Quote:Boycotting certainly IS the only response to this. And if you play GW2 after NCsoft FIRED you from COH then you can go **** yourself.I don't think boycotting is the answer. I may try GW2 soon. I played COX since 2005 and will miss the game, the many players, etc. But I hope after a few more weeks most of us will have processed the frustration of a change in our second life as we say goodbye to COX.
It was fun, I'll miss the character creation, the gameplay, and you fun monkeybunch.

"Melt 'em like butters!" -
You guys need to create a new super hero rpg using whatever IP protected stuff you can. You'd have an instant player base since NC Soft "fired" this one.
COH was one of the most innovative mmos out there. I've played SW: TOR and you guys' fingerprints are all over that game.
Be proud. -
Actually I blame anyone still willing to pay NCSoft money after they fired us from our game. If you really care about COH and the community you'd cancel any active subs with any NCSoft game.
And if you don't, **** you. -
This is WAI? Wow, just wow.
This is INCARNATE content. Don't the Devs know how powerful incarnates are? Besides, just turning OFF AVs is stupid. If a team can't handle it can reset them to EBs.
Makes no sense. -
My theory is since these were seen as "solo-able" content avs were turned off. Which is stupid since that's what we have notoriety settings for.
-
So I'm running the DA missions with my SG and we get to The Sentinel and are expecting a big AV fight, but he's an EB, so we rather anti climatically wipe the floor with him. I think this is normal and carry on.
Then last night I'm doing the Diabluque mission, get to the end and she is an Orange EB. I check my difficulty settings and I am set for AVs.
Soooo, the mobs in the DA missions are harder to clear then the end bosses. This needs to be fixed. -
I renewed my subscription on October 3rd for 12 months. You guys happily billed me the 130 bucks but haven't given me my 400 points for October. When should I expect to get my points?
-
Another thing to keep in mind: sure pets don't get the +recharge from temporal selection. But that is one out of the three buffs it gives. They certainly benefit from your heal and from the damage boost.
I can't wait will my Assault Bot gets this boost post 32. He'll do more damage than he does with my bots/traps build. -
Quote:Napalm rockets.Voting bots/traps, mine solos things he has no right to solo, and that's with barely any IOs and an idiot behind the wheel. Plain old PvE spawns are hilariously trivial to deal with.
I also have a thugs mastermind but she doesn't seem to create the sense of "oh ****" that the robots do. Maybe it's the clanking... -
Which is why I am poed I got a bloddy common on the run were we got all four badges. I mean what the Hell do you have to do to get a very rare?
-
Well I ran a BAF that hit all the badges, was in the mission the whole time, died once, attacked, buffed, debuffed and still got a common. One time I died and dced before then end, got back in a scored a rare. WTF?
-
This has happened three times now.
Nightstar and Siege are at 16% and then the game map servers me so I get screwed out of my reward and merit. It always happens at the same time, with their health just low enough so that by the time I get back in I'm sol.
One time I got lucky due to the lag and they rezzed right as I got back in, but this bug is consistent enough for me to use my wife's PC when soloing and only run the Lambda trail when we both play.
I contacted the support team and let them know I'm none to pleased to get jacked out of my trail merit twice now. It's weird that it always happens at the end and just when there is not enough time for me to get back in and collect my reward. -
The forum refuses to connect for Firefox for me, and IE is slow going as far as scrolling is concerned. This started with I20.

