Now, keep in mind that rewards are not guaranteed, even with higher settings. I've run multiple (as in 12 in a row) RWZ missions from Borea with "+2 level, count as 8 heroes, yes I want Bosses" (I can't quite handle +4 level on my tanker yet), and those Rikti have been darn stingy with recipes and salvage drops.
You have more chances to get drops, but you can still have dry spells. -
You cannot slot Winter's Gift in Swift. Winter's Gift is a Universal Travel Enhancement set, and Swift cannot slot that set (or any other, for that matter).
The "best" way to increase your movement speed while Rooted is to find Enhancement sets that you can slot that will up your running speed in the set bonuses.
Aegis (Resist Damage set) two-piece bonus is a 5% run speed boost.
Regenerative Tissue (Healing set) two-piece bonus is a 4% run speed boost.
And then, of course, there's Gift of the Ancients +7.5% run speed/Defense which always seems to be a popular choice with Stone Armor tankers. -
Quote:The problem is, unless you allow at least one character from each side to have permission to build in the base, you're either going to have a group that cannot have telepads to one side or the other.Yes THOSE groups would not allow that type of action. But we're a video game based on comic lore, not a game constricted by their rules. My villain group will be allowing all hero ATs as I'm not going for RP value. Name off 50 more comic teams who wouldn't allow it, it wont make a difference.
I never said it would happen, I just said this is what I want. In that, what I posted does make sense. Let each group decide what they want. If your groups do not want to allow cross faction, nobody is forcing you. I just want it as an option.
Heck, I don't even know if the current base code would allow for telepads to both sides. If it doesn't.... well.... (yes, I know there are more to bases then just the telepads. But if the code for bases doesn't currently allow for mixed faction groups, then it would have to be added for Going Rogue.... and God only knows how much other stuff the Devs already have on their plate for the expansion.)
Right now, the devs have put in very limited circumstances in which heroes and villains can work together. Rikti War Zone, the Winter Event "Rescue Baby New Year" mission, and the Imperious Task Force. I don't see them adding a whole ton more. (And yes, I consider switching sides via GR to be different then a cooperative mission/TF) -
Quote:That.... doesn't make sense.Wouldn't it just be easier to make SGs neutral and both heroes and villains can join? Let the individual groups decide how they want to run their ranks.
Look, would the Fantastic Four just let Doctor Doom walk around their base if he promised not to break anything? No. Would the Avengers invite Doctor Octopus to join if he hasn't redeemed himself? No.
Cross-faction SGs/VGs aren't happening. Trust me. -
*nod* If you're constantly knocking them down they don't summon as well. I had a tendency to lead in with Shield Charge just to keep them from summoning.

To the best of my knowledge, you cannot "friend" (use the /friend command) on a cross-faction character. You should be able to find out their global handle by using /get_global_name which will return a name prefaced with an @ symbol. (So, for example, @Example_Man)
You should then be able to use /gfriend @Example_Man to add them to your Global Friends list. That, unfortunately, is the only way to know when they're on, to the best of my knowledge. -
Quote:About the only way I could see it is if the vehicle "powers" were exclusive.Vehicles most likely aren't going to happen either.
I kinda doubt BaBs is going to do another animation for every single power just to give us vehicles.
Meaning that if you were riding in your motorcycle, you couldn't attack/buff/debuff/activate powers. At all. You would have to de-toggle the motorcycle power to do anything else. -
Quote:Exactly. The Rikti followed the dimensional traces (or whatever) back to Primal Earth because they erroneously thought the Freedom Phalanx had attacked them first.Yes, Primal Earth Nemesis created automaton clones of various Primal Earth heroes and sent them to attack Rikti Earth. The Rikti Wars are the result of the Rikti retaliating to what they believed was an invasion of their dimension.
To all appearances for everyone else on Earth (save Nemesis), the Rikti just attacked Primal Earth "for no reason".
There is at least one Traditionalist Rikti who now thinks (wrongly) that it may have been the Praetorians who attacked Rikti Earth, framing Primal Earth for the attack, and there is at least one Rikti (Hro'Dtohz) who knows that it was really Nemesis who started the whole thing, but Hro'Dtohz is hiding the truth from his soldiers. -
Man, I wish we had access to the various inflected letters... I also wish we could have more then one period in our names. No, I'm not suggesting a character named ".....", but it would be nice to have a character name name that strongly suggests an acronym. (Say, like K.R.O.N.O.S.)

