I guess I'm just spoiled by my crab. Nothing ever stuns me. I can stand next to Romulus in an ITF without blinking with that character.
-
-
How does this happen? I have an Ice tank with well over the incarnate cap of 59% defense. He also has T4 everything slotted in all his incarnate abilities (except Hybrid).
I run into a pack of +4x8 "Knives of Artemis" and demolish them. Then I run into the second group and they STUN me?! The knock off my toggles and I'm dead faster than you can spit.
Bwah? -
Quote:shut up and take my money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!what about mom's? Why not make a pregnancy themed power set? Mom's could fight crime with their baby cannon.
Tier 1 - baby cannon - mom does a backflip and out shoots junior wielding a mace to hit the target over the head then snaps back like a rubberband to reload.
Tier 2 - that's gotta hurt - junior pops out throwing shurikens
tier 3 - it's triplets - three babies pop out wielding flame throwers in a cone attack
tier 4 - labor pains - mom lets out a bellow aoe that stuns all her opponents
tier 5 - breathe! - mom's breathing lets her temporarily boost her endurance
tier 6 - push! - this power builds up a boost to damage
tier 7 - i want morphine! - aoe opponents affected flee in terror as mom demands a pain killer and explains how she intends to pull everyones bottom lip up over their heads so they can "share" what she's feeling.
Tier 8 - sympathetic labor pains - aoe affected opponents clutch their stomachs as they experience gut wrenching labor pains
tier 9 - summon babies - three babies are "born" (pets) one wields a mace, another shurikens, the third a flamethrower. -
Quote:I'll be keeping my main gaming station, this will just be a supplemental machine for when I am on vacations, business traveling, etc. I've played the game on minimum settings with ~20 fps and it's playable. It doesn't look good, but I can still solo (get my 'fix') and do a little bit of marketing. If you truly run CoH at 60 FPS with "ultimate" settings you're in for a huge letdown.
I actually pulled the trigger on this early this morning, so I'll know how well it works by the end of the week.
Thanks to everyone for your input! -
I honestly expect very little from this film. Superman is one of those characters that is so ridiculously overpowered that he has never (IMHO) been 'believable' in the unbelievable world of comics.
The only exception to that is "Red Son". -
Quote:True enough. I have a main gaming computer that gets 60fps on "ultimate" with everything turned up. This laptop will be for taking with me on vacation and the occasional 30 minute play session while lying in bed before turning the lights out.I...The big question is what does the OP mean by "decent settings" since one person's decent may be crappy to another.
If I can 30 fps at "medium" settings while running DA repeatables at +4x8 I'm happy. -
My planned new build, using the big spiders in this one, but a very easy swap to other if I can be persuaded that way.

For the first time in a long time I am thinking about a respec on my main, "Itsy-Bitsy Spider". I currently have both sets of pets, and both are permanent due to high recharge.
With the new proc that changes knockback to knockdown, I am looking at picking up frag grenade again. Unfortunately the only way to make room would be to get rid of one of the pets.
So, should I keep the baby spiders or the big spiders? I'm not sure how they really stack up against each other for damage, but I am leaning more towards the big spiders since they bring control to the table which stacks nicely with my wide area web grenade.
Any thoughts? -
I use EA to top off my endurance when needed and to hit the incarnate def cap (59%), and I can do that with a minimal slotting of defense.
As far as "attack chains" go I'm not really much help. I tend to pick all the AOE powers, and enough ST that I always have something to hit... I like hitting buttons.I know how to play a tank and position myself well, but I like having options for attacks and never really settle into a pattern.
LSK may be 'missing' about 15% damage, but s/he is also picking up 9% in bonuses so I think they are pretty comparable. The only thing in LSKs build (IMHO) that looks underwhelming in the dmg department is icicles. However, his/her play style may be more geared toward keeping agro and doing damage as a secondary attribute.
My best advise to play around with both of our builds but don't stray from the plays tyle that makes *you* happy. -
No problem.
A couple things to clear up:
I only take permafrost as a place to stick the 3% defense on the cheap
I never use taunt, but I used it as a mule for the 7.5% recharge
I've never needed hibernate since I am at the def cap, and can easily go over the 59% Incarnate cap with EA.
I haven't slotted the new ATO set yet, which would get me 10% recharge (once purpled). That would allow me to drop taunt, and basically give me 5 free slots to move around. -
This isn't exactly what I am running on my Incarnate Ice/Fire Tank, but it's pretty close. I'll see if I can extract my build from the game later tonight after work if you'd like.

Quote:I just ask someone who has the portal to open one for me, step through, get the badge at the top of the spire, and BAM... instant portal.Speaking only for myself, I take all of my characters through Faultline simply because Doc Delilah's arc seems to be the earliest opportunity to become "Entrusted with the Secret" for Ourobouros access (aside from asking somebody else to drop a portal for me). At the very least, getting it via Delilah's arc is quicker than through, say, Ashwin Lannister's arc in IP. I had to do his arc on one character I neglected to take through Faultline, and ugh, what a pain just to get that Ourobouros portal.

"Insta Snipes"? Bwah? What did I miss?

That was interesting speech, thanks for sharing.

Quote:I have to agree. Guardian may not be the highest population server, but it is far from dead. I play itrials, DA farm runs, and lowbie stuff with old and new players all the time. I've never had a hard time joining a team or making one myself.Pffft, I'm on a team every night on Guardian and have been since Issue 1. We have regular scheduled events, and active community and three busy global chats forming TFs and leagues. Unless you play late or non primetime hours you can find almost anything to do on Guardian. It's not the busiest (thank god) but its far from dead.
-
Your build is quite different from mine, but there are some things you've done that I really like. I may try to 'steal' a couple of ideas for my crab, thanks for the post!
-
Wow, holy blast from the past!
LOL, in the time that this post was sitting here, I deleted the character, re-rolled as an Ice-Fire Tank, and got all my Incarnate slots open and slotted with T3 or better.
Time flies when you're having fun! -
I'll be honest, I've never attempted Stone before for pretty much the issues you just listed. I may have to dig around the boards for speedier build I guess.
Thanks for the reply. -
I am heading from work today (7/5) at 2pm est, and should be on by 2:30 if anyone wants to join me today with roughly the same itinerary.
-
Ya ya ya, we still rock!
-
I'm going for a relatively cheap build (no purples), and survivability. I'm willing to take any advice, as I'm sure this is probably pretty well flubbed.
I am not married to the idea of dark melee, I just like all the utility of it.
I plan on running in Granite, so this is a 'final' build, not a leveling build.
