The ambushes are all spawned before you reach the EBs. I only know this because my controller was taking her sweet time killing her way along and I would get ambushed as I hit the Rikti spawns in the hall rather than while fighting the EBs. But the ambushes take their own sweet time coming down the hallway at you. If you're a fast mover, you might wind up with them all catching you as you're fighting the EBs which could certainly complicate things. Maybe wait a moment to clear the ambushes before pulling Honoree/Holtz.
  2. I thought Holtz/Honoree would be a challenge on my Earth/Storm or even a laugh-enducing suicide but... heh. Holtz spent the fight pinned to the wall with Hurricane and most of it held while my pet punched him in the face. He didn't get a single shot off on me.

Honoree stunned me during the pull but then stood in my hurricane (locked in with spammed immobilizes) tanking his ToHit while I dropped my tornado/lightning storm and threw a couple O2 boosts on my pet when Honoree got a shot to land.

Lame. For those who could pound it, the mission was great fun. For those who couldn't, that's why they made -1/x0 and inspirations. Or auto-complete/abandon.
  5. Another person who uses the quiet room in the AE. No one goes in there even to build missions it seems so it's nice and private. For even more privacy, use the AE building in Brickstown or something.

My Shield/War Mace tank has no endurance problems. Once upon a time I did and somewhere along the road of leveling and IOs, I turned a bend and have to either go ridiculously spam crazy or take a Malta Sapper out for dinner in order to budge my blue bar below 80%.

My positional defenses are all ~50% so I'm guessing either Damage or Recharge. I'm leaning towards Recharge/Stun figuring that some recharge will help Active Defense stack more for more 95% DDR goodness and allow me more damage by virtue of my big-hitting powers cycling faster. Basically, Recharge will make me stronger on multiple fronts. Plus it might help me budge that blue bar

    Vigilante Woes

Another disappointed person. I was hoping this would at least give some reason to feeling like your vigilante was in the Isles besides... what? Newspaper missions where I kidnap someone or steal some baubles?

The whole "gray" thing sounded cool before GR launched but now it's just a stepping point between ends of the spectrum. You're more hurt by giving up the ability to gain A-Merits than any benefits in going to the other side and being forced to follow along someone else's story lines because there's nothing there for you personally. I guess it's good for badge junkies.

Yeah, that's not my idea of super-villainy. Now I just play the archetypes long enough to move them blue side.

    [...]
As you and I both said the best use of Trip Mine is as a Defiance boost and a little close in defense. To me that says that something is wrong with the power.
Yeah, I never took Time Bomb due to its horrible reputation. Never took Gun Drone either due to a lack of power slots. I suppose I could take it with I19 but... eh.

I started a Sonic/Dev blaster who might take Time Bomb just to try the Sleep/Bomb thing out. Anyway, no argument from me that /Dev needs some love in multiple areas.

Personally my preferred use is to drop one at my feet before engaging. This serves two purposes, first it provides a 26.4% defiance damage bonus and secondly the mine serves as a deterrent to melee oriented enemies.
I like to toss down caltrops, lay a trip mine and then lay into the spawn with my AoEs while the defiance boost is up (playing an AR). Any surviving mobs -- usually Lts or bosses -- who live through the AoEs and make it over the caltrop field get, at minimum, blow back out of range to be a threat and, at best, blown into little harmless chunks which I then dutifully arrest.

Personally, I find the "set ups" prone to hyperbole in how long it takes. The time's never bothered me much but your mileage may vary. The only time the set-up feels ridiculous is when I'm doing something ridiculous like laying down a giant mine field to lure an EB into.

  14. On Virtue, I've been hearing AE spam in Steel Canyon & Talos. Presumably because there's actually people in those zones worth spamming at (especially Talos as the dumping ground for graduated Praetorians).

Obviously no one is going to waste their time spamming in Brickstown when the only ones who'll hear it are Crey doctors and someone trying to start a Manti TF.
  15. My grouse with this has been with the developers and how long this exploit has been going on.

I'm actually less inclined to ban/de-level people because of this lack of reaction from the devs. If someone was sharp and put a smackdown to these things as soon as they were popping up then I'd be more apt to say "Yeah, warn/ban/punish that guy who is trying to exploit the system". When it sits for a month and you're either punishing a bajillion people or just a select group of "worst offenders" (which makes no one happy) or whatever then you might as well not even bother beyond fixing the issue. Not because people were "innocent" but because you sat and let the problem get so bad that now there's no good solution.
  16. Siege was the one missing for me as well.

If you fought Siege you'd remember it. He's REALLY annoying now due to a large self-heal at 25%.
  17. I think mine was natural. (Just looked... yup, Rose is Natural origin. And been lvl 50 for a long time now)

The usual standard (besides "who cares?") is to think about this: If your character lost their gun and had to pick up some random firearm, would they be nearly as effective?

Yes: Although he has a favored weapon, it's really my character's personal skill in regards to speed and accuracy that makes them deadly with the gun. My character is of Natural origins.

    No:
Although he's more skilled than a random cop or gangster, my character's super high-tech weaponry with its tracking devices and specialized rounds is really what makes them as deadly as they are. My character is of Technology origins.
  18. I have an AR/Kin corrupter who stalled out around 32 because she just isn't a whole lot of fun. She's "okay" in teams and a chore to solo both in terms of damage and survivability. I'd re-roll her as something else (Kin isn't essential to her concept) except that I'm too lazy to grind out the Tommy Gun customization a second time.

One AE run can net you 1500 tickets. I don't know off hand how many tickets Uncommon salvage goes for but the rares are 560 (? - close enough). A single run could definitely get you the uncommon(s) you need.

Unless I misunderstood what you're saying then a preemptive mea cupla.

Any opinions counter to your own have to be framed in the most immature and hyperbolic sense possible. No one ever "comments" or "debates" or makes a "statement", it's always "cries", "whines", "rages", "screams", "freaks out", etc.

If you were to be honest with how people are speaking, it would be the first step to admitting that maybe they have a valid point or two and that dog just won't hunt here on the webbernetz. Far easier to just say they're a bunch of freaked-out rage-whiners and then you can ignore their comments before they threaten your own thoughts & opinions.

Yeah, as I explained way back when, that was sarcasm directed at someone saying that this was a holiday weekend so expecting a fix within the past 3+ weeks was unreasonable.

But then I wouldn't expect a slavish, dev-adoring defend-Paragon-Studios-to-the-last fanboi to understand something like that

We're still doing that, right? Just using name calling and emotional buzzwords in lieu of actual posts?

Ooohh! Ooohhh! Wait! "Fanboi!!" "Suck up!!" OMG I must have just won because I used dismissive terms to wave away comments I didn't like! That must be it -- You're just a "Fanboi!" Suck up more, Fanboi!! Suck up to the Devs who can never do no wrong in your fan-worshipping eyes!!

Hey, look, if you don't have an intelligent answer to how long an explot can be live before anyone is allowed to criticize it, just say so. Filling post after post with "whiner!" "Nerdrage!" "Rage!" "Crying!" and other comments and then saying "You're incapable of reason" just makes you look stupid.

But we can just post "Whiner!" and "Fanboi!" at one another if that's the best you can come up with.

So, I implore you... tell me how long! Oh please let me know with all your wisdom how long a massive exploit must go on before I can comment without risking the scathing wrath of you saying "nerdrage" and saying I don't know what I'm talking about! We know it's at least a month so is it six weeks? Two months? Ten weeks? A year?

I don't think I could take it if you made another cutsie picture so please let me know!
