    1. Well Duh! If you are hiding from searches, people can't see you to invite. If you are /hidden from searches and come here complaining because no one ever invites you to team, you will get laughed at, deservedly. (Nothing wrong with hiding, but if you do, don't complain about the results.)

    2. My global isn't known anywhere as a team player. Some folks may recognize it from various MA things, but that has nothing to do with teaming. And I am constantly getting tells and blind invites to team. (See #1. I have never hidden any of my characters.) And it isn't because of my renown as a great team player, because I very seldom team. Occasional MS Raids or zone invasions is about all.

    3. Globals that do help you get a team are the Global channels for the server you are on. The game could use a better explanation of how to search for global channels, then putting them on their own tab for ease of use. If you know about those channels and how to use them, and don't, you are heading for the same results as #1 again.

Seriously, I am not a teaming player. (Almost said team player, but that is only true on one of my Brutes. ) In over 5 years of this game, I have soloed probably 95% of the time. And most of the time, when I did team, it was with SG members to do the TFs or handle AVs.

Aside from helping out a newbie SG member before I16, the only time I can remember forming a team was for a Mothership Raid last year. I have alts of all kinds of level ranges on both sides of all the servers. I very seldom play an alt without getting a team invite.
  2. Thanks for the review Lazarus. You are right that the connection to the other arcs is fairly weak, but that was deliberate. (And it was originally much weaker, which was a big mistake some other reviews and in game feedback helped get me past.) The idea is if you have played the first arc, you find out that the Future Skulls are active in the present, with major plans, and will have to be dealt with. But if you have not played the first arc, you get a glimpse into the existance of an offshoot of an established gang that is playing for major stakes.

Trying to balance plot progression for the over all story with keeping the interest of players that have not done the first arc is hard. As I said, I originally went too far (the MacGuffin didn't disappear until the 4th mission and no Future Skulls at all until the 5th) but the changes improved the story and having to make them improved the writing, IMO. I am open to making more changes, but I don't want to go too far the other way and tie this arc too closely to the first one.
  3. Thanks for the review of Future's End. Glad you all liked it. Yes, you were correct, the name Seeker was used in a couple of different places in the arcs, and yes there was a reason for it. I am hoping to answer some of the questions you noticed were not answered in my next arc. No Future Skulls (They were originally supposed to be in one arc, then part of the second. They got pushy. ) but some familiar winged characters should show up. Unless some other group gets pushy this time.

I almost forgot. I agree that the last mission really needs a couple of spawn points in the lobby. That is one change I hope they eventually make on that map. It would really had to the immersion.

I actually see it used quite often, on different servers. Mostly Virtue, but also on Guardian and Justice that I can remember off hand. I haven't been on Freedom for quite a while, so I don't know if it is used there. And I personally use it on every server I play on to advertise my arcs.

You want to speak to people about AE, you, uh... if you are new to the game, would you even KNOW an AE channel exists?

The way I see it, if you advertise an LFT Channel's existence, it alraedy comes as part of the tabs for new toons, and there was a button in the chatbox that instantly switches you to the LFT Channel, people would use it.

Long story short, th AE channel failed because most people just didn't know it existed in the first place. Make the LFT Channel part of the initial set, and people might just use it.
This. I have a rather large collection of tabs, windows and channels on my characters (And I thank the Devs every time I create a new alt and don't have to replicate the set up anymore.) but most people probably have the 3 tabs in the lower left hand corner they started with. And the Architect Chat channel isn't on any of those tabs.

It was mentioned in the GMOTD when it was added, but how many people read that? So you have a server wide channel devoted to the AE, for teaming, arc advertising, and discussion, but most people don't know about it. Frankly, I have been surprised it is used as much as it is.

I think the biggest QOL change that could be made right now, is for them to fix the chat interface. Fix the Help channel so that it really works if you use Active and people don't have to know to type in /hc. And add in a button for the Architect channel and have it added automatically to people's windows.

That is exactly what it does. Whichever server you last played on is listed first, then they are in descending order of load, with the heaviest load at the bottom. If you don't play on Virtue or Freedom, they are always the bottom 2, although not always in the same order there. The upper ones change around a lot. If you are like me and have alts on all the servers, you never know what you will see when you log in.
  6. I have three low level arcs. I tried to make them a true trilogy, each part telling its own story. No EB/AVs in any of the missions. The first one has quite a few plays already, but I am always happy to hear feedback. And I know that people have successfully ran it at levels 1-5, although the last mission can be a pain that low.

    Hyperbole: A strong overstatement, exageration.

Fine you aren't an english whiz, Mmmk, but using words that you don't know what they mean is generally bad.

The previous post was, more or less, literal, rational and not quite the overstatement.
Maybe the hyperbole comes in because of the way you stated your thesis:
[QUOTE=Not_Epsilon;2283131]The devs broke a lot of things with their new nerf hammer that they hit MA with.

First, we don't actually know what caused or is causing the various bugs. It could be the custom creature changes, but it could also be caused by the power changes and the fact the custom creatures don't use them. That is just a fact of life with a large and much modified piece of software. A small change over here, can cause havoc over there, despite there being no direct connection between the two.

