Turning it off was one of the first few things I did with the new forums. One look at it told me it'd be nothing more than an outlet for abusive little ragamuffins to toy with.

I think the two shuriken powers from the epic scrapper, and a third cone aoe. Here's my take on it (and with this the devs only have to create one new animation)
1 - Shuriken
2 - Thunder Kick
4 - Storm Kick
10 - Exploding Shuriken
16 - Crain Kick
20 - Crippling Axe Kick
28 - Fan of Blades (a 120 degree are, 50' cone Shuriken Arc)
35 - Dragon's Tail
38 - Eagle's Claw. -
See? It's not a crazy idea at all, and with a little tweaking, MA could be an acceptable set for Dominators.
Now do it or the kat get's it! -
Just a quick suggestion for the Halloween event. There's always a rash of "Ring and Runs" to coin an old term from my neighborhood mischief night days. This occurs when, for whatever reason (death, laziness or grieifng) when the individual or team spawns a tot mob, but then simply runs away (or, is killed), often leaving a very annoying and sometimes deadly obstacle for others to deal with.
My suggestion is that, the spawns target the "knocker" until destroyed or the "knocker" is dead. Through zones, through doors, they should just keep coming until the knocker deals with them... or is dealt with.
Please... let this be the "Trick" of the new Trick-or-Treat event. -
I don't think anything needs to be fixed. It works just fine for what it was intended to be... an addition *to* the game and not a replacement *for* the game.
With the changes made, I think we slowly see the garbage taken out and the creative mission creators slowly return now that thier arcs won't get burried in the prior morass of min-max farms and exploits.
Once the clutter is gone, I forsee the raating system and Dev's Choice both getting thier fair chance to be evaluated for they're effectivness. -

Dear Devs,
We have taken Mrs. Fluffikins. It will only be returned if you proliferate Martial Arts to Dominators in the next batch.
If not, Fluffikins will be hooked on cat nip and forced to do internet kitty porn.
Sincerly,
The Mouse Mafia.
Ps... there's a whole round of Gouda in it for you. -
*not quoting the OP for brevity sake*
Well within your rights to remove somoen from a team you're leading. Although, you really don;t have the right to get angry with someone about not following your rules if you haven't told them to them yet. -

Come on, did the fact that AE would give double XPs really surprise anyone?
I mean, can you imagine the gnashing of teeth and tugging at bodices if it didn't? -
Too many people placing too much emphasis on IOs. When they were first introduced, I adopted a simple philosophy... I'll slot what drops, if it's a enough of a benefit to worth create. If I manage to create a set... cool beans, if not... ah well. Otherwise I sell it and and stay content without the .05% percent increase to my toe-stubbing defense, or the power to create an exploding rubber ducky once an hour.

I think it'd be great if they added "Reformed" to villains (ie Reformed Corrupter) and "Fallen" to Heroes (ie Fallen Defender) when you switch sides, and "Rogue" when you straddle the "Gray" line (IE Rogue Mastermind

Two suggestions:
1) Set AE to auto adjust players running AE missions to be zone-level-appropriate. If you're above the level of the zone, you auto-mal... if you're lower, you auto-sk.
That way, if you want to AE with friends higher or lower than you, it acts just like any other mission, except it's automatic. You simply all move to the zone appropriate to the level of missions you're shooting for and the auto-mal or -sk happens however it needs to so that all of you can play at the same level.
Farming for XPs (aka PLing Farms) might be a little more effort because it would require to lower levels to move to a higher level zone, but the higher level players can certainly help with that, just like we used to do in the old days. No one would be penalized beyond having to move around the zones a bit.
This would clear out a lot of the clutter from broadcasts as well as end a lot of frustration for people trying to find level-appropriate teams (both AE and Non-AE) in any given zone.
And don't misunderstand... no one's saying that a high level toon shouldn't go to a low level zone. They're are plenty of reasons to go back and forth. But face it guys... clustering in starter zones, then demanding 30+ level toons is just lazy... move on to Founders or St. Martial where you'll find what you're looking for.
2) The other suggestion: Make AE it's own entity (A shard taken over by Doc Aeon?), like Pocket D, the PvP zones, and the RWZ. Then put doors in most zones leading to it, give it a huge lobby/bar and several smaller AE rooms (the size of the typical AE room now), and add some arenas as well.
Oh... and give it it's own trainers.
This way, no changes have to be made to anything with the exception of how you access AE. Anyone who wants to use AE can, from anywhere, Hero, Villian, Co-Op, High, Low, Farm... whatever. And, again, it clears out some of the issues people seem to have from the Zones. -
I'm more curious if we'll see a REAT
-
I think the easiest solution is to just take the cap of the global ignore system.

