    Why?

    [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
Solo bases are the exception and not the rule in comic books.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, tell that to the super guy with the Fortress of Solitude.

Gotta be careful with those blanket type statements (i.e. Bases are for groups).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Did you read the rest of what he said or just stop there? Superman is (I think) the only major superhero with a "one-man sg-base" that he didn't mention. Exception doesn't mean that it doesn't happen, it means that it's rare.

    Drive-by Buffers

    [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]

oooo i hate that ice armor thrown on me without asking

    [/ QUOTE ]
Kinda sad that people want to cancel a buff just because of the graphics.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If you're hanging out, not doing anything, not planning on doing anything, and you're just being social and you happen to take pride in the costume that you have spent time on... It's quite understandable to be a bit peeved when some random person comes by and coats you in a nice thick coating of ice that you can barely see through.
  3. Well, I got bored... Didn't know what powersets or whatever you plan on him being, so I didn't have any of that in mind when designing this. Anyway, came up with this and then realized that the bright white, while it looks nice and bold, probably wouldn't be best for a "rooftop gladiator" so I toned it down a little bit and choose one of the lighter blues instead, which gets us this. Muted colors doesn't have to mean black and grey. We don't really get a ton of low saturation value colors, but they are useful; if one were to remake this costume using the color four circles to the left... Whole different costume and theme, and way too bright for this character >.<
  4. What powersets is he btw?

Also, what boosters/etc. do you have access to?
  5. Just stay far far away from this and you'll be fine. Be careful with that name and taking inspiration from other comic characters.

And sorry, no help with an actual costume for ya right now from me... Although, if you're going for Silver Age, the Ninja mask doesn't quite match the expected look, and with silent in the name, you might want to go with more muted (pun sorta intended) colors rather than use 2/3 of the primaries.

    Quickest Damage

    [ QUOTE ]
That hasn't been mentioned for 1 reason. It no longer counts :P

Dmg from lava, pain crystals. . ect. . .none of it counts that was changed like 2 issues ago, or so I thought

    [/ QUOTE ]

It counted for me when I did it last month. And I had just grabbed the mission last month too, I had had the arc open with the mish available for a while but I don't see how that could alter anything. Worked for me yesterday too, actually.
  7. BTW, "IMHO" can also stand for "In My Humble Opinion".

    Just an FYI.

Here's a question I've always wanted to ask:

By the 45-50 level range, the Nemesis has obviously gained the ability to spread his mind across multiple bodies, but how does that work? Is it one conscience controlling multiple suits of armour like he had a hundred hands, or is it multiple "people" all existing as copies of the same mind? At one point, the former appears to be the case, where two Fake Nemesis will finish each other's sentences. At another point, the latter seems true, as "Nemesis?" asks "Have we met? Or was this another Nemesis?" suggesting that the one I'm fighting now may not be the same despite sharing the same mind.

    How does that work?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think it's both. The Fake Nemesis' can either be autonomous robots, or Lord Nemesis can directly involve himself in that one (or two) remotely. When dealing with a Fake Nemesis, you don't know if you're dealing with a robotic automaton acting on it's own, or Lord Nemesis' mind in control of that robotic automaton.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The thing that stands out to me though, is the "Have we met?" line. This makes me think that all the Fakes are connected to one brain... but that brain isn't always in the same time-line. The "Nemesis?" that we face is likely a version of Nemesis from the past who had come forward to the future, being our present, for some reason. I think any disparity between any of the Fakes is likely caused by them either being part of a Nemesis from a different time period or part of a Nemesis from a different dimension, and every dimension's Nemesis is plotting in every other dimension and plotting behind every other Nemesis's back. Or, it's just a Nemesis plot to confuse us and make us wonder about the true nature of the Fakes.

    Double Doorways

    [ QUOTE ]
also annoying when you have a fully double/triple stacked room and you suddenly want to attach a new room to it, or move it.. . you often can't because of the check *sigh*

    [/ QUOTE ]

I can't believe I forgot about this, I've been running into this a lot too. I have made quite a few rooms in my new base that have multiple floors, or tons of things all over the walls and above the doorway, and can't add any rooms to any side of them without first deleting everything around the doorway. (I think I have remade the one staircase 5 times now. At this point, I've given up for now and let it as half a staircase until I'm sure about the placement of the room beyond it.)

    Quickest Damage

    Hot-tubbing hasn't been mentioned?

Tyrant's lava pools. Grab some friends* and plop yourselves down in Tyrant's lava pits**. It's been a while since I've done any large-scale hot-tubbing, but with the right numbers*** a Scrapper or Tanker - don't use anything with a passive +HP power though - can rest in the lava to significantly increase the damage they take, and add a targeted heal to the mix and just about anyone could rest in the lava.

And then you're working on everyone's damage badges, and the Defender's/Controller's healing badges. Only downfall is that it requires a fair amount of people to get a good hot-tub party going.

However, you can set it up for just two people, but the Defender/Controller would get no credit on their damage badge. Just have the toon you want taking damage in the lava and leave a Defender/Controller out of the pool with a single-target heal on auto**** with the other toon targeted*****. I've used the method for two toons recently and discovered that using a level 50 map, I could plop my Regen Scrapper in the pool at level 40 while my Emp Defender of the same level healed her and there was no death, so you can start on it before level 50, but if you're going to make a party out of it, try to keep it to level 50 just in case.

    * At least 3 Defenders/Controllers of the Empathy or Radiation variety (or probably thermal too, they have an AoE heal, right?) who have their AoE Heal power well-slotted.
**Probably obvious by this point, but this is generally a level 50 activity, except where noted later.
***I think it's 5 AoE Heals going, but I could be wrong. Trial and error will tell you the right numbers.
****You could also substitute a Peacebringer who has taken and slotted Glowing Touch
*****And if you're not controlling that other toon, make sure they know to keep you targeted and not click on their friends list or anything or you'll probably come back and find yourself dead.

