  1. I've been playing (on and off) since US beta and I still do most of them
  2. Prox has brought you up to date on the new rule of FNFC I hope? The one that says the DJ has to periodically just stand there and let me get a cheap kill
  3. We've had this discussion before:

Freedom and Virtue are anomolies, most US servers are comparable to the UK ones. Peak time numbers on US servers are irrelevant to the majority of EU players, as they don't play at US peak times.

And I personally have very little trouble getting teams, on Defiant, which if you listen to some people is empty.
  4. Kiken was my first 50, and also my first character (from US beta). It took me well over a year to get him to 40, then a few more months to 50. Mainly because of chronic altitis.

As for 'pimping' a character; I just can't be bothered. I'll throw a few sets in if I think of it, and a KO protection on my squishies when they can afford it, but apart from that I generally just slot general IOs. In fact, Kiken is still running mainly on SOs...

    Biographies!

Most of my characters have very detailed backgrounds (for my one 'came from outer space' character I have the whole society she came from worked out) but I tend to keep the in-game bios very short. Basically just a sketch summary of the character.

As for which comes first, most of the time it's the name. But I generally have their 'origin' trickling through my mind as I'm working on the character creator. On occasions where there is a particular power set combo I want to play, I'll still have a basic bio worked out before I start making the character.

I just can't spend hours playing a character that is just a blank.
  6. Thanks, but I was hoping this one would go unnoticed. It's my 'can-no-longer-call-myself-a-thirty-something-th' birthday
  7. Back when I was on the US servers, we had a lot of sub-groups in the Paragons of Justice. One was the Ghost Widow Clones, Dark/Dark Corruptors that not only had a uniform but looked exactly alike in every way.

Well, apart from those of us who didn't read the list properly and ended up with the wrong shoulders until we could get to the Facemaker....
  8. Well, I certainly had fun. And I hardly hit Prox while he wasn't looking at all. Honest.

Very useful info (I didn't knew about #3) and probably some individuals made Avatea totally furious to get her post that as a global cross-section forum announcement.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You also cant use backspace to reply to them, makes it a bit awkward having to type /t name, everytime

    [/ QUOTE ]

Really? I'm sure I've used it the few times I've had contact with them.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yep, pretty sure last time I had a GM help me out with a mission, I replied to them using backspace.

I want them to open up the temple and fort areas in Cimerora - it seems a pity to have such big, unique maps just for the one TF

    [/ QUOTE ]

The 12 task (forces) of hercules ?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Wouldn't that be the coolest thing evar?
Well, it'd be pretty cool anyways.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hmm, would mucking out the stable become the new farming hotspot?

Ok lets say a villain has a hostage and is about to shoot him/her. You being a natural origin hero only have a gun in your hand (in theory of course), now do you shoot and kill the villain to save the hostage's life or not?
If you kill the villain does that make you a hero?
If you dont kill him does that make you a villain for letting him kill an innocent person?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Or, you could use the Rally Vincent technique of shooting his thumb off so he drops the gun...

As for my DB Scrapper, she cuts the tendons of the badguys to render them helpless. No killing, but it hurts enough to hopefully make them reconsider their naughty ways.

It also explains why it takes a lot of dramatic waving around of swords to beat them, rather than one quick stabbity throgh the heart

Oh dear oh dear oh dear. I'm going to have to do a lot of levelling on my numerous alts before I13. Because I anticipate the mission creator taking up huge amounts of my game time

Friday Night Fight Club - It's back! But this time it's twice as big, twice as bad and twice as ugly!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, I have been putting on a little weight, and I'll admit I'm no oil painting, but I don't think it's actually possible for me to get any badder at PvP. Still, as long as Prox is there I can pick up cheap kills while he's doing his links

    [/ QUOTE ]

    But, but, you can't nerf this monday, it's a bank holiday....no work...yay!

    [/ QUOTE ]

My Monday is already nerfed, I have to work. Nerf people who get Bank Holidays off!

Lusca should throw stuff like cars and dockside containers - maybe aim them at the station to encourage Heroes to get rid of her

    [/ QUOTE ]

I have a better idea what lusca could do... with female heroes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Surely only those in Japanese schoolgirl costumes...

But yeah, it would be nice if hey did something to make GMs more interesting. If they aren't going to make them worth killing again, at least make them rampage round the whole zone instead of just hanging in one corner.

    Question

    [ QUOTE ]
We have no assault rifles in the house

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ah, you keep them on the gun rack in your pickup truck then.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
Debt is the force that makes as plan our next move, making things interesting.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not for me it isn't. I never take debt into consideration for anything I do, and never have. In fact I find the trip back from hospital worth avoiding more than debt.
  21. Quite right. Heck, in my US SG we had a Blaster who would get killed deliberately just because he liked the boost from Mutation so much And that was under old debt.

I always used to say 'Debt is natures way of giving you more Inf', but it's hardly worth dying these days.

    We're discussing movie stars

    [/ QUOTE ]

I thought you were discussing Vin Densel?

    [/ QUOTE ]

He stars in movies - we're not debating the quality though

    [/ QUOTE ]

Why not we seem to debating everything else?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ok then - "Quality in Vin Diesel Movies - the Missing Factor?" - discuss.

But a little more seriously, the ad system is at least generating quite a bit of interest, which is good.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I thought Pitch Black was a cracking little film...

Less said about The Chronicles of Riddick the better though

    Up Up and Away!!

Only 10 days? Blast! I was going to ask if I could have your stuff!

    Can I have it anyway?
  24. Also, you have to remember that we see only a small part of the city, the 'bad neighbourhoods', which are infested by gangs and monsters. Ordinary citizens only go to Steel Canyon or Brickstown if they absolutely have to. It's not safe to run a bus service in these areas. And of course nobody would want their kids going to school in a part of town that had Skulls or Freaks running around in it!

I mean, would you hang around the worst ghetto meighbourhoods of, say, New York if you didn't have to?
  25. Most of my heroes are smart enough not to mix business with home life, and so live in the nice parts of Paragon City (those curiously blank parts of the map outside the game zones). Exceptions are:

WildeChild, who has rooms above the Wilde Bounty Agency's PC offices, in Steel Canyon.

And Kiken, who has a modest little place in Brickstown. He likes it when escaped prisoners or 'rogue' Crey try to mug him when he's not in costume

    As for villains:

Major Trauma is hardly going to be so lapse in security as to tell you where his HQ is...

Tinker Belle lives in a submarine ('borrowed' from Arachnos) that cruises round the Isles. She sleeps in a hammock, to make extra workshop room.

And Velveteen sleeps wherever she wants, via the simple and cheap method of mind controlling the previous inhabitants into becoming her servants for as long as she stays.
