Quote:Have you considered using binds for the Popmenus? My I key looks like this for instance:I also saved default window and chat settings. It makes it much easier to set up a new character. I just wish there was a way to load multiple macros at once. For Macros and Popmenus I just copy and paste them from a notepad file.

Quote:The only existing powersets that are going to be unavailable to non-VIPs in I21 are those exclusive to controllers and/or masterminds. And if I am reading this list correctly, if you have already earned the Addicted veteran badge those will be available also.ok my worry was that one or more powers I had selected in his build might not be available to people who are not actively subscribed so that he would be greyed out as a hero I can continue to play as, but it sounds like that will only happen if he is an MM or controller.

You do know they wiped the server yesterday, so if you were not on last night and created some, you don't have any characters on any beta server.

Quote:You missed one. Well, 2 I guess. They had sales where you got 7 months for the price of 6 and 14 months for the price of 12. And those stay active as long as you pay. So for me, it is $10.24 a month, minus the $14.95 = $4.71 a month for playing. You are absolutely correct. I totally forgot about the value of the free server transfers. So from our account billing page this is what we have.
1 month: $14.99* - $14.95 for server transfer and store credit = $.04 monthly sub fee.
3 months: $41.85* (equivalent to $13.95 per month) - $14.95 for server transfer and store credit = NCSoft paying us $1.00 to be a VIP
6 months: $77.70* (equivalent to $12.95 per month) - $14.95 for server transfer and store credit = NCSoft paying us $2.00 to be a VIP
12 months: $143.40* (equivalent to $11.95 per month) - $14.95 for server transfer and store credit = NCSoft paying us $3.00 to be a VIP
My god we are so getting screwed. Do the devs really think we are just going to allow them to pay us to play this game? -
Have you tried /petition in game? A GM probably can't help, but then again, you won't be out anything is you try first thing when you log on at night then go play normally. And tech support out of game may be able to do something about it if you give them a call.

Quote:From the page you didn't read at all. Also whether the coffee was too hot or not, the person knew it would be hot and that spilling it would not be good. The Mcdonalds did not spill it and did not need to do anything differently. They didn't even need to pay as much as they paid.
That person got a huge settlement for their own stupid mistake, and I'm pretty sure it was actually intentional, especially since nobody could prove the coffee was too hot after it spilled, even a burn on the skin could be faked especially if planned ahead of time.
I'm not even going to pull stupid illegal crap like that.
Quote:she had suffered third-degree burns on six percent of her skin and lesser burns over sixteen percent. She remained in the hospital for eight days while she underwent skin grafting. During this period, Liebeck lost 20 pounds (9 kg, nearly 20% of her body weight), reducing her down to 83 pounds (38 kg). Two years of medical treatment followed.
Quote:3rd, As to the McDonalds lawsuit... Yes, it is true that perhaps the lady should not have placed a very hot cup of coffee in between her thighs as she drove away, but the negligence came from placing the coffee in a cup normally used for fountain drinks (ones that are sealed at the bottom with WAX and the bottom fell off). Imagine, if you will, that you are driving away from an eatery with a cup of very hot java lava betwixt your nethers, and all of a sudden YOUR crotch is drenched in +150 degree liquid... Do you find the coffee-stewed lady-parts an acceptable risk for a steaming morning beverage? -

You become an Incarnate and live a very long time, going through the Coming Storm by teaming with an older you and the various people he has chosen, so when you get really old, you go back and write the letters to set yourself up to go along with yourself when you go back in time to gather the various folks like Protean and yourself.

Really? you were able to do that? I tried, but the walls of text and no logical progression from point to point made my eyes glaze over and my head hurt. And I wish I were joking.

Quote:I believe that is kind of where they are hoping the free players come in. A just plays for free, never uses more than his 2 slots and doesn't contribute a cent. B doesn't want to delete his level 50s, so picks up a couple of slots, and a few costume pieces to make the new characters look just right, and wow, the Street Justice powerset looks great, why not pick it up. C realizes this is a really great game, buys a year's subscription. It may be naive, but it seems they could get new/more customers. I am just sayin'. Cause I ain't very likely to give them more than my subscription.
Quote:Slightly off topic, what are we going to do when Freedom goes live and people can't post rants on the forums because they let their accounts lapse? -

Quote:I can read fine. I can even comprehend what I read. But after the 3rd screen of your 10 screen rant, I found it wasn't worth my time. And the system is much better than the current one, where a vet who can't afford to continue their subscription would be able to use absolutely nothing.I'm just saying 2 things to clarify for those who seem to not know how to read.
1) I want to buy "content" not "time", thus stopping subscribing.
This should be a perfectly valid and worthwhile choice for those who choose it. As of the current Freedom info, it is not worthwhile because you lose access to a lot that you "can't even purchase" as it is "subscriber only".
2) I may have been harsh up there, but I think this is a pretty crappy system for any vet who either can't(I have low funds ok, get off my back) or won't out of the principle of paying for unused time(this sucks too).
Learn to read people.(wasn't in reference to you Arcanaville, but you did miss what I said I want(to buy content not time) -
I hate the different names required for that. On a different earth, with a different backstory, having a different name doesn't bother me. But Iron Man doesn't change his name because he has changed into his stealth armor, he has just changed his capabilities, whereas if I want Justice Blues on Virtue to have a suit of armor with blaster capabilities, I do need to come up with a new name. That really kills that method for me.

