I, for one, welcome our new Rikti Overlords.
-
I write a list of my characters, by server, on a piece of paper. Then just update their level.
Just so I know what I have where in case something in particular would suit a team, without having to go to the log-in screen to find out. -
I believe that in civilian use it has also picked up a following with those who like to hunt with handguns.
-
As it's panto season here in the UK...
They're behind you! -
Probably not. I have enough other things to do that PvP wouldn't be of much interest no matter how 'fixed' it was. In CoH, it just seems pointless, there's nothing PvP gives me that I need to play the game. It's tucked out of the way where I don't have to see it, which is good, as having no PvP was one of the main draws of CoH for me when it was first being made.
I've nothing against PvP itself, certainly not in games where it's the main point. I even used to enjoy the old 'Friday Night Fight Club' that one of the radio stations held on the Euro servers. (But that was a social event that just happened to have PvP occur occasionally.) And I might actually enter a PvP zone if it was part of some kind of RP event. But to go to one just to look for people to fight? Highly unlikely. -
Quote:Well, I suppose it would depend on exactly how it was set up. You could go with that cheesiest of comic-book plots, the Cosmic Being putting the hero/villain through a test. Find out if you are truly worthy, or merely coasting on your powers. Heck, DJ Zero does it just so he can save money on bouncers...And how would you explain our characters suddenly losing powers when a lot of mine, for instance, wouldn't make any sense whatsoever to be able to "lose" their powers? And I'm not talking "they're too strong" or anything. I mean, if they did somehow lose their powers, they'd cease to exist altogether.
In fact, this notion that a character can lose his non-human powers but retain his human ones, despite that character not BEING human or using these powers for basic locomotion, is one that never sat well with me. -
I'll add to this, that my Rad/Rad has been leveled almost entirely solo. My tactic is to basically 'herd' the mob around the anchor, so everyone is nicely debuffed. Doing that, Ranged defence would be far more useful than Melee, as it's only stragglers outside the debuff zone you need to worry about.

The only thing I'd like to see added to Pocket D is access to the MA system. In a room off to one side, like the Arena terminals. So we can have mixed team Arc fun.
Because having one in RWZ is just silly. -
I don't gave to worry about my hero name being taken. Because nobody else can take it.
-
If this happened, the person in question should be banned immediately.
For playing a mime. -
I've never managed to do that...
But I have managed to get Flower Knight killed. Does that count towards a booby prize? -
The one thing I found amusing about the whole incident was the person in questions attitude that RPers have no life...yet he had hours to waste TPing around the chalet in small hops
I tell a lie, there were two things. Pro-tip; if you are going to try justifying your griefing by thinly disguising it as RP, don't say in Local "I'm trying to see what it takes to get banned" -
Not even just states. Most large companies have their own share of factionalism and in-fighting over resources. As do universities. And even organisations such as Greenpeace. It's just a sad fact of humanity that, if you put enough of us together, there will be some that will immediately start looking to advance their own position at the expense of others. And that attitude is often encouraged by those at the top, especially in the case of companies.

I love CoH because it gives me so much, yet asks so little from me in return.

I just want to jump in say that most of the Euro players I spoke with last night thought the free transfers are a wonderful thing. I certainly have a few alts I'd like to move from Defiant to Union (where I RP) with a few going the other way (that I wouldn't RP) to make room.
So, you know, some of us appreciate it when people do nice things for us. -
I'm Nemesis. And so is my wife.

Willy Wheeler.
Because this time I'm gonna hit the big time! I just know it... -
Quote:You know, the badges in PVP zones, and shivans and nukes aren't all necessary things you MUST have to play in PVE. You can play PVE all the way through quite successfully without getting any of those things, ever. They're not a requirement.
If you enter a PVP zone, you're consenting to PVP. By being there. You're warned in about 3 different ways that yes, you can be attacked by other players in the zone, and if you don't want to be attacked, please leave the zone. Yet you stay and complain about PVP when you just want your shivans.
You get no sympathy. If you go to a PVP zone, you can get attacked. You're consenting to being attacked by being in the zone, but implicitly and explicitly. If you don't want to be attacked DON'T GO INTO THE ZONE. It really is that easy.
Sure, by entering a PvP zone I acknowledge and give my assent to the fact that I can get attacked. I don't agree that I have to actually stand there and fight if it happens, which is the original argument. If I go to a PvP zone just to get the temp powers, that's all I want, I'm not interested in fighting. If you do want to fight me, but you aren't good enough to beat me before I run away...tough. -

Well, first you have to gather the three Spiritual Stones, so that you can enter the Sacred Realm...
-
I've only recently started a second account, for a variety of reasons, but mostly:
Because I wanted to bring other characters to RP and still have my established character there.
Because there are some alt ideas I don't want to play until they reach a certain level, so I can level pact with myself and forget about them until then. (Yes, I'm looking at you, VEATs.)
Because at some point in the New Year I plan on making a dynamic duo and trying my hand at dual-boxing them to 50. -
You can all relax. Nobody needs to worry about Kris 'Crusher' Kringle again, thanks to The Main Man.

Even though he's been with me since the very start of the game, I think I'd be willing to offer up Kiken's demise in a glorious blaze of Scrapperlock. Although I have this sneaking feeling his heroic last words would be "stupid autorun..."
