  1. Personally, I don't regularly play Tankers. I have all of two, one at 50, the other stalled at 17. In general, I see them as being just as team-centric as a Defender or a Blaster. They aren't designed to be the ones doing all the damage, but they can still dish it out as necessary. What would benefit them, if they decided that what a tanker really needs is damage, is some manner of minor damage on Gauntlet. It would help to increase the damage a Tanker is doing in general, while not stepping on the Buffer/Debuffers toes too much.

Or, as an alternative, put a small -Res on all Tanker taunt abilities, which would stack with Bruising. It would also give them some incentive to do the job of drawing attention, and make the Taunt abilities useful in solo play.
  2. All of my characters of any note are on Justice.

Walking Wasteland (Namecamped until either Radiation Armor/Melee, or Bio Mass Armor, haven't decided yet)

    Regal Sunbird (Staff/SR Scrapper)

    Masked Shrike (Sonic/Dark Defender)

    Forever Zero (Sonic/Dark Corruptor)

Riot Breaker (Currently Beam Rifle/Sonic Corr, might reroll)

Kurt Erif (Namecamp for Water Blast. Spell the name backwards)

    Brodin All-Father (Staff/WP Brute)

Alhambra (Fire/Fire Scrapper, might reroll him)

    Megaton Avalanche (Titan/Stone Brute)

    Cabracan (Earth/Sonic Controller; Mountain-stomper)

    Belun (Peacebringer)

    Zernebog (Warshade)

Yeah, I got some good ones

I know he comes back, but I thought it would've been funnier to have him go out this time with an even 30. I suppose an even 28 is still even

I was kinda hoping they'd manage to get two more Owned Counts in before this. Send him off on an even 30
  6. Y'know, if they just gave all of these large robotic entities a short range teleport, or just a teleport in general, it would assuage a lot of concerns about how they managed to get a War Walker into my cubicle at work.
  7. It's Issue 23. It's been in beta for a week, ample time to get everything right *sagenod*
  8. It occurs to me that a few of my Tech and Natural-type characters could also classify as Mutants (one Science guy also). My AR/Dev Blaster is a wizard with machinery, because she has a mutant ability that allows her to semi-telepathically communicate with the machinery. This also enables her to fire any sort of firearm with pinpoint accuracy (Even with Full Auto - Those holes may SEEM random, but she knew where each one would end up well before she unloaded )

Science guy accidentally ate food that had been infused with Thorium in the aftermath of the Rikti War. And lived to tell about it. He is aptly named Atomic No. 90

I am just as behind this idea as I was the original.
  10. I am 197.83% behind this idea. My SoA is currently using a gun so small it hardly seems like it could carry the munitions it unleashes. Of course, if they did give us this, they'd have to change where the muzzle flash shows up. Right now, for the longest Arachnos rifle, the muzzle flash shows up squarely in the middle of the gun (and if you change costumes, the grenades get lobbed from a spot four feet to the right of you)
  11. Hey, if you're going to be there anyway, why not direct him to my little suggestion here?

That in mind, I had another thought. Why not have computer terminals that vent coolant directly onto the reactor, rather than the temp power (which I always end up throwing at my allies anyway)? As a catch, each time you do this it spawns the next wave. This would be good for people looking for a challenge, who choose then to vent the entire thing at once (logic and nuclear physics be damned), thereby spawning all three AVs and 6 extra groups of enemies to fight, without the benefit of being able to heal the reactor (which is kinda what is already happening, since the temp power is broken and doesn't actually heal anything).
  12. I can't really think of a proper way to be ridiculously wordy as I normally would be when making a suggestion thread. I'm just going to throw this out there.

Last mission of the trials takes 30 minutes, minimum. I had an idea for how to make it go faster - Reduce the number of waves from whatever it currently is to 3. Each one of those waves is accompanied by an Archvillain, relevant to the group being fought, breaking down thusly:

    Respec 1:
Wave 1 - Captain Stone + One group of Sky Raiders
Wave 2 - Captain Castillo + Two groups of Sky Raiders
Wave 3 - Colonel Duray + Three groups of Sky Raiders

    Respec 2:
    Wave 1 - Clamor + Freaks
    Wave 2 - Bile + Two groups
    Wave 3 - Dreck + Three groups

    Respec 3:
    Wave 1 - Dra'Gon + Rikti
    Wave 2 - Hro'Dtohz (or an AV Magus/Priest) + Two groups
Wave 3 - Honoree or Ukon + Three groups

Each new wave would be triggered by the defeat of the wave's AV, with the extra groups of enemies appearing at the doors as normal. This would serve to make the trials a bit more interesting and a LOT faster than they currently are.

Thoughts/Concerns regarding this idea would be appreciated. Refinements and changes are welcome with proper reasoning. As always, if you're just going to /jranger the idea, don't bother posting. If you ignore the thread, it goes away faster

Admittedly, Magic is my most used, with a whopping 28 out of 45 characters on Justice using that origin.

