gemini park remaining.
Don't get me wrong, the new tutorial is awesome, but having played the game for awhile, it's doesn't feel like a destroyed Galaxy City to me, it feels more like another area of Paragon or some other city under attack.
/endrant.

To answer the OP's question, I'd lean towards Dark Astoria for a light revamp.
It doesn't even need new buildings, just maybe more than a quartet of SWAT officers guarding the hazard gates, some Midnighters and Legacy Chain, and throw in some actual content. This would be a GREAT place to make use of the disappearing/appearing contact tech.

For heavier revamping (new buildings, etc...), I'd put my money down for Cap Au Diable (the shiny new buildings would look perfect for Aeon City, also, three words: Aeon Convention Center), St. Martial (Shiny buildings, more glitz, more glam!), Boomtown (as others have said, show some reconstruction progress), and Steel Canyon (Same as Aeon city and St. Martial, maybe expand the overall map and throw in the Steel Canyon Convention Center.)

For a super revamp: Skyway City. and what I mean by a super revamp, it means it's revamp would affect even other zones by having it's sprawling highways pour over into them, and Skyway can't just have Praetoria/new Atlas Park buildings, Skyway, to me, is a place that DEMANDS Art Deco EVERYWHERE, the place needs to look like Rapture if Andrew Ryan built it on the surface. It needs some unique buildings like a Concert Hall, an grand, outdoor auditorium, and an Art Museum that looks like Frank Lloyd Wright designed it.

Can someone tell me why did we let Penny destroy the PsychoCronoMetron again?

Boomtown and Dark Astoria would be my choice for zones next up on the revamp table.

As for maps I'd have to say remove the layer cake cave entirely. Then destroy the code for it. Only time I'd advocate removing content.

Also, I wouldn't mind if the Council vampyre water chamber map was reworked a bit.

Boomtown When are they going to start reclaiming the area? Militia terrorist groups are training there unhindered. And how come of all the years the Council has been there nearly unopposed have no compounds been built?

Shadow Shard People have complained about the launchers and having portals would be easier than using launchers.

Independence Port Put in train stations on the ends of the map.

Talos Island After seeing sharks in First Ward. I realized that which could improve Talos Island are dolphins. Yes dolphins, with the blue clean pristine waters of Talos Island there should be dolphins, and beach dwellers (volleyball being played, Plastic discs being tossed between individuals, some lady getting her soul possessed, people lounging on towels, surfers, parasailers, windsurfing, nightly BBQs, and people with flipped wigs and helmet hair siting around a fire place while some tool plays a guitar)

People should be able to pound on protesters in Rogue Isles as they are able to in Praetoria.

If it ain't broke set it on fire, then say it was a fault in the design.

This man right here has the right idea. Need I say more? You, you and you, jump to it. Yes, now, but yesterday would have been better.

The same reason evil will always triumph over good eventually; because Good is DUMB

While all the older zones need a brush up, I suspect that the next ones to be looked at will be Perez Park and King's Row.

Argh this stupid soft destroyed my long message

I was talking nice things about you and this game. Ah well I'm not going to do that one again.

So I'm just saying I like what you said Techbot and AzureSkyCiel.

Perhaps later today then

There was an aggressive plot by Lord Recluse to prevent blue side from ever getting any new content ever again as well as shoehorn the Destined Ones story even more into the Villainside stories and retcon it so that he always wins.
Do you really want to kiss spider legs just to get to level 2?

Sorry to hear about your vanishing post, dude. I think my own post ate yours, given how short I had planned it but how long it turned out.

Also, another thing I'd like to suggest for Talos and I.P. that would require a minimal zone change but maybe a bit of coding would be to remove the war walls out over the waters of Talos and the mouth of IP.
IP's new open exit could lead you straight to Peregrine along with where the waters of Talos lead. You don't even need vista tech, just assign two different spawn points (one for IP and one for Talos).

It was that "kick out system" in this forum. I clicked preview button and was instantly logged out and lost the whole post.

For clarification this thread is for zones. (I'm calling them as "maps" in my finnish head because there's no handy translation for the word "zone". Actually there is one but it's too long, clumsy and without real feeling. I think this game and forum are very good for my english. I'm learned many new words like omgz, rofl, sheild, gaurdian and rouge )

Very good ideas AzureSkyCiel

Talos is good suggestion for many reasons. For me Talos is like Atlas Park 2. Most of my blue side toons are hanging there in WW of Talos. First old blue side zone is Talos island when you came out of Praetoria so if you are new player its horrible contrast between new and old. It was that even for me when took my first praetorian to blue side

A few days ago I was superjumping throught Steel Canyon and was thinking like if they are revamping this zone they should remember superjupers. Personally I like to play "don't touch ground game" when travelling there and usually try to get up over the rooftops just for fun and using only superjump. So they should save enough ledges just for fun.

This is good opportunity to put some realistic details in game. There is very nice abandoned gas station in Neutropolis. So sure people in Paragon city want to buy some gas for their very old looking cars Gas stations are places with many encounters in movies. (Robocop soundtrack...)

I don't recognise ruined Galaxy city as Galaxy city at all. It's just some generic ruined area. Yes it's beautiful but it's not Galaxy...

And finally. I totally agree with you Techbot. The blue cave is my hatecave number one also

Hmm, now I'm curious if the MapPack will get an update for the new zones and badges. Anyone know?

Yes that's the word but it's not very good. Too umm... well... Not so many use that word normally. It's too clumsy. Works better in literature.

Some words and phrases works differently in different languages. When I'm speaking finnish about cox with my friends I'll use words like citymap, indoormap, outdoormap, cave etc. English and finnish are so totally different languages anyway. Almost nothing common between them but I'll try to be more accurate. (we don't even have same number of vowels. 8 in finnish) Reading is much easier and my english is based on mostly at old Rolemaster/Spacemaster rulebooks, Star Trek and Stargate TV series and chatting with you in game School is so far prehistoric thing that I can barely remember those times. Once some lost diplodocus smashed teacher. That was fun.

Well this all talk about linguistics needs good end
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNTVzwjEyb4

edit. There is about 25 words of different kind of snows in finnish but not word "please" at all and this is true