Oh, they know about Praetorian Earth now, just probably not when they made their original invasion plans. (Although even if they did, the dimensional trail from the invaders led back to Primal Earth anyway.)
-
Although there is a story arc where a Rikti mentions that he (she?) now believes that the invasion of Rikti Earth was done by Praetorians, rather then heroes from Primal Earth. (Of course, we all know the truth.)

Sounds like complete garbage.
Edit: Just for giggles, I went and checked the Shield Customization page, and there's nothing new there, so yeah... it's garbage. -
No, WE cannot nerf AE again. The Devs might. They might not.
I rather suspect most of them are busy working on Going Rogue anyway. -
Excuse me, but you aren't talking ill of Norton the First, by the grace of God Emperor of these United States and Protector of Mexico, ARE YOU?

What you can do is this:
When you're editting styles, there is an option to flip from room to room. (In one of the edit style windows, there are left and right arrows that take you from room to room.)
Start in the room that already has the style you want, and flip to the room that you want to match it to. It should be relatively simple to match the floors, ceiling and walls... because, well, there's not that many different styles.
Lighting colors are a little harder, but not significantly so. Just note the place on the light bars in the first room, and match them in the second room. This may take you a few tries, but it can be done. (One easy way is to use sticky notes or "white out tape" on your monitor to "block off" where the color placements are. And yes, the "white out tape" peels right back off.)
I did this the other day in my tiny base to get the brickwork to all be the same color, so it can be done. -

Oh yeah, it's not a great choice of powers or slotting unless you really want to stock up on Ranged and AOE defense. If you were planning on taking a couple powers from Teleport or Leaping or Flight anyway, then slotting the appropriate powers in those pools with Universal Travel isn't a bad idea, but I couldn't see myself ever taking them specfically for those IO sets. I take those powers to get around faster.
-
Quote:.....Yes, BotZ and WG both have extremely good set bonuses, especially considering the effect per slot. With the various Sprint powers barred from taking Universal Travel sets, the only way you can stack the BotZ/WG set bonuses is by using up all your power pools on travel, not to mention all those power picks. And even then, you don't hit the 5-bonus cap.
Um, all the Teleport powers can slot Universal Travel (according to the wiki), and then you just need, say, Hover or Combat Jumping. That's five. -
crap, that reminds me, I have to write a history for my latest character, Brass Reactor.

Quote:The defense that is used is based entirely upon the attack, not the distance between the attacker and target. In other words, an attack that targets ranged defense will always target ranged defense, regardless of whether the attacked is 60 feet away or in your face.I'm curious what defines which defense will be used by my build/toon when I'm being attacked in both PvE and PvP.
Is the distance the foe is from me when they attack me or is it the power they use? For example, if I am shot at with flares from 3 ft away, will my melee defense be responsible for protecting me, since the foe is in melee range, or is it still my ranged defensive numbers that protect me?
Thanks in advance. -
Yeah, but unless you want/need a lot of Slow Resistance or Knockback protection, you'd have to spend some slots to get the set bonuses. Plus, I can't recall the last time I even saw the Knockback Resistance piece from "Blessing of the Zephyr" on the AH. (With my luck, there's one up there right now, and I'm stuck at work.)
-
Well, for all we know, doing all the Resistance missions could only get you as far as "vigilante", and doing all the Loyalist missions could only get you as far as "rogue".
-
Quote:Aha! Trick question!1. I'd settle for getting that white floor tilw next to the safe reskinned with a top and bottom.
2. Because copper has more salvage value when you recycle it silly. Steel is cheap, and often is left to rust.
You see, there's also the large copper lab tank and the large steel lab tank which cost exactly the same amount of prestige (1000), but then, to confuse things even further, there's the small steel lab tank (5000 prestige) and the small copper lab tank (100 prestige). I think someone got loopy with the amounts of Prestige some of these decorative items cost....
And yeah, reskinning the floor tile would solve some problems, but I wouldn't mind seeing it in a couple other shapes and sizes if they did that. -
The (probably) quickest way to play a Brute hero-side when GR comes out would be to start as a Praetorian, and take missions that put you on the side of the Resistance. (Praetorian characters who side with the Resistance end up on the hero-side of things; those who side with the Loyalists end up on the villain-side of things.)