Quote:This was a stealth nerf masquerading as a QOL upgade.Yup, Bots are terrible for it too, don't believe they aren't.
"Hurrrr, me punch Warwalker in KNEECAP, DERRRR!" <_>
Me no gusta... *sigh*
Edit: Oh, and /Signed to nixing the ruddy rediculous end cost on the pet upgrades. If you're going to kill them off every 3 seconds, then don't make me sacrifice my end bar just to use my Primary set, damn you...
I'd love to go back to the days that I had to equip each pet individually. That way If I only lose one pet, I only spend the END to equip that pet and not ALL of them. -
Quote:Now if I just get into a trial without map serving ever single time....In this case you're not being "nerfed" in any way. Siege is simply built in a way which your powers aren't suited to dealing with very well, regardless of how awesome that combination of powers is against some other things.
There's one of the Incarnate powers which has an option of adding a -special to all of your attacks. That might be enough to weaken his heal enough for you to beat him.
I'm not sure if AVs resist the Interface debuffs though, if they don't that may be your best option as the other thing it offers is -recharge I think, further slowing his ability to self-heal.
Edit : Gravitic Radial Interface: 25% -rech, 25% -secondary effect should be the one to go for. The 25% chance isn't much but with all your pets blasting away it should quickly stack 4 times and stay there. -
-
Well I am downgrading him to a level 49 EB, but as Muon_Neutrino I don't get why this AV has to have an auto heal that fires every single time. Even Baphomet's and Sunstorm's heal only fires a few times.
Keep in mind he can't KILL me (unless I drop out of BG mode and stop focusing on debuffing his damage), but even with the Hero damage buff, feeding my *** bot red meat and using envenomed dagger and other temp powers I still can't kill him.
I can't rage quit (my wife and RLFs play), but between this, the Event disconnecting me every time I've tried to play it, noticing my vet powers that I have EARNED through several years of play are nerfed during the Events, and the insane amount of new currency for the new Incarnate slots, well I have a feeling I'll finally be finishing Red Dead Redemption.
It really sucks to have built up a toon for over a year, investing time into the Alpha slot and the infamy for purple sets, that can handle AVs and GMs , to have that toon nerfed to the point where Siege is unkillable to him.
I can solo Jurassik but not Siege. Really? -
Well, apparently my pc can't hack the new issue. I've tried several times to do the raid and every time I mapservered. That and the new insane buffs to the standard Pretorian have left me seriously aggravated. The new currency is unnecessarily complicated, I have no friggin clue how incarnate xp is supposed to work. The influence cost to some of the top tier components makes it unaccessable.
In short, I feel like I've hit an arbitrary road block to my fun here. -
Okay.
My bots /traps MM has soloed over 70 avs and a few gms. So I'm fighting the new Siege and I notice that I can't get him down past half his health. Every time he goes down to 20% health he auto heals back to 50%.
Every.
Single.
Time.
I am max alpha slotted for muscleature, and now matter how much damage I do he auto heals. He's unkillable. I even downgraded hin to level 49, making me +2 to him and he's still unkillable.
I'm sorry, but this is crap. He's an AV, he already has massive hit points and regen. An auto heal that triggers every time you get close to beating him is cheap.
I'm not trying to take down Recluse or Tyrant, for pity's sake. It's freakin' Siege. -
1. AVs are worth alot of xp, so if you can kill one in 10 minutes it is well worth it. GMs not so much.
2. kalashnikow, how are you keeping agg on you and not your bots, especially the *** bot, without personal attacks or provoke?
Quote:Or they chase a foe into another mob so they can hit it with brawl. Or they decided to brawl an AV with a mega aoe attack.to state it clearly, if the bots die than that should be only because caltrops, poison gas trap and seeker drones are still on cooldown from previous fight. -
Quote:Just checked combat attributes yesterday, I'm at 53% s/l if my bots bubble me. I'm pretty sure I'm at the cap, which is why I love s/l AVsJoe, whats your total def when you play? I can't see how my Herobuilder is reading things right. 81% def to S/L? I know the bots buff you but I didnt think thats countable. I was looking at your build and comparing it to mine, Your pets have better def but you shouldn't. Other than that you got better rechg and slightly more damage.
-
Ah yes, the melee "feature" added to I17.
The devs "improved" pet AI in issue 17 so that once they have fired their ranged attacks they charge into melee. It was done to make Demos playable. Unfortunately it makes ranged pets borderline unplayable at higher difficulty.
I've had a heck of a time running at +8 team size until I changed tactics. I let the seekers go in 1st and soak up the alpha. Then I rush in and toe bomb poison trap to keep the mobs locked down and follow up with my photon grenade and web envelope to keep the mobs from running off.
Works about 90 % of the time, but you still have pets run off to aggro new mobs every so often. AVs like Rommie, Nosfaratu and Recluse are still a pain because they fire off massive pbaoes that shred pets in melee range.
Maybe now that Castle is gone we can get the new powers guys to look into pet AI.
EDIT: Seekers stun, debuff accuracy and reduce damage by up to 40%. They are your best mitigation. Use them to open up every fight to stun and debuff your mobs. -
Quote:Yes.JoeKent, I was considering working on the Incarnate slot on my bots/traps but was unsure whether Recharge would be better, for more trappy goodness but which does nothing for the pets, or Damage, which would pretty much just affect the pets, since I have no personal attacks (other than vet ones, which are plenty).
Did you really see a lot of difference from the Musculature?
I crafted Cardiac, Spiritual and Musculature. Cardiac is great for teams and TFs because pets die alot and it saves on end for resummoning. Musculature is great for clearing mobs, and the 2nd level boost with the defense debuff increase is fantastic.
Spiritual doesn't seem to bring stuff up that much faster for me. I have Time Lord's Boon and my recharge increase from my sets as well as hasten, so didn't notice much difference. -
Here is my current build. I've soloed close to 60 avs and took down a DE GM last night. Keep in mind this build is expensive, but everything here this toon earned through regular play, and 95% of the time I run solo. I usually run +0/+8 missions because you can burn through the maps faster.
The only mobs that give me issues are DE & Pretorians. Malta were hard until I slotted my Incarnate slot, Longbow and Arachnos were tricky until I slotted Knockdown in caltrops.

I have a few questions regarding your play style.
Are you playing a body guard mode and taking the agg, or are you letting you pets take the agg?
Have you taken poison trap yet?
What I do when playing on a lower level is take the agg 1st, then toe bombing with PT to get that hold to lock down the mobs. Caltrops are good as well because mobs try to run away from you as opposed to attacking. Acid Motor lowers defense letting your pets hit more.
You might want to work provoke into your build early to keep the agg on you and not your pets.
Maybe you could post your build so we can see what's going on.
I soloed Dr V at level 20 and Silver Mantis at level 24, so I feel bots can do good damage before assault bot. It really depends on your tactics and your picks for your secondary.
