Going Rogue Character?

I have never played villains because I would just rather be a hero.
I have always wanted to try a Brute because of the fury machanic but unfortunately it's only for villains.

My question is...do I have to wait for GR to come out before I can create a villain and then bring him blue side...or can I create and start playing the Brute right now and switch him when GR comes out?

Any toon can switch sides at any lvl from what I understand. The difference is that if you wait til GR comes out you can start in a different area.

Global @radubadu
Usually playing one of the following toons blueside on Virtue:
Cadler 50 WP/SS tanker
Radubadu 46 Fire/Fire blaster
Hell Runner 35 Fire/Fire brute

Both.

There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.

Another question...what will the indication that I "switched sides" be?
Just the fact that I'm a Brute?
Conceptually I would be playing this character as if they have been good the whole time.

That much, we don't know. As you said, the SMASHtasticness of the character may be a slight give-away.

So when GR comes out I can create a Brute and start in Galaxy City right away?

As of now? No, you can roll a Brute and start as a Villain or a Praetorian. Your Praetorian Brute can go to Galaxy City.

We really don't know much else.

The (probably) quickest way to play a Brute hero-side when GR comes out would be to start as a Praetorian, and take missions that put you on the side of the Resistance. (Praetorian characters who side with the Resistance end up on the hero-side of things; those who side with the Loyalists end up on the villain-side of things.)

Though we still don't know anything, I have to admit I'm kind of disappointed with the whole "LOYALIST=VILLAIN," "RESISTANCE=HERO" dynamic. It kinda detracts from the whole POINT of "blurred loyalties."

Well, for all we know, doing all the Resistance missions could only get you as far as "vigilante", and doing all the Loyalist missions could only get you as far as "rogue".

Except that is exactly what I'm getting at. What if my hero really feels that Cole is the last best hope for humanity. Is it possible to be a Loyalist and a Hero? What if my villain just wants to break the status quo? Couldn't he be a villain and join the Resistance?

I hope we get enough wiggle-room that nothing feels forced.

Exactly. Why would a villain automatically be for Cole? This makes it seem as though Recluse is on Cole's side which I am fairly confident he is not. Recluse is on Recluse's side.

What thread should I go to so that I can read up on everything we know about Going Rogue.

Well my take on it...stopping Cole from invading Prime Earth sounds like heroic. Helping Cole invade Prime Earth sounds villianous.

That said, helping Cole (and thusly the government), enforce the laws of the land (of Praetorian Earth) sounds heroic. And trying to fight the laws through non legal means would equal Villianous.

After all, the resistance isn't exactly following the laws. They're breaking them. Thusly, that would make you a villain on that Earth...while on Prime Earth, you'd seem more like a hero.

That has everything we know.

According to that topic, when you start in Pretoria, you can align with either loyalists or resistance, but when you go to Primal Earth you are faced with another decision of Villain or Hero. Resistance/loyalist has no bearing on whether you end up in the isles or the city.

Is Cole invading Primal Earth? And I don't mean the existing content, since everything is being rewritten. And if he is, why? Is it to save the last few humans left, on a planet overrun by the Devouring Earth? Then wouldn't it be advantageous for everyone to help him? Wouldn't that be "the right thing to do?"

But villains oppose the Rikti for trying to take over so they would also oppose Cole unless there is something in it for them.