No, that is not WAI. Do you allow cookies on your browser or have them set to expire when you close it? You may need to talk to the customer support to see if they can figure it out.

Quote:Actually, it is a bug in Mids that they had not gotten fixed yet, but now don't need to with I21 coming. Someone had some good karma coming.actually 60 month can get it at lvl 6 but i suspect that mids is updating for 21 already when you can get it at lvl 4 regardless of vet level

Re-roll? But, but, that would mean deleting a character! I think I have done that maybe 3 times in over 7 years. Why would I start now? I still have lots of space, I haven't even started working on the European servers yet.
Quote:I don't reroll characters.
Ok, I do, but it's rare.
What I do often is create multiple versions of the same character.
My claws/dark brute, DB/dark scrapper, necro/dark mastermind, spines/dark stalker are all the same character with different names.
Dechs Kaison, my bots/traps, also has AR/nrg blaster, huntsman, and DP/traps defender versions. I plan to make a Beam Rifle something out of him next.Quote:Disturbingly enough I'm almost the same position having three versions of Adeon Hawkwood (AR/Dev, Trpas/AR, Bots/Traps). I've been contemplating adding a Beam Rifle/Force Field Corruptor to his repertoire.
So I will be creating new characters, but I have no plans for what they will be. Just whatever strikes my fancy as I continue to play. Oh, I did just get an idea for a SJ brute that will end up going Vigilante. Will have to think about his secondary. Maybe Regen. -
You can bind something to the key. I use
ESC "unselect$$targetcustomnear enemy alive"
to get it to target the nearest enemy. You could try just using the unselect part. But I don't think that will help you much with your redraw problem. Any time you haven't selected an enemy, you could put your weapons away, it just depends on how the signals pass back and forth between the server and your client. I have had to redraw in the middle of a fight when I hit an attack key after one mob dies. Other times it just switches over without doing a redraw. -
I don't think there will be a big problem with high level griefers wiping out the Hellions and such, since they won't be able to get to the zone. Yes my level 50 can go to AP, but not the AP new characters enter from the tutorial, with its invading force from Arachnos, the murder scene at the cinema, and the Hellion cave under the bridge. That entire zone is an instance, which goes away when the final mission of the arc is completed, so there is no way for someone to come in and wipe out the Arachnos towers to keep anyone else from finishing their mission.
Their may be ways around that, if you leave the zone without finishing the arc in some manner, which AP do you return to? Is is limited by level, or by finishing the arc? I am guessing a combination, since my high level that I transferred didn't see the instanced zone and he has certainly never done the arc. What happens when someone has the arc open and heads back to AP at level 20? That is a good question, which will be a pain to test. -
Hey, just because anyone that can log onto the forum can click on the City of Heroes Forums link at the top of the page and find the Beta forums that are open for everybody to read with all the information available about I21, doesn't mean that the NDA doesn't apply! After all, we wouldn't want anyone finding out about the secret stuff ahead of time! OH NO, I MENTIONED THE SECRET STUFF, THEY'RE GOING TO GET ME. HELP! HE.......................

I was also going to say HeroStats. And there is this post I read a couple of weeks ago that pointed out a possible bug with Gauntlet. Since I have seen times when I have a 95% to hit and missed 4 times in a row, I am guessing this is more than a possible bug.

I always ignore everything in the front of the bank. Run through, without engaging anything, all the way to the vault. The mobs in the front will stop chasing you and you only have to face the villain and one or two more, depending on your difficulty settings.
I usually beat the bad guy to it and have to wait for them, so they never get started on the vault door. Even when I don't beat them there, attacking them gets them focused on you and you don't have to worry about them getting through, unless you get beat down.
After you beat the ones at the vault door, you have a choice. If you clear the Thief in the front, the timer for the mission starts, and you can add time by stopping the vandals and the side missions. Of, if you don't clear the Thief (the minions there don't matter, only the Lt. with the Thief label) the timer will not start, and you have as much time as you want to clear the map, do the side missions, and get the exploration badge. When you are done doing that, you can go back to the bank, kill the Thief and the mission will complete and vandals will start showing up. -
Beta is down until sometime tonight, I think it was 7 PM Pacific. If they get it up earlier than that, I am sure they will let us know here on the forum.

You are on the right one, it is sometimes a bit finicky about letting folks in right now. I have heard that checking the box linking your account to an existing one helps. OTOH, if the store is still down, that may be preventing you from getting validated as a subscriber. One of the problems with betas, things don't work right.