Leaving aside the repetition of your first sentence in the first part of this one, yelling HORRIBLE is not a reasoned response. It is in fact, your opinion, which you are quite entitled to, and within reason, entitled to share on these forums. My own opinion is that they are not a good change, especially the xp for Standard/Standard customs. And I have stated that. But I am not yelling about it, especially in a thread devoted to answering someone's question about something else.

Finally, the bolded part, is in fact completely wrong. As shown by this post from Horatio, they made the change to the present system (From the prior incarnation which was much worse and could reasonably have been described as horrible if it had went live.) after thinking about (and testing) those prior changes. They would have preferred fixing everything, but someone decided they really needed to get I16 out in September rather than November sometime. Hence the lack of enough testing.

So, if you want to be seen as making a rational, reasoned statement, don't yell about it, don't insert it into a conversation that it is only peripherally related to, and don't make it factually incorrect. Also, something can not be "more or less, literal" since literal is a binary state. It either is literal or it isn't.
  8. I don't know which set you are using, but Build Up is sometimes a Standard level power (which is not smart, but happens. ) so you might want to check that and be sure. MoG is definitely not the problem though. Or it could be you are the proud owner of a shiny new bug, lucky you.
  9. If you use the Custom Powers setting, you need to include all of the powers that are on the Standard setting or you get no XP. If you give them all of the powers available but leave off the range attack they have at Standard setting, the mob is worth 0 xp. This is a stopgap measure that they are planning on changing when they get a more robust method worked out.

  11. Well, my latest is Looking for Feedback on the COH Mission Review site, so here is something you can try Glazius.

  12. Well, I have looked at my latest arc and the current round of MA bugs don't seem to be doing any major damage to it (there is a small issue but I don't think it will even be noticed by players), so I would appreciate a run through if you would LJ.

One SGmate went through and pointed out typos (So there should only be a few hundred left. ), and I didn't get any feedback from the other run through, so it will be nice to get a thorough going over, or even a quick run.

Justaris answered most of your points better than I could, but I do want to ask one thing here. If they really would "enjoy a more populated experience" why don't they do something radical like, play on Virtue or Freedom? There they go! Lots more population!
  14. As I have been working through my alts, switching Day Jobs and updating power looks, I have been getting a steady stream of team invites. On all the servers. I logged onto a controller on Pinnacle the other day and got 2 invites in less then 6 minutes. The first one before I finished logging in.

I haven't received 100s, or even 10s of invites a night, but I have been getting them and that is without looking at all.
  15. That bug has been in the system for a while. First you need to damage the guard of the object, then they should be able to target the destructible object normally. And yes that means if you do not set any guards around the object, it can't be destroyed.
  16. Worst part is, it wouldn't remove all of the Norton's stuff from the machine. They are pretty notorious for leaving stuff behind when uninstalling. I ended up going through my registry by hand once, removing everything from them I could find, because it wouldn't allow me to install something else. The program was gone, but it left behind a registry entry that said it was still installed.

    New Dev Choices?

Maybe part of the problem is no one is marking their arcs as Final. According to the help on that part of the interface, only arcs marked Final will be considered for Dev's Choice, but that is the only place it is mentioned. I know I haven't marked any mine that way, even the one with 280+ runs and 4 stars. And I know about that requirement.

This is for XP, but there should be something like it for Vista. Go into Control Panel, find Add or Remove Programs, start it up, then search for anything from Norton or Symantec on the list. For every single one of them, click Remove. Then find Avast or AVG or one of the other free anti-virus programs that is good.

    Any point?

If you have a complete group, i.e., minions, Lts, bosses, Xp is only reduced to 75% for custom critters at Standard/Standard power settings. Any mobs from regular groups in your missions still give full xp.
  20. I am sure a lot of players have. My best is +2/x8/bosses/no AVs. I will probably try bumping the level range a bit more, but tanking is not suited well to taking out AVs solo. Not as an Inv/SS anyway.
  21. Not long after they stuck Icon in the game, a couple of SG mates and I decided to go open our costume slots. We were teamed and all went in and got the Tsoo mission at once. We went outside and got swarmed. When it was over, we went back inside, we had completed the mission just off of the ambushes.

Personally, I like it when there is some substance to the ambushes. Especially when I am on my main. 2 or 4 mobs are not a threat to an Inv tank after the first 10 levels.

Somehow, I don't think the 5th were going to arrest them, so it would probably be in the Council's best interest to run toward you.
  23. You have the option on the MA UI to "Save locally and continue editing". If you hit that one, it prompts you for a file name, then saves the file and you keep editing, but no changes will be made to the online version. I use that button when I have finished updating a published work, so I can keep the latest version on my local machine.

There is no option that allows you to save a local version and continue to edit the live version for republishing. You either make all your edits and re-publish, leaving the editing screen, or save locally and do not make any changes to the published version.

It sounds like she is not even seeing the edit button on the UI, which I believe someone else reported having as a problem in the last few weeks. Found it. Doesn't look like they know exactly why it started working correctly.
  24. Her arcs are not stored locally on your system when you play them. Not any more than the Posi TF is stored on your local system. The only things stored on your local system are things like custom mobs and missions you create.