Devil's advocate:
Closing AE closes off mission avenues that many other players engage in for valid teaming. The OP's argument falls as such:
1. There are cars on the road.
2. A minority segment of the populace uses these cars to speed and cause accidents.
3. Therefore, get rid of the cars.
I can't agree to that. There's no valid reason to suspend double XP opportunity for one facet of the game, especially when there are years-tested alternatives. Suspending double XP for AE won't stop the farmers. It will just tick off regular players.
Now, I WILL say that I think the AE building in AP needs to disappear. Keep it in Kings Row. Unless the player's an utter twit, they can hoof it to KR to get to AE if they wanted to, and considering that a player can hop into a sewer team at lvl 1, and emerge at lvl 8 30 minutes later, it's not exactly a "nerf" more than a quality of life control.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, although you make a very valid argument. I personally see it as more:
1. There are cars on the road.
2. A major street festival is announced for the neighborhood the road passes through.
3. Block the cars for that weekend to avoid accidents that would not normally occur.
With that said. I don't agree with the OP about stopping AE. Better to let AE go full swing.
Then, perhaps the detrimental effects of AE in certain aspects of the game will be amplified enough for the Devs to realize something should be done to cut the heroin with a bit more baby laxiti... err... transform AE into an [u]option for[u] running missions and not an [u]alternative to[u] running missions.
Oh... and get rid of the KR building too, it simply doesn't make sense to have a shiny entertainment complex in the poorest area of Paragon City. Leave the AE buildings in "city centers" (namely Steel, Talos, Founders, Cap, Nerva, and ST Martial), add access to them in the Pocket D for co-op play, and ditch the rest in both blue- and red-side. -
Do what most people that I've talked to are going to do: Ignore the change.
What I mean by that is don't write it or acknowledge it in forums, BBs, Blogs. Letters and communications to the channel should be addressed to the "Sci-Fi Channel." If you order the channel make sure that you tell your cable or dish provider that you don't see the "Sci-Fi Channel" and ask them to make a note that you couldn't recognize it by it's new "brand." Same with any branded products... movies ect. make sure to tell the outlet after having them point it out to you that you would have never guessed that "****" meant it was the "Sci-Fi Channel" and ask the manager to take the complaint.
Guys, they changed this for Branding Recognition... to have a copyrightable logo and term because they can' copyright the term "Sci-Fi" (just their specific logo of it). Communicate to them that you don't (won't) recognize the new "****" logo, get other people to do it as well, and eventually the bean-counters will make the decision *for* the "creative" idiots that evolved the idea and toss it for something more recognizable... hopefully firing whatever geniuses came up with it in the first place.
Also, keep in mind that they only changed it in the US (at last mention) because other countries won't get the supposed phonetic connection (and it that **** means something very derogatory in at least one language). This is a good indicator that at least someone at the network wasn't entirely convinced. We want to prove this one guy right. -

AE buildings out of Atlas, Galaxy and King's Row, yesterday.

And Mercy, Port Oakes, Peregrine Isle and Grandville. Also, any zone it makes no sense to have a "public entertainment facility" in... such as the Rikti War Zone. -
Best Rumored Proposed Fix I've heard to date: AE buildings will only run missions for levels appropriate for the zone the building in question is.
This actually doesn't sound bad. It wont do anything about farming and such, but it will reduce the amount of broadcast "clutter-spam" and move high-level farms out of the low-level zones. -

I got a bunch of those cards with the CoV Collector's Edition (with the Heroclix figures, also incidentally discontinued). Wonder if they'll be collector's items someday.

Probably not much more that nostalgic value. -
You sold me... I'll give it a try, and I don't even care much for MA.

Heh, you know... with 15 issues and 5 years under the brdiges, you'd think people would realize the pattern of new issue releases.
a) The servers are locked until the issue posts... not when players *think* the issue is posted... this will result in the clasping of chests, gnashing of teeth and cries of "u r mean poopiehead lyrs 4 not lettin us in!!!"
b) The servers will open, and be glutted with players trying out the "new stuff." This will result in slow logins and loads and will result in the clasping of chests, gnashing of teeth and cries of "u r mean poopiehead lyrs 4 makin us waitz!"
c) The issue will cause some slowdown in performance the first few days as it settles, cause lag and the occasional map-serve. This will result in the clasping of chests, gnashing of teeth and cries of "u r mean poopiehead lyrs 4 brakin da serverz!"
d) Everything will settle down and the issue will be explored, resulting in the clasping of chests, gnashing of teeth and cries of "u r mean poopiehead lyrs 4 brakin {fill in the random play function/build/power}"
e) All the final cries will die down as the issue becomes a week old. This will result in the clasping of chests, gnashing of teeth and cries of "u r mean poopiehead lyrs were is issue {issue number +1}" -
VEAT costume change emote: Mecha-cocoon, arm buttons pressed (robot summoning animation would work) spirals up and closed then open and down with the new costume.
An alternative would be a web cocoon, arm buttons pressed (robot summoning animation again), webbing explodes out and around the toon, then falls to the group with new costume
Just a thought -
You know, thinking about the suggestions of SD being the superpower in the Super Science booster... I think that's a great idea. Not only does it free up the transformation feature (that people have been asking for for years) at the tailor to become an additional costume option [u]like it should be[u], but it fits more thematically.
Instead of the steam release, how about an animation of mixing test tubes together, sparks and foam spewing from them, and them BOOM... with the afterimage of an ashed figure of the toon standing there a minute before dropping to the ground in a pile.