Sorry for all the end-notes, I had it in parentheses within the writing and it made it too choppy to read in some places >.<

    Double Doorways

I want double doors back, I have a base with a double door still in it that I have to be very careful when editing, already lost two other double doors in it.

I also wish that door placement was a little more intuitive than it is right now. I can move a room and have a perfectly viable door location set up in both rooms, but if it's not in the square that the builder wants to put the door, I can't move the room. I've found a way around this by using one-wide rooms to force door placement, but then sometimes moving the other room back runs into more door troubles. It is really rather annoying.

That'll be nice. The first mission of my arc won't be bumped up to 35 due to Mynx.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If you have Mynx in it, she will still affect the level of the mission. The feature in i15 does not allow you to override the minimum/maximum levels of pre-existing groups/mobs.

Move all the AE buildings to Boomtown......

    [/ QUOTE ]

I was thinking one on the far side of Grendal's Gulch.

    One in the Shadow Shard.

And how about peering through the cover of trees in Eden.

And just for the low levels, a secret door in the sewers.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You mean the Abandoned Sewers, don't you?
  15. 1. Image tags don't work on these boards.

    2. The helm on the far right is Daedelus' signature helm, and like his current time period's counterpart, Positron, the helm is not available to players.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
If I were to be asked for a suggestion as to what to do to further discourage/limit farming in the AE; it would be to kill the Auto-SK function. That said, I'm fairly removed from the issue, and I would have to do some serious research into how that function was being used before I implemented it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Guess what? Remove the Auto-SK feature and do you wanna guess what will happen? People who are using it to PL are just going to start broadcasting "LF Bridge!" and it'll just add to the clutter in broadcast that so many people complain about as it is. The Auto-SK feature really does about as much good as evil, it allows teams of varied levels to play together; there are many people out there who have friends of varying levels who couldn't team together without the Auto-SK feature.

Also, events like Champion's Tanker Tuesday can benefit greatly from the Auto-SK feature. Recently, they came to the Guardian server and I ended up on a team that was so varied in level that, no matter how we tried, we couldn't get the SKs to work where everyone would get XP. We went and ran an MA story, but didn't do one that Auto-SKs, so we went through half of the first mission with half of us getting no experience, eventually I decided that it just wasn't worth it and logged off to another toon. This would always be the case if you take away the Auto-SK feature, people who want to play together despite level differences would not be able to do so. This is not something that should be stopped, the devs created the sidekicking system so that players of different levels could play together; the Auto-SK feature really just expands this.

Yes, it has the unintended effect of allowing people to PL others without a bridge... but is it really that hard to find a bridge? I know plenty of people who have perma-46's specifically to bridge. The only thing that removing the Auto-SK feature would do is bring more people to AP and increase the amount of broadcast "spam".
  17. [ QUOTE ]
Very nice. I've only hit 50 with one character so far, and it was a momentous occasion. I didn't know about the XP option, but I managed to time it just right so that my ding was the direct result of a fulcrum shifted damage capped nova. I want all my 50th dings to be that awesome, but I doubt anything can live up to that.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sounds like an awesome ding. I've got a similar but entirely different story of a 50 ding... Before the option was added to turn off XP, I actually managed to gain just enough XP on my Tanker that I was able to go grab the Undefeated exploration badge to give me the XP to ding 50. I shoulda had the screenshotui on so people could see the "Epic Archetype Unlocked" message, but I didn't think about that at the time.

I have a Native American villian.

    Fallen Thunderbird

Nice approximation of moccasins, wish we actually got the fringes that are present in the drawing >.<

Also, like the hands, nice touch.

    2. During double XP weekends there is almost always two or more Atlas Parks. on a normal basis there is only two. Since the addition of the AE building the two instances of Atlas Parks is a constant. What will happen when we get another double XP weekend with two instances of Atlas Parks already? Many people do not have a computer set up to handle the kind of lag due to graphics and population as the next person.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, first off, I don't think this would really solve anything.

And as to what I quoted, my guess is that any XP gained in MA will not be doubled during 2x XP weekends; so that issue is likely moot.
  20. Surprised this one hasn't been mentioned yet... "Poop" and "Pooper" and both obscene. Apparently that popular children's potty training book is teaching our children naughty words. I found this one out when I made my one arc and had the boss call the player a "party pooper" for ruining their fun.
  21. [ QUOTE ]
My Beta Reserve character is "School Bus", he is Part Time Wrestler - Part Time School Bus Driver. His question was - "Since Baumton was leveled not one child has been seen since."

    [/ QUOTE ]

Which reminds me... There's bus stations all over the place; where are the buses?
  22. [ QUOTE ]
Things I learned tonight! Olly is an armpit sleeper! Olivia seems to enjoy curling up under my arm when it is time for me to sleep.

    [/ QUOTE ]

My cat, Jack, would always do this to me. Eventually he got too big to really fit under my armpit though, so he started sleeping in my kneepit (is that what you call it? I don't know). There were quite a few times where I woke up and went to roll over and couldn't and didn't know why, then I looked down and saw the huge masss of cat pinning my legs down.

I miss my kitty now! I hate not being allowed to have pets in my dorm >.<
  23. Obviously not a fire/fire scrapper, but this is my demonic scrapper. If you see any elements you like about him, feel free to borrow them.
  24. I was playing around with making a new character and had a trenchcoat selected before I started playing with hairstyles... When I cycled through the list and it got to the bridal veil, this is what became of my screen. No more editing for me I suppose. Clicking on the "Costume Sets" arrows brings back the other options, but I just lost everything I had previously done.