My least used is Mutation. Couldn't quite place why, really. It has all of one representative, my TW/Stone Brute, Megaton Avalanche.

Isn't it obvious? To confuse people who already say that the sets need differentiating animations (which they totally do)

That's actually the name of a D&D multiclass build I was working on for a while (Base: Hexblade, multi's into Executioner)

Cool arc IMO, the floating ship map was great. I swam over and ran/jumped up the ships to the top even though I have Fly.
Admittedly, I did something very similar. After Recluse finished his little thing about how I was most suited for the job, I actually flew over to the bottom ship, landed, and ran up. I have to imagine what they were saying back at the ship.

"Wait, didn't he just fly over there... Why did he land?"

"Maybe the field mucks with his flight?"

*30 seconds later, accidentally jump off the back of a ship into nothing, turn on Fly and get back on*

"Okay, so that theory is shot. What the hell is he doing?"

"We could ask him when he gets back..."

"No, that would just be awkward. Let's just... Shh! Here he comes! And... he's flying back."
  19. I've been giving this some thought. DJ Zero is responsible for all of the nerfs leading into City of Villains. Think of it thusly - Prometheus states that Ascending draws powers away from the overall potential of a race. Paragon Dance Party (Club Zero) popped up early on, and then we had two or three straight issues of severe nerfs, culminating in Issue 5's Global Defense nerf, which hit not only players but NPCs as well (Defenses dropped to 3/5 their prior value, enemy ToHit chance took a slight nosedive). Then Enhancement Diversification hit, again lowering the overall direct power of heroes.

What should happen to show up shortly thereafter? Pocket D, and DJ Zero himself, the jerk who HAD to go and Ascend and, in so doing, make us all weaker (in the short term, admittedly we've kinda come out ahead in the long run )
  20. Quick question - Why is everyone saying that Wade isn't using any of the powers he stole? When I fought him on my SS/DA Brute, I noticed that every attack he used that wasn't the Brute Blast was a Psychic attack of some description. No, he didn't appear to use any sort of lightning or super strength attacks, but it seems kinda unreasonable for him to swoop down to slug you when that presents his OWN face for convenient slugging

VIP Summon creates an aspect. That is, it looks like a Shadow Shard Reflection. Also, unless you're a hero, you can't summon the Statesman echo.

Also, there have been a few times when I've wanted to write in my own dialogue. Such as any time someone tried to coerce my SS/DA Brute by magical or psychic means. Dude is an arcane construct built to emulate a human body with superhuman strength and speed, and the ability to bind the souls of the dead into a barrier of shadows that protects him from harm (From a meta standpoint, he also has 90% Psychic resistance). He's a walking fortress, what makes you think he's going to go along with you (Hardcase) for any reason other than because it amuses him at this juncture?

And, for reasons that were entirely his own, he absolutely despised Malaise. Given the option, he totally would've slugged the colorful bugger at the end of WWD4, but for the purposes of the game's story, I can accept that this isn't really an option

Also, he's kinda hardwired to take orders from those of Mu descent, but he can overcome that when he feels that their agenda might run counter to his own. Of course, as a villain they generally don't run counter to his own agenda, because their plans tend to involve him punching dudes, and he's okay with that. It's kinda his thing

    Your DXP Plans

Got my Dark/Fire Dom (Chaotic Flare) from level 8 to 41.

Got my StJ/Inv Brute (Rex Douglass) from 26 to 1... Wait... (Rerolled at Axe, didn't get back to him )

Sonic/Dark Corr (Forever Zero) went from 38 to 40.

Titan/Stone Brute (Megaton Avalanche) from 1 to 16

Didn't get around to playing my Peacebringer (Belun), who I wanted to get from 35 to at least Light Form.

Edit: Almost forgot, my Thugs/Traps MM (Kadsworth) from 38 to 42.
  24. This gives me time to build up a buffer of points so that I can buy Staff Fighting when it hits. I have two characters waiting on it, although I'd rather like to have a medieval European spear (of the simplistic diamond-headed variety) as an option for one of them - BRODIN ALL-FATHER! A frat boy who found Gungnir, the spear of Odin, while out on a road trip with his frat, and in so doing learned that he acquired the god's powers. On learning this, he turned and spake thusly to his friends - "Odin All-Father? More like BRODIN All-Father, amirite?" And so, on that day, a new god was born. It is too bad, then, that this godling is a bit of a jerk

Also, totally haven't picked a secondary to go with it yet, I just felt that this character needed to be.
  25. I'm remarkably meh about Beast Mastery. Not because it isn't an interesting set, because it is. I've just never been able to play Masterminds (Mine is level 42, and I started him back when Thugs went live). So yeah, this weeks store item isn't useful to me, but that's fine because I'm sure others will enjoy it
