I used to use Hand Clap purely for fun while soloing. I enjoyed seeing them all go flying while I waited for the Rage crash to wear off. Respeced it out of my final builds, though.

Book - The General Zapped an Angel
Anime - Darker Than Black and A Certain Scientific Railgun
Film - Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama
Song - Pull Out The Pin
Note: In at least one of these cases, the title is far more awesome than the thing itself -

One other point: as a new player, you will only be able to make your first character in Praetoria (the new expansion). After that, you can make them there, Paragon City (the Hero side) or the Rogue Isles (the villain side).
-
Just to be absolutely clear...you have applied the codes to your account after buying them?

Glad to see you made it in game. However, joining the Union Roleplayers channel straight away? You're a brave person

Quote:I totally agree. However:Don't know if this has been said, but I'm kinda hoping that they implement a similar feature in Paragon and the Rogue Isles.
Gee, thanks for that speed boost while I'm here in Wents, now I can shop faster... except for the tremendous lag 20 people standing around with all their powers and everything going is causing, not to mention the additional lag that's being caused by the 3 shields an other things granted me by drive by buffers so that I am well protected while I do that shopping. Never know when a Wentworth's employee will decide to attack.
I was once attacked by a Nemesis ambush inside WW. Somehow they managed to jump the back wall avoiding the Drones. So, don't relax too much when doing your shopping! -

I have one build that more-or-less follows the soft cap build. The other I slotted for Psi resist (Crushing Impact, LotG, Impervium Armour, the Aegis 3%. And I think a Decimation). That's my soloing Scranker build.

5. In EQ2, (sorry) in order to get reasonably good gear, you HAD to group/raid. Is that the case here? (I'm ok with that.)
Just to expand on this, there is no 'gear' in the way most other MMOs have it. You place Enhancements directly into your powers to increase their efficiency. The basic form of these enhancements are able to be bought from vendors easily, and the game is easily playable with these basics.
Things get much more interesting with Invention Enhancements, though, which take some of the place of 'gear'. They are in no way a super must-have, though.
And an obligatory; you can find the answers to most questions you might have here. -

Quote:Thanks for the replies so far - I take the point about not completing a mish if someone quits - but wouldn't that happen on a TF if you went below required level of players?
Regardless - the general idea here is to stimulate a discussion about using powers more widely to enhance the hero experience - and to a degree the team experience as well.
I'm sure something can be done here.
Any more thoughts?
Some people solo TFs...
As others have said, this would have to be either optional to completing the mission, or a Temp means would have to be be provided for those without the right powers. Like the extinguisher provided for the burning building in Steel for people who don't have Cold powers. Or the CoV mission where you are given jetpacks at the Skyraider base. Something like that I could get behind.
Having different kinds of things to do in missions would be nice. Having missions somebody categorically couldn't do because of their power choices wouldn't, and in fact would be pretty much opposite to what CoH is about. Heck, pretty soon being a bad-guy won't stop you doing good-guy missions! -

Quote:I can understand all the other arguments here, and after consideration I am in favour of SS for Scrappers. It's just this one thing I can't get my head around...
where a scrapper would come to it's senses and leave -
I won't be taking any time off right after GR launches...because I already have the entire week off from the 23rd.

Very much agreed. Especially if they also add:

Some of us have refined drinking habits -
Union is generally considered to have a slightly larger population than Defiant, although the difference is not huge. Both communities are friendly and both are active, although you will want to join the global channels for whichever server you pick to really find most of the action.
Union is somewhat the unofficial RP server, although you will also find RP on Defiant and lots of not-RP on Union.
Personally, I have alts on both, and I'd recommend trying them both to see which one you end up preferring. (If you don't enjoy both, that is))

Union has been having troubles all day, with mapservers, load times, TI being inaccessible, among other things. I got in fine earlier, logged out to alt....now can't get back in.
